Hey Danny!👋🏼 I really enjoyed this episode, mate, especially seeing you teaming up with Tim Harvey. That's amazing! Two legends, one car. Now I'm very much anticipating the next installment. The Suzuki Swift Challenge looks to be something special indeed. Shoutout to the lads next door for building the fifth Swift in such short order.👏🏽 That was no small feat. Let's see if she holds up to the challenge. While I'm here, I'll also give you a shoutout for jumping in there and helping the other guys turning spanners and spending time behind the wheel to help 'em out. Bravo! That's pure love for the sport and great camaraderie!👍🏼 Back to the special guest star, he is certainly no stranger to Silverstone. If anyone reading this is too young to remember the early 90s very well, I encourage you to go back and watch Mr. Harvey secure his 1992 BTCC championship driving a BMW 318iS at Silverstone. He, Hoy, and Cleland were in a 3-way battle for the championship, so everything was on the line. That was one of the most well-matched, exciting, edge of the seat, (yes, all the adjectives), nail-biters in all of motorsports, imo. And to spice it up even more, there was a controversial clash between Cleland and Soper (Tim Harvey's teammate who was making his way back through the pack like a beast). There was a classic moment in motorsports commentary thrown in there by Murray Walker during a pivotal pass, too.😅 Look it up. You will not be disappointed (unless, maybe your name is Cleland)😉 Sorry for the old man ramble.
Anyway, I haven't said it in a while Dan, so here I am... Thanks again for taking the time to record and edit all these epic videos. You're the genuine Benuine and we love you, dude!
Merry Christmas!
the mick returns!! It's a christmas miracle!!!
"I'm going for 1st says Cleland!"
I'm only 5 mins into this but fucking ay' Dan, its hard to believe this shit i'm seeing.. This keen young lad who went on track days who i have always thought deserved more subs.. And here you are sharing a car with Tim Harvey at fucking Silverstone..! I have said it so many times, how has this lad got so few subs, its criminal! Much love, preesh and respect Dan. I know you struggle with the shit mentally sometimes but know that you are a good egg you are with a good head on your shoulders - and i have nothing but respect for you, the things you have done and achieved. Merry Xmas buddy.
Well said mate, respect.
Those boxsters were hilarious 😂 braking so early and then by the next corner completely out braking themselves 😂. Mixed series motorsport has a lovely way of highlighting the difference between those that can afford to race and those that can race
Fun Fact: Tim's flat shifting won him the 92 BTCC title. Nothing else happened at all
real
In a world where half the videos on youtube seem to haphazardly smash cut to a meme every 30 seconds, I appreciate the more subtle approach in these vids.
Tims just sitting in the car like its a Sunday afternoon sim race
Big BTCC fanboy here, great to see you driving alongside Tim.
I bought my Clio 182 Cup off Tim…16/17 years ago. Absolute gentleman!
That was totally epic Christmas time viewing. Thanks Dan.
I've had the newer shape '15 Swift Sport for 6 years now! It's such a cool toy, easy rec to anyone who likes driving but also likes not to spend every last dime on the car.
Absolute gem of a video. Thanks for sharing. I've been cutting about the autobahn last few weeks and boy oh by oh boy front rear ride height and tyre pressure can make so much difference. I'd set a little rake for normal driving in England, but with luggage and everything that became reversed and made for really horrible feeling once I hit adult speeds in Europe. Also I used a crap tyre pressure gauge, and one front tyre was up at 38psi which made it dome and feel so so horrible at speed. A friendly German garage let me use their tools so we raised the rear end a little to accommodate for luggage, and then set all tyres at a reliable 33psi, and the car was once again feeling reassuring at very high speed - upshot is that I'm sure some tyres deform badly when over pressured and wonder if yours have a similar issue. Mine are otherwise superb winter Pirelli Sottozero, great tyre but cannot tolerate overinflation.
Absolutely class, top work. Looking forward to the sprint race!
Love how you get more yorkshireish when talking to other yorkshire men 😂 another great vid mate 👍
Default to factory setting lol
at 2:16 min the Nürbugring opening call was a great detail 😁🏁
Loved this being a swift owner I can’t wait to watch the championship. It’s crazy how sensitive the swift is to tyre pressure, can be night and day with just 1 psi… 33 front 30.5 rear is the sweet spot for me driving a 32s on the road.
Lol
Quality Christmas pressie right here man...👌 Merry crimbo to you and all you're loved ones ❤ Thanks for all the epic content over this year and have a great 2025 💪💯
Mega video. Sharing the car with Mr. Harvey is a treat. Well done! Cant wait to see the sprint race.
Super video Dan. Can't wait for the sprint race.
Great content, so much drama and no shops were lost! Keep it coming mate.
At last something to watch on UA-cam....cheers mate...merry Christmas
Timbo on the brakes on that wet restart makes for pleasant viewing.
Brilliant video, you deserve huge credit for this and the following one. The Darkside team really need to invest in some C Spamers to tighten the damper spring nut. And maybe a torque wrench 😂
thanks! the coilovers coming loose is not their fault, and its common to use a punch to lock them off properly in motorsport 😉
What a video ❤ brilliant fella 🎉
Definitely a Porsche thing. I get the same at track days 😆
Great video Dan 👌
Tim's a legend 🙌
Nice little DDC2 Christmas special! Merry Christmas Dan 🎅🏻
What a mix of cars on track at the same time! Must be a rush keeping an eye on everything happening around you.
