Is not really, unless you just watch and watch UA-cam without end, or dedicate a portion of your time to it on purpose. TV is an equivalent of TikTok, you thinking about Tokyo Portfolio and typing that into search to see if they have anything new, is a bit better
Even though the second apartment has a somewhat outdated vibe, I find it very appealing due to its layout, the size of the living space, and the view. I'd say, "I'll take it." But the third apartment... despite being a bit more expensive, having less square footage, and requiring the windows in the lower bedroom to be at least partially covered with frosted film for privacy, it really gives you something to think about. The two outdoor spaces are amazing. And if it would be possible to add a mezzanine in the room with the incredibly high ceiling...
don't really see a point in covering any windows there, would be possible to add another lofted space, or just expanded story, but that would defeat the design of the apartment and it would not be nice anymore. A mezzanine would be too low.
The third one was incredible. I loved the mix of indoor and outdoor space. I always found a full backyard so wasteful, but most patios rather small. This feels like the perfect middle ground. You can always add blinds if wanted too, otherwise the natural sunlight is a great addition to the property.
I'd go for the second apartment for just the view of tokyo tower alone. It seems to be a lovely place in a good location, and those views are to die for. Just imagine coming home, settling on the sofa and look out the window to see that view. I'd instantly unwind and love the fact that I'd live in such a gorgeous city.
I really love the view from the 2nd unit (can't beat the Tokyo Tower!) and it's such a practical unit (I can see myself renting something like this for a couple months for short-term living...or even buying an unit like this down in the road). I can see my kids loving the third unit though! Such a luxury to have a massive outdoor balcony from the apartment unit!!! The first unit would be my dream unit to have in my 20s/early 30s :)
All 3 are nice, but the 3rd home with the balcony is my favorite. That upstairs room would be an excellent office, and the balcony would be perfect for BBQ parties.
I like the 2nd one for having more space than the 1rst. That 3rd one's my second favorite just because of the ability to have a more separate guest bedroom, an office, or a fancy social gathering spot
I thought the second one was by far my favourite place... Until you showed the rooftop balcony of the last place ! That is something that can't be topped, not even by the possible close-up view of Tokyo Tower at night !
Induction stoves are great for warm climates. Rather than having a heating element, giving off heat, and another object trying to pick up that heat, the object is being heated by a coil under the glass. It's similar to how wireless charging works on phones. A traditional stove lets over 50% of the heat out the sides as you cook food. That heats up the whole room a lot. Limiting it to just the object the food is in reduces ambient heat by a significant amount.
The first one - so classy. If I had the money, I’d have to trade the awesome views of the 2nd apartment and the great outdoor spaces of the 3rd apartment, for the stylish interiors of the 1st apartment.
Definitely the second one. The others are cool to look at but I could never live there with the strange layouts. The second is a classic setup and I love it.
the last one was by far the best and seemed like your getting something super fancy for the high price the other 2 were just apartments nothing special about them but still cost alot.
#3 is the best and it's really not even close. I pay 3400usd for my spot in higashiazabu and it can go toe to toe with the first two listings here. Fun video and close to home!
The second apartment is solid for your whole life. The third apartment is nice in young to middle age with no kids and the first apartement is a nice single in and out ;D
Second is my favourite. It has bar table, large bedrooms with good closets, view and even garbage shreder. Never heard of microwave + GAS oven combo. Sounds crazy to not just make it all electric. I really love first balcony with planter in third appartment, but the rest of it, not so much. I do actually like my privacy. Fist had terrible bathroom - nice toilet, but cleaning behind sink is pain and cleaning behind bath tub? NOPE! Also showering with closed curtains seems like terrible idea and then to dry it out… Would like to see something in South Edogawa. Really liked my month stay there 2 years ago.
First one is more of a "cool as a concept", I like the design of the kitchen, but the other parts are kind of meh. Second one feels way more practical to me, especially for the similar price. Last one is small for its price, and just isn't as livable as the first two. I'd pick the second one definitely
both are similarly livable, even if you need a separate bedroom for some reason, it is enough, the loft, of a separation. But having bedroom and living room downstairs. Honestly I'd Never use the kitchen area for what I should use it, I'd just use the second floor as a chill space, after working th3re
Nicely rennovated Studio, but given that its an old building and newer buildings arent allowed such large areas without walls or pillars, I wonder how save it will be during a large earthquake, which is my no.1 criteria when looking for apartments in Japan.
Impressive. That first place is 15m^2 smaller than mine, and about $3600 more expensive/month. Which includes a newly renovated kitchen, new wood floors in all the rooms, new electric bits and things. This place does have a nicer bathroom though.
I'm amazed at how weird the layouts are, especially for the price. The first one is big enough to be a proper family apartment, yet was made into a studio with a whole bunch of empty space. The second one is massive, yet only has 2 bedrooms and a living room. I've seen apartments half that size that were more useable. The last one is quite unique with the open room upstairs and the massive windows, so I can at least somehow understand it, it leaned into the weird layout. They are very big apartments, yet look barely more comfortable than a 60 m^2 one.
Can you make more of the "budget" or bit cheaper properties? Of course it isnt only the price, but i have the feeling, that the higher the price, the more uniform the apartment becomes. (maybe its also an age thingy)
My husband and I always love watching a new video and dreaming about moving our family to Japan, but we dont often see family homes or ones with more than two bedrooms. Are three and four bedroom homes just unheard of and ridiculously hard to find in Japan? If so, I challenge you to find them for your next video.😅
@TokyoPortfolio Wow, okay. Does that mean that people with 3+ kids would have to search for larger homes in more rural areas outside of Tokyo? 🤔 Or is it the same kind of situation there as well?
Most people with a family (and money) just buy land and build a house through a “house maker”. They will also likely choose somewhere slightly more west of Tokyo rather than the most expensive stations shown in these videos (can find many land options with a 20-40 minute commute to one of Tokyo’s major stations). Can get a brand new house as nice (or nicer) as what’s shown on this channel, but larger, in the $500k-$800k range.
If I was a bachelor, the first one. If I had a family the second one. If I primarily worked from home, the 3rd one (would make the upstairs my office space).
im kinda curious what you could get for $4k in shinjuku/shibuya if you don't necessarily need to be in azabu. but this is super entertaining and informative thank you!
I kinda wish you showed us the balcony of the 2nd apartment. I always need a balcony when I live in an apartment block. nice place to drink your morning coffee or hot chocolate cup. a small chair, table and some green plants.
on the last one....I like the ability to have green on the balconies and is there a water source for them and how do you dispose of spent plant materials and who cleans all those windows - are there fees for maintenance? What do the utilities run? I think the first one was beautiful but a little too modern for me, i like something a little more organic and spacious so the last one would be my pick absolutely.
The last one was worth the money. The other 2 while nice were very uninspiring. I like that you had planters and 2 balconies in the last one. Anyone that could afford any of these should probably just splurge a bit more for the last one
Nice apartments but hmm... I'm looking at buying a place near Oimachi and thankfully, while expensive, isn't as high-priced as these places! Though I'm also considering Kawasaki and the like, Musashi-Kousugi, Mizonokuchi, Kawasaki... I rather like living in Kanagawa.
As beautiful as the first one is, it's still a studio with an exhibitionist's bathroom. The second just didn't really hit any buttons. The third has some nice features, but the kitchen feels claustrophobic and having lived in a place without an oven before, that's an issue. If I had to live in one, I'd take the third
What makes the bathroom in that studio weird was the fact that it was covered by curtains, not one of those fancy privacy glass things. Even if there was some kind of contract to limit the kinds of renovations to that unit, you'd think just changing the glass type was possible.
Hiroo is by far my favorite. The space and so modern. The second one was alright, with a view on Tokyo Tower. The last apartment was really dark, but had the best view. And don’t eat at Gonpachi? I was there in 2016 and thought it was fine. Are other restaurants better or has it become so bad?
hahaha IDK I like at least 1 thing from them all but the last one was pretty cool to bad I cant afford to live in Japan 😭but I LOVE your videos thanks for the tour
To put this in perspective.. I live in Southwest Pennsylvania and live in a 3 bedroom home that has a two-sided fireplace in the living room for $800 a month 🤣👌
I just realized that watching these walkthroughs of fancy apartments in Japan is the equivalent of my parents watching HG TV shows.
LMAO so true
Lol
Is not really, unless you just watch and watch UA-cam without end, or dedicate a portion of your time to it on purpose. TV is an equivalent of TikTok, you thinking about Tokyo Portfolio and typing that into search to see if they have anything new, is a bit better
hgtv never died, it just switched media platforms and expanded by individual artists lol
This UA-cam channel about cool crazy socks is good because it also feature some really nice Japanese properties.
he always has the most random strange socks lol
so true. My choice in Japanese properties is based on the socks he features.
Hope TP could do 101 tutorial on owning property in Japan from foreigner POV. Good bad and ugly process. Tho other YT channels says it's same as US.
nice to see you back touring apartments
Even though the second apartment has a somewhat outdated vibe, I find it very appealing due to its layout, the size of the living space, and the view. I'd say, "I'll take it."

