I apologise for some of the crackles in the audio that some of you might notice; I thought my recording settings were right, but turned out to be slightly off the mark. But not bad enough to deprive you of this video though!
+Sathrandur Bravo Maestro! We enjoyed listening to your piece very much as we celebrate our Thanksgiving day with prayer and entertainment. Blessings to you for your work giving Glory to our God on high.
Samuel - can I ask - was this recorded still with your Zoom H4nSP? Settings notwithstanding, the recording quality is quite good for such a compact little device. Is there alot of "post-recording" adjustment that needs to be made, in your experience?
Great sound. Love your videos. Would be great if your could talk more about the instruments and your playing. Without sounding critical, you look better with a short beard!
I prefer to do videos focussed around repertoire and improvisation (of course I often use hymns for improvising). If you want hymns, I suggest a great channel like Metzger Music. As for demonstrating different types of stops, have a look at my video 'Introduction to the Pipe Organ'.
How did you get started with improvisation and how do you practice? Say, if you fix the melody in the top voice (cantus firmus in the soprano), do you improvise a bass under it then "fill in" the middle voice, or do you "think" instead in 3 voices rather than two, harmonically in terms of chords, and try to fit the melody into a common harmonic pattern?
kevin wang Since Mass started at 18:00 I pretty much had to finish right at 18:00. I actually started playing at 17:53. I like to play for more than five minutes before Mass begins and will often start around ten minutes before Mass at times (fifteen minutes would be recommended in case of large occasions).
It's a pity it is not possible to clock up a "like" every time I listen to this.

Wow what a workout! And you finished right on the dot at 18:00 haha
can you do hymns from your church service and demonstrate the categories of some stops and presets

His playing appeals to the "masses" (get it?)

Sinon, l'interprète fait une impro somptueuse ; pas mieux !!