The tyre shop local to me is a Davanti dealer. Davanti took them to a track day in Portugal (I think). Can't bring myself to put them on my EP3 though
Glad you listened to me on the Hyundai pronunciation. 😂
so that's where it came from
It should be pronounced to rhyme with Sunday not sun-die.
@@samuelgarrod8327 speak for yourself
It’s terrible when you’re named Burns and your car catches fire!
Tim is such a pro, default dry performance is the same as wet performance. Top boy. Throughly enjoyable watch as always Danny. Merry Crimbo mate 👍🏼🎅🏼
Those Alfa Romeos out on circuit are cool to see. Much faster than I expected
very cool
Hope you have a nice Christmas dude 👊🏼
Dan's got hands through the bends
What a great experience, Tim seems like a top bloke. The Swifts look like a lot of fun as well. We were racing Minis, just glad it was my team mate who was being overtaken by Tim on the restart and not me! We were also on the same tyre as you, so I'm very much looking forward to seeing how you get on in the sprint race with them, especially as we're racing on them in our series next year. I'll be needing some tips! Hope you have a great Christmas.
Which Mini series has the Davantis too? They seem ok for a control tyre
@@dannyDC2 Mini Challenge Clubsport, we'll be running them for the first time in 2025.
Ahh the geometry specialist back out again ;)
Awesome video, nice Radiohed nod. :D
Loved seeing Tim find the reheat function in the Swift, sounded nice 👌
Love that you called it reheat 🤣
Love a bit of slow car fast. Also enjoyed the various sound bites - Nurby TF siren and sega rally were the highlights.
Doesn’t matter if it’s a race like this or a track day there is always a Porche or 7 that you just shake your head at.
@DannyDC2 You should have a chat to Leon and have a test drive in his radical. Would make a great video. This was a nice one to watch. All the best for 2025!
The legend, sharing a car with a legend! Dream team ❤
Great video Dan 👍🏻
Great video Dan! Birkett is great fun…. You wasn’t the only one who had “fun” with the slower Porsches 😂 worse this year but last year it was those and the Jaguars playing road block and I’m in a Ford Puma ffs 😂
One hand on the wheel, the other on the knee. Just like a nice sunday drive 😅.
Great watch to start Christmas Day off. Imagine sharing a car with Tim Harvey!!
yeah, imagine :D
A worthy vid could be ….
You stringing a car up on track and showing the difference of (for instance) 1 thou toe out , 1 thou toe in , parallel etc
Showing the differences what these changes do to the cars characteristics 🤘
it's all subjective, 1 thou isn't going to do a lot lol
@ - 1 thou / secounds was a example lol ,,
But you could show it however you deem correct 🙌🏻
But a “track setup” style video and the effects
Great viewing , hope theres a few more over Christmas, 2 weeks off for me 👍
Cheers Russ.....🍻
Tim yes🙌😎
The American thing is a 1970 Plymouth ‘Cuda.
nice
A great video
Good video!
Jolly Christmas time!
Banger after banger 💪
At 6:20 that is a Plymouth Cuda!
🔥🔥🔥
That black Porsche really was driving like a nob.
i don't think that's fair, just a bit slow in the corners
Good job avoiding that white boxster. That definitely didnt seem like a smart move on their part. You reacted about how I would've done.
This was like a track day the way some of these people drive. Certainly not the level of driving from others normally in your videos.
That’s the fun of the Birkett Relay! (I think)
You'll be sharing a Mustang at Goodwood with Steve Soper next!
fingers crossed!
Just wondering, why does Tim not do rev matching on the down shifts?
He does a lot. The internet must realise one day that some of the fastest drivers don’t though 😅
@ Fair enough, must’ve missed it. I was under the impression you should do it.
Maybe today is that day!
Merry Christmas!
Was it a “bring your nan along for a drive” in the Boxster championship or what?
Why was there the sound of nurburgring nordschleife touristenfahrten at @2:18
Why not
So 2nd hand Swift prices are going up then.....
Ah, Mr salad fingers 😂
Or did he share a race car with you?
🤔
Basically, Yellowspeed Coilovers are shit.
Good vid though Dan 👍🏼
Not at all. Never had an issue on my EG
Nothing wrong with yellowspeeds the BCs on my old ep3 done exactly the same
Who built that car ffs, everything loose. Not a great advert for the club to put you in a badly built car
Great fun to watch on chrimbo morning.
Bit harsh, don’t think it’s unreasonable to expect a few teething problems on a brand new series with parts undergoing their first proper test
@dannyDC2 a torque wrench isn't too extravagant when you're putting another driver in a car you've built.
couldn't be much ruder to Scott, he's talking to you and you just move on
what when?!
@@dannyDC2 44.30
@@davidhorrocks2627 you mean the moment when Adam returned after all the mishap! of course I was going to chase him down that was one of the defining moments of cinema 2024
i was going to blame the tism but this is fine
Suzuki Swift > Taylor Swift