The two outdoor spaces are amazing. And if it would be possible to add a mezzanine in the room with the incredibly high ceiling...
The second place would be perfect if the wall separating the kitchen and the bedroom hall were knocked down, and the bathroom were upgraded.
don't really see a point in covering any windows there, would be possible to add another lofted space, or just expanded story, but that would defeat the design of the apartment and it would not be nice anymore. A mezzanine would be too low.
The 2nd one, $4400 Azabujuban, seems to be very practical and have a good view of the tower. Very spacious with lots of programmable space
and views of airconditioners.
That last apartment was really something, must be such a cool space to live in - just imagine waking up and having that view!
imagine it at night time with the city all lit up.
Babe wake up, a new Tokyo Portfolio video just dropped!!!
Finally more apartment videos. Never knew how much I missed these.
The third one was incredible. I loved the mix of indoor and outdoor space. I always found a full backyard so wasteful, but most patios rather small. This feels like the perfect middle ground. You can always add blinds if wanted too, otherwise the natural sunlight is a great addition to the property.
Love it, more of these please, not the old boring prefab apartments, I love to see more of these uniquely designed apartments.
5:30 quality old man noise, I sound like that every time I get up too ;)
I gotta admit, that first studio apartment was pretty amazing. It's gotta be my favorite one.
I'd love to know what you could get in the countryside like places like Gunma Prefecture. Hope you could do a video like that in the future.
yep that would be really nice
probably 150m" and a garden xD
the tokyo tower view in the 2nd apartment is literally to die for, my jaw dropped
Love the Hirro layout of the home
I'd go for the second apartment for just the view of tokyo tower alone. It seems to be a lovely place in a good location, and those views are to die for. Just imagine coming home, settling on the sofa and look out the window to see that view. I'd instantly unwind and love the fact that I'd live in such a gorgeous city.
The second apartment caught my attention most.
Based on the title I was expecting a large tent pitched in a public park..
He changed it😂
I don't know how I feel about bathroom with glass walls :|
It's for people who spend 15000/month on escort.
It's gonna make you real familiar with the squeegee.
Many hosts and hostess will love it!
@@diametheuslambda If you spend $5k on rent and $15k on escorts, you can afford a cleaner to do that for you.
Imagine seeing your guest take a dump from the living room
Love the second apartment 😊❤.
I really love the view from the 2nd unit (can't beat the Tokyo Tower!) and it's such a practical unit (I can see myself renting something like this for a couple months for short-term living...or even buying an unit like this down in the road). The first unit would be my dream unit to have in my 20s/early 30s :)
the 3rd apartment definitely looks amazing. thr double high ceiling makes the place look huge.
Liked both the 2nd and 3rd ones a lot!
Love the first place. I don't know where to put am office space though.
I enjoyed #3 with all the outdoor space you got. Would probably have my bedroom up the stairs for even more privacy.
All 3 are nice, but the 3rd home with the balcony is my favorite. That upstairs room would be an excellent office, and the balcony would be perfect for BBQ parties.
Here to see what fun socks he is wearing this time 😄🙌🏻
The 3rd one was my favorite, that view
I always enjoy your videos! They are always so informational and really interesting!
The GOAT keep it up!
I like the 2nd one for having more space than the 1rst. That 3rd one's my second favorite just because of the ability to have a more separate guest bedroom, an office, or a fancy social gathering spot
Man, I need to get rich. Someday, I'm going to come buy a place from you.
My fantasy, too.
0:08 daaaamn that Fairlady Z looks clean!
I thought the second one was by far my favourite place...
Until you showed the rooftop balcony of the last place !
That is something that can't be topped, not even by the possible close-up view of Tokyo Tower at night !
i hope u upload the next video next time sooner) I like your videos despite I could not afford 5000 a month for a flat

