Assault on Precinct 13, Trespass, The Fury & Eraser I saw in theatre. They were all excellent & worthy of being in everyone's collection. Great list.
The Driver is an excellent film, also the Thief with James Caen is another gritty chime film from 81 that's underrated.
Watching your videos is infectious. You are so passionate and really enjoy your physical media and movies. Really enjoyed this video. You introduced me to a couple movies I haven't even heard of before and you made me want to seek then out. Thanks.

Nice to see Trespass on the list.. Love that and might actually be my first time really noticing Walter Hill and being surprised at what movies he had done before that I already knew and loved. Wow! didn't expect to see "No Escape" on the list and YES! that's without a doubt one that should be on a list like this.... Wanted it be be released on Bluray for YEARSSSS and yet.. Have I picked it up... Nope! haha Will have to get around to it.

Another great list, I loved In Time, always worth a rewatch. A movie I think is underrated and would like to see on 4k is A Long Kiss Goodnight. And thanks, I didn't know there was a John Carpenter version of Assault on Precinct 13, I'll have to keep an eye out for it.
I feel Valerian was hurt by having no backstory for audiences that weren't familiar with the comics and were confused by the relationship of the 2 lead characters. In Time was a lot like Source Code in that it got ignored by most people but was a great movie with a future setting.
Never knew of the comics., didn’t have problem. I do think that it likely had too much universal backstory that they couldn’t dive into but still showed.
I always heard that in time was bad, but now I will check it out.

I had no idea Trespass was on Blu ray. I'm about to hunt down a copy. I have it on DVD, but I've wanted an upgraded version for years. Love that movie. I'm also glad to see some love for Event Horizon. The plaque your son made is fantastic! Congrats!

The 4K looks great! I was really happy with it. Such a great film. It's got some real depth to it.
Valerian IS underrated- shame it didn’t hit as well as it deserved. Yes a lot of CGI but man - I thought that 4k looked AMAZING. To me, that was a hidden gem. Great honorable mention!
Thanks man, great list. I am a longtime fan of Rollerball, in fact it was one of the first DVDs I bought back when DVDs were new, I have of course upgraded to the 4K. I also love The Fury, I am an enormous Brian DePama fan, but I’ve only got it on DVD. Thanks for the heads up. I recently acquired a region free 4K player, so that I might fully enjoy my Arrow Video Bruce Lee Golden Harvest box set. Also haven’t thought of Eyes of Lora Mars in years, I saw it when it came out and really enjoyed it, but not since. Similar for Brubaker. And I didn’t know about No Escape at all, so I will definitely have to check that one out. Thanks for all of that, keep up the good work.

No Escape is a great hidden gem. Rarely hear anyone mention it. Van Dammes Hard Target pales in comparison.

Event Horizon another one of those movies thats more popular now than when it first came out
I used to have sphere on dvd , really enjoyed that movie .
Yeah prior to buying the blu-ray last year, I hadn't seen the film for probably 20 years. It was fun to see it again after all these years... felt like visiting with an old friend in a way. A lot of those 90s movies do that for me. I call them "comfort movies" LOL.

It's weird, of the 4 movies that instantly came to mind, 2 are John Carpenter's. Time Bandits, Big Trouble in Little China, In the Mouth of Madness, and Alita Battle Angel. The latter of which i had not seen until last month and it blew me away. Apparently it did horribly at the box office and had no word of mouth at the time but dang. Amazing performances, awesome action, and hit me directly in the feels. Surprising emotional Depth.
No Escape is one i remember seeing in theaters as a teenager and i loved it then so i am sure it's still awesome. I have seen Event Horizon(i actually rewatched it recently on my own for Halloween. I had avoided seeing it because my dad was so grossed out by it.) and Eraser but i now have others to check out. So many of your recommends have now hit my rotation of cinema😊 Sphere is good but it is one of the cases where the book was phenomenal and the movie just couldn't match it, much like Jurassic Park.
Yeah Alita Battle Angel is a great movie! I thought Cameron and Rodriguez knocked it out of the park with that one. Apparently, there are plans to do a sequel at some point, which I would absolutely love (especially if they bring Edward Norton back as the big bad guy Nova... we didn't get to see him until the very end of Alita, and I would love to see them explore his character a lot more in a sequel).
And yeah, No Escape is so much fun. I really enjoyed revisiting it last year after not having seen it since the 90s. I used to watch it quite a bit on cable TV replays back in the day. And it largely still holds up. Some of the effects at the beginning of the film are maybe showing their age and budget, but once they get to the island with all the natural scenery and set pieces, the film absolutely rocks and holds up.

