Yup! Plus you gotta make sure your sugar is pretty even! You can do what the Bon Apetit kitchen did for their pumpkin pie- and that is layer sugar, caramelize, layer sugar again, caramelize that!

I feel like Cooking Mama recipes remind me a bit of old, advanced recipe books that expect you to know certain techniques offhand. “What? You didn’t know your custards need a water bath? Then you deserve burnt custard, sir!” 😂 nonetheless, definitely loved this video. Feel like breaking out the ramekins and giving it a go.
Creme Brulee tip from a pastry chef in training: After tourching your creme brulee, pour another layer of sugar and tourch it for a thicker layer of caramel. I do it whenever I make it!
looks damn good for your first try!!! i would recommend more sugar in a more even coating on top, and to hold the torch a little farther away. it'll take a little longer, but you'll get that nice thick layer of golden-brown as opposed to a sparse black patchy topping!! its delicious stuff.
I already tried some cooking mama recipes in real life that’s how I learned how to deep fry things and many of my everyday recipes are from video games and they are delicious.
So the best kind of sugar to use for creme brûlée is sugar in the raw! Put a nice covering on it, and tap out the excess. It’ll give it a really nice crunchy caramelized top!!

I’ve made creme brûlée before and it is actually kinda tough to make. You probably could have used more sugar on top to make a better less burnt crust
