I can't believe my eyes, Grisha is teaching us 😭 Thank you so much. Please please keep doing it many of us will never have the opportunity in our lives to have a guitar teacher like you and this is amazing I am so happy thank you for taking your time to help us 🙏
Oh,... this is SO useful. I have done all of these methods as a pianist and a wind player. My H.S. piano teacher, Mrs. Marion Libby (amazing in every way) taught me to do "boogie rhythms". Check it out: "daaaahm -dee, daaaah-dee, daaaahm-dee, daaaahm-dee" and "dee-daaaahm, dee-daaaahm, dee-daaaahm, dee-daaaahm" Further explained: Taking straight 1/8 notes (semi-quavers), play them as triplet patterns - tied quarter followed by eighth (remember, in a jazz/shuffle/triplet pattern - swing, boogie). And vice-versa - eighth followed by tied quarter. It does wonders for evenness of rhythm. TRY IT!!!
Sir, you are showing impossible ability to pick strings, you are a guitar God, I will not forget this video in my life. Take care of your health and live a long life.❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
We all (guitarists and no guitarists) have to thank to this master for he is sharing his knowledges. Its no just important: is trascendental! (guitarists know what I mean)
I have just played through the whole video, thinking about "Stability of the Knuckles" -- and already by 6 minutes in I was actually FEELING that stability -- even as I type now, I feel a breadth and ease through the muscles and tendons of the right hand that is so much more balanced than when doing 2-finger picado. Grisha Goryachev -- thank you for your calm voice and clear explanations -- I have only known you as a briliant performer. Now I know you are also an excellent teacher. ... A year from now I promise (especially to myself) that I will come back and comment on how it is going in my guitar-playing. Thank you thank you.
First time i heard Paco de Lucía i was 8 years old, he was playing the Aranjuez's concert. Now, 12 years later finally i'm trying to learn how yo play the guitar. A couple of months ago i saw you playing Malagueña de Lecuona, since that moment i started practicing. It was really inspiring! I agree with you, Paco is Alive.
Woah, these exercises are fantastic. I've found that the three finger apoyando is not an independent technique, mastering it helps tremendously in the overall dexterity of the right hand. Thank you Grisha
BLOWN AWAY. I just had to reassemble myself with a torx screwdriver after watching this unbelievable video. Humility going together with Divine Skills. Thinking of all those millionnaire sportsplayers who are more into bragging and condescending attitude. What a contrast. May God have mercy of them.
I just started teaching myself classical guitar - at the very beginning of a long and beautiful journey; I am miles away from this level of tuition yet, I sincerely enjoyed the demonstrations you shared with those who can approach your teachings.
Well, I learned a lot-and I don’t even play a guitar. I shoot pool, and in both cases fundamentals and practice are what gets you there. Going through these exercises slowly and carefully shows the new students how to get started correctly. Then you did those brilliant little musical runs-that shows them what’s possible. You’re a good teacher, and I wouldn’t be surprised to hear from some of your students in the near future.
Hello Mr grisha you are a very nice teacher i never saw before coz of you i can learn guitar in the correcte sense i hope all the goods for you love you frim morocco
thank you so much for sharing this. i remember when you came to my high school to give a small lesson to a bunch of year 1 guitar players. we were blown away. 10 years later and i’m so glad i found your channel!!
Thank you Grisha! I will add this to my daily practice. It will take awhile but I see the value of investing in burning this technique into my muscle memory. Very great video!
When I studied (classical) guitar in the early 90s we talked a lot about Yepes and his 3-finger runs, but I never got around practising them. Perhaps now is the time? Thank you for the exercises!
Thank you Grisha for this clear and patient instruction. Your humility and respect for the music are obvious. This adds to my enjoyment of your powerful, nuanced performances.
Thanks Grisha for these wonderful videos of your outstanding technique. In my opinion your personal style when playing Paco's pieces touches deep the heart, this is just the Duende. Ole!! 😀
Гриша, Я судовольствием слушаю, смотрю ваши видео. Вы великий гитарист. На ютубе милион видео гитаристов, но ваша игра в числе немногих. А обясняете супер. Спасибо!
"Hello, friends!..." That makes me smile so broadly!!! If you ever heard Karl Hass - host of the classical music radio program most widely listend to in the United Sates, Adventures in Good Music, which began in 1959 on radio station WJR in Detroit, Michigan and was subequently syndicated to commercial and public radio stations around the world and aired nationally in the U.S. from 1970 to 2007 ), then you always heard "Hello, everyone!"..., his trademark greeting - delivered in his warm, rich and delightful voice. The theme music for Adventures in Good Listening was the 2nd movement from Beethoven's "Pathétique" Sonata (Sonata No 8 in C minor), performed by Haas himself, live for each program. Classic, unforgettable and awesome. HELLO, FRIENDS!...
