Great video! Your harness is looking awesome. I really appreciate how you talk to other reenactors and especially the crafts people. Some people might find the making of aglets mundane but I found it really interesting.
Thanks Janine. I prefer to just assume the role for the actual displays, so in the mornings I was just a normal everyday sort of chap. Here's hoping for next year!
Another great video to add to the library. I particularly enjoy when you chat to other reenactors and crafts people, it shows to social aspect of what you do as well as offering other perspectives. I'd like to see you do a video on the riff raff if possible. The shiny boys in all their harness are great, but I'd like to see a video on the arms & armour of the lesser or naked man that mustered on behalf of their...er...betters(?)
Very, very interesting. Enjoyed the video very much. Also good thing that your new leg armour fits so perfectly. And I am sure you will find a pair of stirrups which work with your sabatons.
Absolutely gorgeous, loved the entirety of the video for start to finish. May have to make my own points eventually 🙂 already know how to lucet cord but not as well as my wife.
Was a great that the event was such a success after the great washout of 2018 and then COVID! Armour looked great, will have to have a chat with Art of Steel.
Glad you got more time on the second day, think it was also a bit cooler as the Saturday was a bit warm. Felt the market this year wasn't as good as pre-covid though, hopefully the turn out might help change that next year!
I have enjoyed the festival and the shows put on by Destrier. I have some photos of you and the team that need some touching up. I will share them over facebook.
@@ZacharyEvans I understand that rebuttal for spelling but pronunciation is a bit odd. That being said as a king i can understand you dont get about a lot. Especially with the scoliosis and everything.
are you allowed to change history or is its just playing out an inevitable outcome? i did US Civil War re-eneacting for years and always advocated for some sort of points system so we could ACTUALLY RE-fight the battles, not just play pretend of what already happened. but i was in the minority..
There are several different ways to re-enact for sure. Generally the "competitive" ones are run more like LARPs without an audience, whereas those with an audience have scripted battles for an edutainment purpose
@@ZacharyEvans oh very cool you guys do both we dont have anything but historical re enactments in the hobby i was in. i did once get to re enact at the Gettysburg battlefield which was kind of overwhelming
I love how britain has developed such a good rememberance of their medieval past.
the USA has the same thing
we were all just english then too..
You are moving up in the world. Standard bearer and now king! Emperor next?
One of my ancestors, Sir Richard Huddleston of Millom Castle, died at the battle of Bosworth!
Great video! Your harness is looking awesome. I really appreciate how you talk to other reenactors and especially the crafts people. Some people might find the making of aglets mundane but I found it really interesting.
Looks like the new legs work really well. I do miss attending Bosworth.
Super video Zac. I didn’t realise you were playing Richard, but great to see you there! Roll on next year!!
Thanks Janine. I prefer to just assume the role for the actual displays, so in the mornings I was just a normal everyday sort of chap. Here's hoping for next year!
@@ZacharyEvans do you participate at Tewkesbury as well? I might collar you for an interview next year if you do (for the Ricardian Bulletin)
Yes, I'm part of Richard's bodyguard at Tewkesbury. Interview away.
@@ZacharyEvans is Nick Doran still playing Richard there? I didn’t see Richard at all at Tewkesbury this year.
Yes, we were both there. I've got a video on my channel about the weekend.
Quite taken with Louise's hat. Looks like it would stop a mace!

Not much to add beyond what has already been said, but great video, and great looking armor! I really appreciate your behind the scenes stuff.

Great vid Zac! Was good to see you and catch up at Bosworth :)
Always a pleasure.
Was a fun event, great to be back. Enjoyed your King Theon esk speak at the start of Bosworth.
Thank you. It's as likely he said that as anything Shakespeare has him saying.
@@ZacharyEvans I liked it, I'll cheer most things that sound cool, as long as I can get up off my knees and have scrap say whatever you want.
Great video! The behind the scenes stuff was excellent.
Is it me or is that a pretty big horse that grey you're on?
Thanks. He is quite big, and by Medieval standards would be a giant!

Brilliant, thank you.
Which regiment is Northwest based. I’m a Sealed Knot member but I’d love to this period too
The best thing to do would be to get in contact with the war of the roses federation to find a household that fits your needs.
Zac , you look fantastic , the new armour is beautiful on you and i do LIKE your legs .
Thank you.
I hate Henry Tudor. He was just lucky. Btw Great video. I have just discovered your channel!
I'm glad you're enjoying it!
First the pronunciation of Gesso, now Aglet.
In my defence, pronunciation is a tool by the dictionary makers to keep dyslexic people out of positions of power
@@ZacharyEvans I understand that rebuttal for spelling but pronunciation is a bit odd. That being said as a king i can understand you dont get about a lot. Especially with the scoliosis and everything.
To be fair, accents and pronunciation during that time period was all over the place, certainly more so than today.
You look great as Richard only your hair let you down. You could grow your hair or use a wig next year.
Hope your guys in Ukraine are OK.
