Dave, thanks for participating in this thread! Excellent stuff! I have never heard of Pearl Harbour before, even with all those Clash connections. Your review will put me on the lookout for that. I remember The Chills, for sure. Great score with that Townes Van Zandt, and I agree tough to get. Perfect band to revisit..Waitress In The Sky! Happy New Year to you! 😎🎶🎉🎸

Hi Dave this thread is a nice way to roundup the previous year .. I don’t have any chills the next time I see something by them I’ll grab it , the replacements are another band Ive never given time too .. Ian Brodie as well as being the founder of the lightning seeds ( a band I love ) produced many great records .. all the best for 2025 👍🎉

@@robwalkerletthemusicplay Thanks Rob. I’m hoping to find a copy of Sense, but they are impossible to find over here. Happy New Year.

Hi Dave! I just subscribed. Townes Van Zandt is great. I recently discovered him and really need to pick up something from him. Awesome Church record. I never heard of Pearl Harbour and I will scan the discounts bins. The Replacements! I love this band and have let it be, pleased to meet me and Don’t tell a soul so far. All shook down is a must for me in 2025. Welcome to the VC.

That Chills album is awesome, so much great albums came from Flying Nun. Pink Frost and Satin Dolls are my favorite. The New Zealand scene was awesome with The Clean, The Chills and The Bats. I love the Replacements, I was living in Minneapolis when they began to take off, awesome stuff. I have never heard of Pearl Harbour I do like the 80s. Great picks

Nice mention of the Chills and of course Heyday. Listening to Heyday now still sounds as fresh as it did all those years back, just a special album, a classic from start to finish. Hearing that album when it came out was like hearing guitars for the first time ever, it had that much of an impact on us, just love it to death.
We figured you'd already have been into the Chills, good place to start with Flying Nun for sure. Steve Carlson already beat me to it, but The Chills, The Clean and the Bats are the best for sure. I love the Clean the most, showed them in a video earlier in the year and our vinyl finds of the year coming out tomorrow. Those are grail records for sure. Once you've gone down that route, check out a band called the Able Tasmans as well. We just got into them this year and found 2 of their records on Flying Nun and they are fantastic as well.

Thanks! All 4 of those bands are now on my ( getting out of control) shopping list. It seems like anything on Flying Nun is worth a listen. I'll go back and watch your video about The Clean. Thanks again.

That Pearl Harbour album sounds like a great one. Here in the U.K. I've never seen it, and certainly not in the $/£ bins. Will be on the lookout for it now.

@@davidatkinson-Music-and-More Thanks for watching. The UK pressing has a different (better) cover.