Nice list! If I could add one title that I think is underrated it would be Dead Calm with Sam Neil and Nicole Kidman
I had a really tough time to narrow down to 10. My tastes differ but I still think these are worth considering no matter one's taste:
40 Days 40 Nights - Comedy exploring commitment using Lent.
Alligator - Creature Horror and the 4K disc looks great.
Cashback - Romance, Drama, Fantasy and it just a beautiful story. Only way I was able to get Blu-ray was import from Japan with alternate title Frozen Time
Driven - Not a high IMDB score but I think it is a wholesome mentoring movie around racing starring Sylvester Stalone.
Evolution - Creature Horror Comedy. Incredible cast and just fun.
The Final Countdown - Sci-Fi exploring what if a modern aircraft carrier was available to prevent Pearl Harbor. Blue Underground 4K with upgraded audio is incredible.
Freeway - Kiefer Sutherland and Reese Witherspoon dark take on Little Red Riding Hood. A movie I never heard of before I got the Vinegar Syndrome 4K as part of my subscription.
Greedy - Comedy from the 90s starring Michael J Fox , Kirk Douglas and a bunch you would recognize.
Harlem Nights - Eddie Murphy, Richard Pryor in 1920s crime comedy.
Hollow Man - Paul Verhoeven take on the Invisible Man
L.A. Confidential - I remember it getting some attention when it came out but now seems forgotten. Great crime drama with an equally great cast.
No Man's Land - Another crime drama starring Charlie Sheen as the antagonist from the 80s
Officer Downe - Just an outrageous movie that I couldn't stop laughing and smiling throughout. But is does center around a zombie cop.
Possessor - A recent Brandon Cronenberg horror.
The Thomas Crown Affair (1999) - I just love this cat and mouse movie.
The Wraith - maybe this is a bad choice as can be considered "cult classic" but it is the original Fast and Furious but a horror version.
Some great titles in there (of the ones I seen). In fact, I'm actually going to be talking about a couple of the titles you mentioned in my next video (It can be a surprise LOL!). Also, thanks for the tip on the Wraith... I've never seen it, but you've piqued my interest (as both a horror and a Fast & Furious fan), and I'm putting it on my watch list. And I agree, Freeway is a really well-done 4K disc. I love the work VS does. And Reese Witherspoon's edgy performance in that is just awesome! So unlike most of her other stuff. Three films I would like to mention are Blue Ruin 2014 Crime/Drama, The Frozen Ground 2013 Crime/Thriller & The Rental 2020 Horror/Thriller. These are great movies still on the Blu ray format. Thank you for the video !

Great idea! Although for me, it would likely be a Top 5. Spielberg is one of those directors I have a great deal of respect for, but yet, I'm only really into certain films he's done... mainly the sci-fi and horror stuff (I'm mostly into his earlier films). But I might do such a list sometime and just keep it to his horror/sci-fi/action output. But if I do, I'll probably wait until after Duel is released on 4K so I can chat about it. Hi Fuzz, new subscriber. In case you haven’t heard already The Cure was released on Blu ray in North America on the Twilight Time label. Although it’s out of print it’s still available on the secondary market.
I'm not familiar with that movie. I will have to check it out. Are you talking about the 1995 film? I see several films by that name on IMDB. Thanks for watching and subbing!

@@TheDuckbacker Oh ok gotcha! That's good to know. I like what I've seen from Twilight Time, so it's cool that they took on the Fury. Great film... honestly, that's one I'd probably upgrade to 4K if they ever released it on the format (although it's hard to say if a 4K restoration/release would even be realistic for that title. Seems like a lot of people are not as familiar with that one).

As a non horror person who likes sci-fi, I would include AlienNation and Enemy Mine. Both are great flicks that no one seems to know about.
An Unfinished Life is a good film, too. While outside of the parameters of said movie genre, it is good flick with Robert Redford, Morgan Freeman, and Jennifer Lopez.
Good stuff. Alien Nation is a great film... in fact, you just reminded me I still need to pick that one up on physical media (I re-watched it on streaming about a year ago and hadn't seen it in many years). Love James Caan in that one. And I have seen Unfinished Life... I agree it was a pretty decent film. I don't think I've ever seen Enemy Mine, but I will definitely put it on my list to check out at some point. Thanks for watching and weighing in!

I’d say valerian is underrated.
I'm just not a big fan of the two lead actors. But outside of that, I think Valerian was a whole lot of fun! Luc Besson's style is so out there, that you just gotta love it!
Rollerball not available here in the UK, remake was rubbish

@@iloveblue7920 Yeah Witness is coming out from Arrow, so I'm a little surprised it's only being released in the U.S. right now. I'm guessing it must have something to do with the rights licensing from Paramount. Sometimes there are different licensing agreements for the U.S. vs. the U.K. Good film.
