Proxmox is such a timesaver being able to create a wordpress template, clone it and when you have a disaster, delete clone and create it again from template.

Yes! Being able to make as many mistakes as you want and just start over is great

I've been using PVE for 5+ years. At one point my Proxmox cluster consisted of 3 old Dell Optiplex machines.
UA-cam is full of haters and people using whatever tech they use at work.
If it works for you, use it. There are far too many people trying to turn choice of software into a holy war.

Exactly! Just let people use what they like and just share experiences amongst each other. I appreciate your comment 🙏

Since I am using Proxmox I would never go back again. It's just amazing and super simple to use but still has many multiple features especially over CLI. The most useful thing are probably the LXC-Containers with the Backup-feature. Fast and works like a charm.I love it!

Proxmox seems difficult to set up. I tried UnRAID and like it but the cost…I just want a Win10 VM and a couple Linux nothing serious or complicated. What do you think?

Proxmox is very easy after the initial learning curve, I always enjoy free so that would be my choice 🙂

    Very powerful, but also complex....
Is there a method for semi-bare ( an existing system (windows 10) present installation from usb) ?
Is it compatible with Open Stack ?
I would like to be able to do a reversible test of it (an install preserving the existing system by virtualizing it with a de-install option)

Hi, I am thinking of using Proxmox on my personal computer, mainly to do triple boot (Windows, Ubuntu and MacOS). Just regular triple boot, not simultaneously, as I don't have 3 monitors. My main concern is, I would be using the VMs on the same machine where I would be installing Proxmox, not remotely from a separate machine. Is this something you recommend?

I have a video I made a few weeks ago on installing Proxmox bare metal and adding a Linux desktop environment to manage your VMs. At that point you can use all your VMs on the same machine as your Proxmox server. So it is possible but would I recommend it long term or as a permanent solution? Most would say no but if you are just using it to learn and have fun I say go for it. I would not recommend it for production use.
To be transparent, my answer is based off of research I have found. You may find something different that persuades you in a different direction.
      Thanks for the comment!