Ole Grisha!!!! You are huge!!! Like a mountain! You are an Amazing unique especial most human alien that I ever seen!!!! What great teacher you are!!!!!! You are UNBELIEVABLE ♥️
I'm pretty new here ... and already a fan of Grisha! I sure love Paco's music (among many other gypsy musicians!!!) and Grisha plays his music swell - no doubt -, so what I'm wondering is what will Grisha compose when he'll be ready to rise out of his masters. Paco was nicknamed "God" by some (if not many...) so, Grisha won't equal God, but as other angels (such as Vicente Amigo maybe?) he has the stuff to ravel us I say. So : go on Grisha ! We need your great talent - and if you love flamenco, don't forget your russian soul - the one that brought humanity great musicians!
Thanks for your calm, very advanced lesson. A hobbyist, struggling with learning tremolo while trying to also preserve the right carpal tunnel, I find your remark at 2:24 heartening: "Each individual finger does not move that fast". Watching you I'd disagree, the idea still is encouraging though.
Amazing...!thousands thanx...trying to practice this for 2 days only and I see much improvements...I wish someone had shown this to me years ago...thanx for sharing a bit of your knowledge!!
I cannot thank you enough for all of your tutorials particularly this one. I have been using the 3 finger technique for years playing through 3 note/string 6 string scales ascending and descending. I first developed the technique playing triplet scales to which it is naturally suited. Then, using exercises similar to those you demonstrate, I developed 4 feel phrasing which is more challenging particularly changing strings but attainable. As you explain, this method permits greatly increased speed. I integrate with standard 2 finger picado and find it also reduces fatigue. I have wondered why this is not taught more universally. You said you only use it on one song. Why not more? Is it to stay true to the original repertoire? What about it’s use when improvising? I feel guilty requesting your time to answer as I so greatly appreciate the generosity of such a supreme master as yourself providing these incredibly helpful tutorials. Can’t wait to support you when touring returns. Stay healthy.
Great video! I hope you will still be able to come and play at the concertgebouw in Amsterdam next year or so. I was a bit disappointed when I heard that it was canceled this year because of covid-19.
Gracias Grisha for dedicating to us your some of your time and helpp us improve our playing. I would be interested in learning some rasgeado technics. Thx.
Oh my God! Thank you for sharing these secrets. You've made me instantly a better player! Ps. If you find time show us some lessons for the right hand, how to develop tempo, tehnique and so on. Thanks Maestro!
thank you so much. I've been waiting for this for a long time. plz do share more your experience and knowledge dear maestro. specially about synchronizing
Great lesson! Like how you describe everything in details and make It simple. I would like to see how I can use picado technic to play complex arpegios. Its harder, because of crossing with one or two notes per strings. Thanks, keep It up!
Its good to hear a great musician, the instruction was very helpful to me im a hybrid flat picker trying to learn Pacos Great Guitars song and Sabicas Arabian dances i bet you could play a bad ass version of Russian Lullaby by Irving Berlin
Wow this is Phenomenal, Grisha thank You So Much, would you please do a video for how to practise scales descending in lower neck area, many of us players are facing while descending towards bass strings , the pattern breaks , please your expertise is required, grisha,
Grisha, muy buenos ejercicios, muchas gracias, soy admirador tuyo desde hace varios años y me da mucho gusto que nos regales éstas clases. Un abrazo, bendiciones
Thank you so much! I would like to learn how you do the different flamenco techniques and how we can practice them. Every tutorial you make is a master class for me. Have a good day Grisha 🖐🏼!
I’m in shock that player of his caliber has taken the time to do an instructional video like this. Says a lot about his character.

Same. A living guitar God just casually giving you tips on UA-cam. Love it !
well.... everything is better than practicing
so he decided to make a video on practicing
is that procrastination?
i dont know

Wow, Grisha and Yamandu duo would be great. Fiquei feliz do nada, e já me inscrevi no canal do mestre.
I think it is very rare that someone is an outstanding player and a great teacher as well, like you, Grisha. And a great person! Thank you!!
He’s such a world class player and it’s great to see him giving back as well!
and speaking really good English, this is a treat for us
David Russell also is both.
One of the most underrated channels on UA-cam for sure. It is like Einstein took his time to give physic lectures on youtube
