What I like about him is
That he is not a perfectionist, he did what he could with no experience to improve as he goes! That is an awesome state of mind. The perfectionist in me would take an entire year lol by watching this, I got the motivation to stop trying to make things perfect. It’s such a set back!

Are you kidding? “bill-age pump” ? “Habitat FROM humanity”!
Not made for drinking water from that pump. Could be passing water through bad stuff. If it wasn’t vented a little, it wouldn’t work. Doesn’t know size of his water tank. “I think they are AGM batteries”.
      Desert porcupines?
Prove your $30 1500 watt inverter!
Then people ask if $4K includes the bus….he tells you.
What charges his batteries….he tells you.

Great build. I hate these newer bus conversions. Lol they spend $45,000 on a build but in the end, lol a 1998 bus, is still a 1998 after they spend $45,000 on the build. I'm on my fourth build, the first three were all built from dumpster diving and free stuff or very cheap stuff.

That’s pretty good for 4K. Busses around here are insane, & people want gold for em even if they’ve put $1500 of work into em & want 4K for it, & have the tires need to be changed out, then have to change the oil again almost a year later just from sitting even tho there’s no wear on the oil it’s just age in it, & the water that collects in it needs to go.
Plus the people that are selling em are jerks, & don’t get that you can’t make any $$$ at all on large trucks, cuz of all the stuff that can go bad, it’s not like an f150-f350 where most of the stuff is easier to fix.
Big trucks & busses are different, & have air brakes, tires that cost a ton to replace, as much as the vehicle, & the transmission needs to be changed out & rebuilt & even after that people still want $$$.

When so many children....and i mean MOST children... build forts out of anything they can, it can only mean one thing. That we are MEANT to build our own shelters/homes. All these crazy laws preventing us from doing just that seems highly suspicious. I raised six kids, I'm the middle child of 5, plus 3 step siblings and we each and every one built forts, club houses, whatever we could, whether inside or outside. Me and my brothers...all in our 50's now, STILL dream of building our own, going off grid, roughing it, living in the mountains...Its part of our DNA! And he's absolutely right. Just do it! 😁
PS...It is so much easier to deal with mundane or mini stress as opposed to the killing stress of debt, massive bills or mortgages. Just sayin'.✌

Also talk about not judging a book by its cover, obviously a super budget friendly no frills, but he had the locking hinges and water pump rarely used. Awesome. Great job young man

A plus dude 🤙! From a fellow 4 window shorty owner, you did everything correctly. We build these vehicles to minimize our usage of luxury amenities, so we can enjoy enjoy the outside world even more. But sometimes we humans find the most luxurious comfort inside a cool turtle shell for the night! Your story, budget, and floorplan match mine very closely. I came here for art ideas and I'm leaving now with a full notepad outline to remodel my interior. Those hard left turns will test your kitchen quick! Thanks for the tour homie!

Another great story. Beautiful bus. Thanks friend.
For those interested, there is one important thing to know about "van-based-buses" like this E-350 Ford. In my state all the DMV wanted to know was that it's a van, as did my insurance company. No hassles about bathroom, proper kitchen etc.
To get a "real schoolbus" accepted, inspected, registered and insured as an RV is an entirely more frustrating story.
If you want a little more space, just look for a 5-window van.

Maybe something you can do for your bus that will allow you some headroom. Thank you for sharing all your good advice! Think you are missing your calling. Practically every Schoolie and camper van would love to have your artwork on them. Think about making a living painting them. And be sure to charge enough for your work. Bless you.
