Would a more realistic test not be mix for a pre determined time, feed out then use a shaker box to determine the best mix throughout the feed passage?
both types of mixer work, i think its a matter of what type of other maskinery you have too. for example some helix mixers would have problems chewing a whole tough round bale of long hay, while most big vertical grinders chew them up using some horsepower-fuel but then again many farmers use say tub grinders ore wood chippers to crush tough bales. hehe, so i guess its a matter of choice and most important what you can afford
Throw a silage bale in there and see which ones the best?
chris Andrews ha I think the vertical would take the win
What are they mixing?, ..Manure & sand?

Tizziano Faccia was and is the best vertical mixer designer and developer ever in my eyes
With dairy tmrs the helix style break b/c of high forage content. Why does roto sell tons of verts if they dont work?

Put that Roto-Mix up against A Vertical Laird VT-1200 !...
There is no way there is 25000 lbs of mix in either wagon. maybe 25000 lbs total weight truck, mixer and mix.
Better test would be intakes and yield response.
