I loved this. I’m a eye test boxer analyst. What I mean by that is, having watched boxing since I was 6 with my dad who was a boxer and schooled me in it…my eyes tell me the skill level and the effectiveness of a guys style. I see what he does and how well it works. Then measure that against his opponent. I’ve basically seen all the greats, real time and now looking back on UA-cam. What I love about your analysis and that of others who can really break down someone’s style based on zones, foot work, defensive abilities and so forth is…it clarifies concretely what I see abstractly. Here in particular your focus on Ryan’s lead left used to parry and blind gives me some insight as to what I saw last night as an ineffective use of his jab. You married that to a set up of his left hook and the idea of him messing with people to lead them into something he wants them to do. So it’s a weapon… just a different kind of one. Actually it’s outside the box thinking. I’d prefer he used his jabs more as bad intentions jabs mixed in…but this makes some sense now. I thought last night his power would expose Haney…and it did. But I now see…in rounds he appears to just be giving away…this may have been a lure to making Haney comfortable and thus unaware something else was coming when he least expected it. Whether planned or not…that’s indeed what happened. Great breakdown. I have a great appreciation for what guys like you do. Well done.
I think so many people too often forget he is a legitimate elite boxer who competed in top level as an amateur. Sure, he is lazy (and getting lazier) and making all kinds of issues on social network begging for attention now, but still since his childhood he has competed in elite level boxing.
I feel like Ryan's style is made for the amateurs because he always looks for the counter punch since in amateurs they're more aggressive and he uses his jab to win rounds when the opponent is more passive
Exactly that’s why he is so successful during amateurs but struggled to reach the level of Haney , tank , Lopez is because the style isn’t as effective . Ryan Garcia is going to be the best current boxer in the world. This technique is severely underrated because it is rare and only works if you are extremely fast. Honestly, it is also the ultimate technique if you are facing someone slower than you. Counter punch mastery reminiscent of Bruce Lee’s Jeet Kune Do.
Facts not only that the thing that makes Ryans technique so over powered is that he is an orthodox fighter and his dominant hand is his left hand so his Jab is literally his power shot he can literally just counter punch without having to reach to hit his opponent
When I use to kickbox I learn later on to develop a good left hook, I wish I would've learned it much earlier on it would've been a great asset to my boxing arsenal. Later on it become my most powerful and effect punch. A lot of folks do give Ryan the respect he deserves, he's a skilled boxer and has done well for himself. Some fighters have great boxing careers yet are never respected like Joe Calzaghe and Ryan Garcia has been robbed of their recognition that they deserved for some unknown reason. High stance alone is an entire trap in itself. He has that back hand to parry and his major weapon being his left hook makes for a very quick and short punch with incredible knockout power. It’s super deceiving for fighters even when they’re expecting him to do it
I see Eric Morales in Ryan Garcia. You would think you can outbox him in the center of the ring but once he starts on the offensive he will overwhelm you with attacks while constantly moving forward. His stance also helps him being upright he has a longer point of view of where you are and where your offence is coming from. Your big advantage is the element of surprise and his predictability.. Throw a punch between his or plan a really really accurate counter just like Tank did.
Nice breakdown. Besides being one of the most naturally gifted boxers of our time, Ryan is very strategic. Ironically, the less that hardcore understand boxing, the more they underestimate him. On the flip side, people who know nothing about boxing are his main fanbase🤷🏿♂️. If Ryan would stop dropping his hands in range, retreat at angles sometimes - instead of straight back with his chin high, learn some guard peels and posture controls to add to his probes and head control, and add a rear hand uppercut to his punch arsenal, he might be virtually unbeatable. His hand speed, reflexes, recognition, ability to create power by using his kinetic chain, and hand-eye coordination make him a constant threat to stop anyone at any time.
My biggest problem with ryan is he has a fast n strong jab but just doesnt use it except for setting up a 3 piece combo. But he should throw it more to control the space n make his opponent respect the space he fighting at since he is long
he also has developed a bad habit of overly head hunting at times, like in the fight against tank he threw the left too much just aiming for the head instead of mixing it like he would do previously making for a repetitive attack sequence which is also one of the reasons to why he gets countered alongside the lowering of his hand if he were to break those habits he would be even more a pain to these other boxers
See people be doubting him, I think he has what it takes to edge a decision over Haney! With that being said, what do you think about a Jared boots Ennis breakdown?
Yes there’s much more to his style. Anyone who says otherwise doesn’t have a clue. Every fighter has their go to or favorite punch. The old saying; speed kills. Ryan has speed in spades and that speed and the whip on his hook is what generates so much power. And yes, his Philly shell is ugly but it is effective and throws off the other guy.
After his win against devin people immedietly switched sides lmao. It's annoying how so many people disregard his boxing skills just because of his social media fame, What they don't know is that his social media fame brings in a lot of people and thus big money, It's frustrating to see people don't give him credit cuz they can't accept that someone who is handsome and a social media star can also be an elite boxer. These are the same guys who see girls flex their handsome bfs in the internet and comment "he can't fight tho 🥊😭"
If he learns his to move his head and fight on his toes and also work on more body work and combinations he’ll be a very efficient fighter and tougher opponent for those who goes up against him even the best of the best
Love content like this. Looking forward to his fight with Haney since people are sleeping on Garcia, but styles make fights. Would love to see ones for Fury and Usyk.
