Just discovered your awesome blog Liz! I'm looking to teach English in Spain like you did a few years back, but I will continue to follow your adventures :) What do you think of Couchsurfing vs Workaway/HelpX?
nice vlog just wondering if the colour was digitally inhanced because it looks so beautiful.....the colours remind me of the white island volcanoe in the bay of plenty
+张知任 we've done it a few times now. September, March and July. The footage from this video is in September. Our other tongariro video (episode 29) is March. If you do it when there is when there is snow there are companies that will hire crampons and ice axe and guide you (just the 1-day alpine crossing section not the full 2-3 day circuit track) but i would recommend doing it without snow so you can see the colours of the rock and pools.
There is one section of the Norther Circuit that is really nice and you can incorporate it with the alpine crossing if you make a 2-day walk. We outline how it works in this blog www.stokedforsaturday.com/2014/02/the-ultimate-tongariro-alpine-crossing/
Wow, this is so beautiful. Looking so much forward to when we can go there!
Love this, now I'm even more excited than ever to hike up here!
