In the zone, sounds for a fog dane, peaceful, Mt. Tam on my mind, peaceful sounds, falling leaves, raindrops, no it is wonderful fog droplets, fog gives life to our Redwoods and Doug Firs, and me.
The Microcosm sounds wonderful with the Neotone! I have this constant back and forth with the Neotone. Some days I think its the perfect missing link for my music, other days I just love playing the Meridian. Videos like this inspire to get one I must say. Thanks so much for sharing this wonderful piece of music.
Thanks Phil... it's a very unusual instrument to be sure and not a substitute for steel pans in many cases. But for someone like me who absolutely loves to record, come up with new scales and experiment, it's a huge gift to my process. In the intimate settings of the hospice/vigil work that I aspire to, it would not be appropriate and I'm evaluating a 16-note C# Aegean at the moment specifically for that kind of work, we'll see.
Thanks... I owe a lot to AlexanderM for the inspiration. The Neotone (mutant with 19 notes) is a fascinating instrument. It's not a steel handpan and doesn't play like one, it's more of a hybrid drum controller with pan-like pad layout and absolutely incredible samples (thousands of them, hundreds of round-robins, as you can tell it sounds amazing). I love being able to load a new scale, customize that scale and create in any scale. For folks who either perform live with sound reinforcement or do a lot of recording (into Logic, like I do), it's an incredible platform for experimentation and discovery.

So beautiful Gary!
Now I want a microcosm
@@pandub8200 I had lusted after one for awhile and now I know why. Used only about 5% of it on this piece and am excited to go deeper.

Your music is so soothing. I could listen to it all day.
Thanks Nancy, and given how many of my tunes are in the "Song of the Last Place" playlist here, you almost can. (It's at least 3 hours long :) )
Im touched by your music!
The feeling is more than mutual. You're such a powerful influence on me and the entire handpan community. Obrigado!
Awesome music! How do you like the Neotone? Thx