Ryan’s defense is his crazy fast and powerful offense. Once you nullify his offense he becomes vulnerable. Although severely dehydrated vs tank and he himself admitted to blowing his load in the early half due to this tank was able to nullify his offense and tag him in his compromised rib. Ko
As seen in the video, he has great arsenals, but very bad bad predictability. He always tries to lure and bait opponent for the left hook, which is a great arsenal but just too predictable. Guys on top level like Tank or others can exploit that predictability. Also, as mentioned here, he doesn't know how to utilize jab as a jab. His jab almost always is used for single purpose of baiting or simple pressuring. Naturally, this becomes a big advantage against top level guys who knows how to use jab. Once you lose the jab game, you are pretty much waiting for one big punch or loss. I see him as a slugger type of boxer. He relies on his speed, power and looks for one big punch. He has tried to adjust his style for last 2 years, but as we all know, when you get shaken in the match, you always go back to your original natural style. He is certainly exciting to watch, a rare type of slugger in lighter weight, but I just don't see him being able to compete against top level guys in the division. You gotta have it all in order to compete in that level. You should know how to use jab, how to set up, how to make yourself unpredictable, how to confuse your opponent, but Garcia...just doesn't have those skills. In many ways Garica is similar to Romero. Both got power, both got speed, but both of them lack those skills. They rely on big big punches, they don't know how to build a punch slowly and subtly.
Good breakdown. His reliance on athleticism and lack of defense will hurt him against the elite. The chin in the air with his right hand down is frustrating to watch.
ROFL, Devin 'Pillow Hands' Haney doesn't destroy anyone. He rides them to the 12th than hugs them for dear life! He's got the weakest KO ration compared to all of the other elite fighters of his weight.

These are the same guys who see girls flex their handsome bfs in the internet and comment "he can't fight tho 🥊😭"
He can't seem to keep his guard up . He throws that left lightning quick, but he's nearly always wide open after every punch .
That is his #1, primary issue. His own corner has told him in various fights to keep it up because he's getting clipped after every missed left hook.
Well explained video
He needs to work on his defense and head movement. He always shells up and gives his opponents his back and it makes him look very unskilled
Day 16 of asking for a naoya inoue breakdown / analysis
❤👑🔥TEAMGARCIA❤👑🔥💯
If he learns his to move his head and fight on his toes and also work on more body work and combinations he’ll be a very efficient fighter and tougher opponent for those who goes up against him even the best of the best
Love content like this. Looking forward to his fight with Haney since people are sleeping on Garcia, but styles make fights.
Would love to see ones for Fury and Usyk.
STYLES MAKE FIGHTS AMEN! Usyk and Fury coming soon...
aged nice
People often mistake an unorthodox technique with no technique because it’s not what they expect.
12:08 daaam Tank I felt that
His left hooks remind me of TIto Trinidad's.
Boxer from Puerto Rico. He just lets it go and lets it whip.
Ryan’s defense is his crazy fast and powerful offense. Once you nullify his offense he becomes vulnerable. Although severely dehydrated vs tank and he himself admitted to blowing his load in the early half due to this tank was able to nullify his offense and tag him in his compromised rib. Ko
I don't like his lifestyle but I love to watch him fight
plz make a breakdown on Artur Beterbiev😘😄😄
Soon my friend...
I hope he gets some more fights under his belt then rematches Tank. He did a lot better than people give him credit for.
I would like to see better head movement and dirty boxing on the inside to smother attacks.
the Ryan and Leonard😂😂😂
need a video on inoue
the dude backs up in a strait line when pressured. its what he does prior to turning his back to them, its gonna get him got
Damn making me feel like I can get in the ring and just do Ryan moves 😅
Sure you can bro it's sooo easy you going to be a champion
I feel bad for cc who feel the need to make content about this guy
Good breakdown. His reliance on athleticism and lack of defense will hurt him against the elite. The chin in the air with his right hand down is frustrating to watch.
that left hook would be more devastating if he mix it with feint and divesify it as Canelo does
Yeaashhhh RYAN GARCIIAAAAAAA
Ryan's only chance of winning against Haney is by KO
Which has a big chance of happening
Ryan is screwed
@@AceeTheChosenonb😂
@@shanebodnar9861how devin never been knocked out in his career
@@shanebodnar9861theres no chance he lacks focus... his timing will be off this fight n he will learn
Please do Issac Cruz!!
1:17 Devin Haney gonna destroy this
ROFL, Devin 'Pillow Hands' Haney doesn't destroy anyone. He rides them to the 12th than hugs them for dear life! He's got the weakest KO ration compared to all of the other elite fighters of his weight.
@@TechieTard im hurt
Crazy aha at least you can admit it, what a fight!
how come the reach becomes shorter with a taller stance?
Known or not Ryan has fought dangerous fighters
Nahhhhh bruh he be cheesing off that 50/50 we love and die by those lmao
