- Bhel is a slightly sweet, spicy & sour chaat recipe made with puffed rice, chutneys, veggies & sev. It is very popular street food in India loved by so many people. There are two kinds of bhel, one is wet which is shown in this recipe. The other is dry (sukhi bhel) made without chutneys. Bhel is served as light evening snack or you can serve this to guests. Just prepare everything in advance and mix everything when you are ready to serve.
Tips:
1. To make crunchy bhel, dry roast the puffed rice slightly before you use them.
2. Do not add too much chutney at one time. Add a bit and mix then add more if needed.
3. Serve it immediately otherwise it will become soggy and you won’t enjoy it. So be quick in serving!

This recipe has about 2 serving | Preparation time: 25 mins | Cook time: 5 mins
INGREDIENTS
puffed rice - 2 cup
puri/ papdi - 7-8. *In case puri is not available, fry leftover roti & use it.
fried chana dal - 2 tbsp
roasted peanut - 2 tbsp
boiled chana/ chickpea - 2 tbsp
boiled potato - 3 tbsp
onion - 3 tbsp, finely chopped
tomato - 3 tbsp, chopped
cucumber - 2 tbsp, chopped
coriander - handful
green chilli - ½ tsp
tamarind chutney - 3 tbsp *can use ketchup instead of tamarind chutney.
coriander - mint chutney - 2 tbsp
red chilli powder - ½ tsp
chat masala -1 tsp
salt - as per taste
lemon juice - 1 tsp
sev or bhujiya - handful
