BIRDS OF FINLAND | Ortolan Bunting (Emberiza hortulana) | Close to extinction

Half a century ago, the Ortolan Bunting was one of the most abundant farmland bird species in Finland. In the last 30 years, more than 99% of the population has disappeared. The Ortolan Bunting may disappear from Finland's species within twenty years.
