The sky was a gorgeous blue and the train was fast and quiet. These city/country rides are the best. Switzerland never disappoints. Thanks for showing me a part of the world that I will never see in reality.
Had a very dear friend a long time ago, who lives in Affoltern am Albis. We were riding so many times from Zurich to Affoltern and to Zug...and a couple of times all the way to Lugano and Milano...those were the best days of my life... Best regards from Serbia...
Pre-covid I travelled on this train from Affoltern am Albis to Altstetten and back 5 days a week. Rain, snow or shine… on time, every time. Thanks for showing what it looks like from the drivers perspective.
What a delightful and vibrant, if fleeting, return to summer skies and colours. If I lift my eyes from your brilliant episode, filling my screen, toward the grey, wet, windy weather outside - Atlantic low pressure brings me more rain and wind and weather warnings.... I prefer the fruits of your labours and the contribution by Andrea. You have brightened my day. Thank you.
I have really enjoyed all the rail journeys and wonderful . Many thanks for all the effort you put into making and editing these videos, it is really appreciated. Good to hear you will still be driving trains and filming your journeys; this is what makes UA-cam worth watching. Your videos are fantastic adverts for and taking train rides.
Very good of you to do this section in the 'opposite' direction and without the halts edited, thank you! Above all, it's very clear how the pre-existing infrastructure has been 'right-sized' to suit the needs of the timetable. Showing the station stops in full allows us to understand the relationship between the various services in both directions. On that note, we have an excellent view of the strategic use of right-hand running - North of Affoltern, it allows the Affoltern terminator a good run in case it needs to catch up. Overall a good choice of subject, thanks to you both for sharing \m/
Thanks, Andrea and lorirocks, for showing this alternate route. A beautiful day for a train ride. I find single-track lines much more interesting than multiple-track routes due to the scheduled meets that must be kept in order for traffic to flow in both directions. Must note that portions of the line appear set up for expansion to two tracks, yet it is contraction that seems the more recent trend. 37:51 Chicken coops on the left? Pigeons? Doves? Rabbit hutches? Who gave this presentation an early thumbs down? Is Paolo that jealous? Or was it (my eyes are squinting now) the "other" Andrea? Hmmm...
@@lorirocks777 Oh, "other"-now-just-plain Andrea, my humblest apologies, I didn't know! Sha-a-ame on you, "original" Andrea/Andrea Lisa for that early thumbs down!
A great trip, thank you so much. Your comment about colour saturation interested me, as it's something I've wondered about your videos. Swiss clear light has a great capacity to naturally strengthen colour it seems, giving your videos an enviable clarity.
I can only wish the trains here in the US ran this great and we had the same level of service that is over there. Kudos to you and Andrea for a super great trip, and as always much appreciation for all of your efforts in sharing these videos of such a wonderful and scenic place. Keep up the tremendous work.
lorirocks777, Just what I needed to calm me down, my sleep pattern having been totally destroyed due to 🤬🤬🤬toothache! 1:33 WOW, I like that tree on the top balcony of that building on the right👏👍 The timing/scheduling needed to get trains to arrive at the ‘passing loops’ within less than a minute is outstanding!
Can't add much to Ron's comment below and not too much earlier than mine as well. A great trip thanks. I look forward to more with all your wonderful detail and description and the lovely scenery. Thanks from Australia.

So beautiful. There are no train journeys in Switzerland that are not beautiful. I am so amazed at how quiet and smooth these locomotives are, it's like they are riding on air. The only strange thing is at the end, those four black towers near the station look so out of place against the rest of the architecture we see everywhere else.
Very good video of the other direction. I do like when we can see both ways on a route. Question, I noticed that we did not hear the alerter on the video when the train passed a more restricting signal like we usually do.
This is a lovely ride - and fast and brutally efficient trains and scheduling too, almost perfect station meets! For Switzerland, this line has amazingly few tunnels! Such long platforms at the stations - enough for - what? 15 car trains?

Very long platforms for 12 vehicle trains?
300 meters. If the platform goes beyond the 3 sign, they are longer.
How appropriate that a railway station should be named *"Zug"* when the very word is German for "Train"!😁
