- We were inspired by a 90+ year old traveler…
Initially our route was inspired by the Solar Eclipse. With that behind us, and the National Parks tour scrapped - we struggled to find the purpose of traveling.
In serendipitous timing we met Tom English. A man in his 90s who has traveled all across North America in a variety of Vans, RVs, Motorhomes and Trailers through the years. His conversation with us reminded us the reason we set off on the road. He also gave us good advice on where to continue to next.
In hindsight, we are glad to not be bound by the checklist of seeing all National Parks. We can let the adventure be guided by our interests, the weather, local advice and see the innumerable beauty that our country has to offer.
In Tom's footsteps we head off with just a few days ahead planned and leave behind the stress of trying to manufacture purpose, but instead find it along the way.
Our favorite thing about starting this vanlife journey remains the same - meeting people and sharing stories that inspire, educate, and entertain us.

When I set out I didn't have as specific of a goal as you all, but I did have goals around seeing as many ski areas, mountain summits, and national parks as possible. It took me a long time to accept that I would be a lot happier if I let go of those arbitrary goals, and instead embrace the serendipity of living in a van. Seems like y'all learned that lesson a lot faster than I did.
Also, that big blank rectangle on your map that says "CO." That's a good one to fill in🤪
Max, you’re absolutely right. Glad we can relate on this too and we agree that embracing the serendipity of it and just slowing down to do the things we like will be good for us!
And definitely we want to visit Colorado in our van to come meet you!
Good evening Jasel and Sonia. You all have been on my mind here since we met last week. It’s beautiful to see y’all’s vulnerability and what perfect timing it was for us to have met one another. Besides His timing is always perfect. If perchance you’re coming through this area again I’d like to invite you to come and see a people who come from all different backgrounds but have one common theme and purpose for their lives and that is to share the good news of the power of God to set free any whose heart truly believes in His Word.

Hello my friends. I love that you’re doing something different and not just conforming to the 9-5 routine for this part of your life journey. I have been following this other channel who have been travelling through New Zealand. They love to travel just like you do and they have been to other countries like you. They do first impressions of each new town/city and they do some research on what they can do in the town which includes a lot of nature/bush walks , the cafes and bakeries with the best reviews, things to do that are free. You should check out their NZ travel as something might resonate. It’s called Glen and Mado and I’ve learnt a lot about my own country through their vlog. Looking forward to your adventures ❤
