Crash Nitro Kart should have been called Crash Team Racing and Crash Team Racing should have been called Crash Nitro Kart. And WHY? Because in CTR, there are no teams and in CNK, there are teams.

Well, the old CNK start/finish line had the letters CNK. But, the modern CNK start/finish line had the letters CTR.
