    Devon training with Brian might just change his mind if Brian trains some overall strength into Devon.

      That is where he belongs, his nickname is no limits, and it will be a great legacy to the upcoming armwrestlers pushing the sport past the age of 50 and sitll competing in that level, that is an inspirationn for even someone who is in his 40s. I see him pushing for a third mstch, but as long as he doesnt deteriorate his health then i think it is game on. But if it means the opposite then id say it is best to go down, not worth his health

    The only reason this match happened again well not the only reason but one of them was because people were going on a rampage saying their first match never counted because of Devon's bicep injury (ironically because of Levan) some swore that the outcome will be different, (certain larratt fans) but that myth has been put to rest and died out now, there is no reason for him to think of Levan now, he's got the closure he needed and hopefully some of his rabid fans have too, but he's got other competition in the SHWs Morozov definitely will be challenging & some others

  • @recration
    @recration 9 днів тому +16

    People forget how close the Ermes Levan match was. Ermes has a legit shot at Levan right now, and even more in the future. I am super excited for it. Its not like there is genuinely NOBODY who can challenge Levan. Ermes made Levan quit. If ermes strenghens his wrist (which he has not after the devo match) its going to get very exciting.

    • @Pp-sr4cs
      @Pp-sr4cs 9 днів тому +9

      Yes and no, Levan atm was a better armwrestler than then, as he could actually press and was cardiovasculary more fit. Ermes has more potential mostly because he trains his whole body + has insanely long biceps insertion.

      How did Ermes do so well against Levan yet not get close to Devon?

    • @Pp-sr4cs
      @Pp-sr4cs 9 днів тому

      @@OncleJer Ermes can, but with more time. Devon's weakness is his whole body, because of it he has less side pressure and his bicel has to xompensate for it. If his elbow flexion was as strong as Ermes, he'd also win against Levan, BUT I would bet my nutsack that if you took Levan with Devon's arm as a whole he would be able to beat Levan.

    • @Pp-sr4cs
      @Pp-sr4cs 9 днів тому +1

      @@pauly Wrist flop while saving a bit of pronation. You take out your weak link, which then shortens your moment arm which makes your "bicep stronger" ; bicep is more efficient because of a shorter lever. A floped wrist in a losing position is an automatic loss if your opponent can press ; that's why Devon trained it. Levan ALMOST top rolled Ermes while he had his wrist flopped, pronation engaged from the center. This is beyond absurd because top roll lane is at a big disadvantage. Devon barely moved Ermes once he flopped, and regardless of what he said, he would have never top rolled Ermes frop a center flop with engaged pronation. It's not so much as Ermes won that day, how much Levan lost. He performed like an amateur - used a single lane.

    Devon is the top guy because he has showmanship. Levan is like a big sleepy bear, he's just not much of a character to watch. I say this strictly as a spectator of a sports product. Matt Mask is my favorite guy because he goes into a berzerker rage, swearing, slamming his hands and feet and he has deformed freakshow hands...that's entertaining shit to watch. A lot of these guys are like Generic Muscle Male v2.4. I'm not a hardcore AW fan, I'm just a noob poseur, but this is just what I've observed. Devon is the favorite guy because he's more than a great arm wrestler. It's the same story with anything, the personality is what people latch onto.

I mean he is getting old and at his age if he is not careful he might get injured and regret it for the rest of his life. Not only the match but the training it takes to go for the number one spot does take a toll on ones body not to mention he is in his late 40 where its impossible to increase muscle mass and without it oh boy history is going to repeat nothing else

    If Devon can regain his legendary endurance, make a huge improvement in his bicep strength, and greatly improve his side pressure, then I think he has a small chance to beat Levan.
    Ermes was able to hold off Levan in the first few rounds because Ermes has much better bicep strength and side pressure than Devon.
    Devon is going to need a full year of bicep and side pressure strength training.

    Thinking along the "Top Arwrestler" line a bit more I suspect this "mature enough" concept and using his energy correctly... He's 49. He can't go blasting pancakes to chase Levan and he knows needs to in order to compete at that level. Probably the Super Heavyweight level in general. At 115kg or even 105kg he can probably back way off and maybe live a healthier life for a longer time. I guess we'll see, only Devon knows what his limits really are.

    Devon also is once again, purposely misrepresenting a large chunk of the community's thoughts on the currently illegal version of the King's Move (under the table). He's framing the opposition's argument as "we don't like the King's Move because it's unbeatable", which is a joke and the straw man of the century. He knows no one relevant is making that argument, but he misrepresents the opposition this way because that argument is easily defeated. The real sentiment is more along the lines of people believing that using your straightened out arm to gas your opponent out when your strength and endurance wasn't high enough to do it undermines the purpose and integrity of the sport. There is a safety issue too like he said, but that is minor. It drastically changes the sport. But yeah Devon has been doing this for years because he knows countless people will automatically agree with him. He obviously has a lot of influence. There is very little wrong with the current rules IMO.
    We all owe Devon for his contributions to the sport, and I am a fan, but I will always call a spade a spade.

    I have one question, why does the super heavyweight category champ need to be the face of arm wrestling? I don’t get it? Devon is the face of arm wrestling, doesn’t matter if he is at 115. Without American fans, arm wrestling as a career is just a fantasy. So the arm wrestlers has better hope Americans don’t lose interest. That is my take.

    If Devon can maintain the level he's at right now, there's no doubt he'll easily be the No. 1 guy in lower weight classes -- but for how long? He's pushing 50 and no amount of stem cells and "pancakes" can reverse aging.

    • @greenfinmusic5142

      But extensive HBOT therapy has been shown to re-lengthen telomeres, and Devon has already shown a willingness to try out small amounts of HBOT therapy. If he got his own $100k chamber and did it twice a day, his body would likely be able to handle far more gear & training than it otherwise would.

    • @StevenRayW
      @StevenRayW 9 днів тому

      @greenfinmusic5142 Maybe. But there's no denying that whatever PED cocktails Devon's been taking in the past few years have taken a toll on his body. While he may be stronger, bigger, and more ripped than he used to be, he looks like he's aged 10 to 15 years since 2018. It's ironic that so many people poke fun of Levan for juicing and the likelihood of dying young when Devon's the one who may be more at risk.

      You're the one making the assumption he's dropping weight purely to be #1. He's 49 years old, had to be on juice(possibly more than normal) and has mentioned several times he cant put on weight but also doesn't feel like he even should be this weight. in a nutshell, he's prioritizing health, at least to some degree. The only chance he has at levan is to gain a significant amount of mass which will probably be awful for his health. This isnt a loner throwing it all because he has nothing better to do, dude has a giant family and many friends that love him, why would you significantly fuck your lifespan up for one guy? That's my takeaway when he says he Hope's he's mature enough to not face levon again. it's like a 70 year old still maxing out on every lift in the gym...gotta face the facts at some point man

      @@GelatinousGoop Pretty much what i think as well. At Devon's age gaining more mass would require some more juice and be bad for his heart. You gotta prioritise your family and life over chasing something you might live to regret. The way he beat Ermes with his build was impressive. Time to pull guys in his weight class and live a cleaner life. What he achieved over the last year and a bit was top notch and puts him up there in the goat category pound for pound. Levan is huge in comparison so not worth it but he may change his mind. It would take something very special at his age to do it though.
