Turkey facilitated thousands of Uyghur militants to use their country as a jumping off point to try to overthrow Assad in Syria with the rest of the Sunni extremist groups backed by the US. Russia and Iran intervened to save Assad. Both attacked Uyghur camps as Assad publicly called them out as among the fiercest foreign fighters. So since Turkiye failed they have to go make nice with China.