Love the first place!
The view from Azabujuban apartment is fantastic
I wish there was a channel like yours for France, since that's where I'll be moving to in a few years.
the last one was by far the best and seemed like your getting something super fancy for the high price the other 2 were just apartments nothing special about them but still cost alot.

The third apartment was insane. It have everything to create your own oasis
I love these vids❤!!

Nice tee! Excited for his new album!
Number 3 is definitely my favorite!
He is good with the presentation. A good sales person, excellent.
Apartment 2 and 3 were amazing. If I were looking a studio, apartment 1 would be great.

3, love the outdoor spaces
#3 all the way! Love the balconies - that's the big draw
nishiazabu was insane 😍
I love all three, although there are points where I would be putting up towel hangars and shelving. I'm also terrified of microwave radiation.
My husband and I always love watching a new video and dreaming about moving our family to Japan, but we dont often see family homes or ones with more than two bedrooms. Are three and four bedroom homes just unheard of and ridiculously hard to find in Japan? If so, I challenge you to find them for your next video.😅
There's not that many 3+ bed apartments in Tokyo. It's something like 20% of the total
@TokyoPortfolio Wow, okay. Does that mean that people with 3+ kids would have to search for larger homes in more rural areas outside of Tokyo? 🤔 Or is it the same kind of situation there as well?

Greetings Alex hope your well x many Greetings from the uk x
Number is my favorite by far!
All of your videos are very beautiful
I like the second one. Hypothetically, how much would it be if it was for sale?
Number 2 is absolute winner with that view.
Number 1's bathroom is just a little bit too "transparent" for my taste.
Excellent video, thank you!
Bathroom in #1, "Hey, how ya' doing?" "Doin' good!!! How's it shakein'?"
If I was a bachelor, the first one. If I had a family the second one. If I primarily worked from home, the 3rd one (would make the upstairs my office space).

#3, would love to live there
I kinda wish you showed us the balcony of the 2nd apartment.
I always need a balcony when I live in an apartment block. nice place to drink your morning coffee or hot chocolate cup. a small chair, table and some green plants.
It's not much of a balcony honestly, very small and not a great view.
Number 1 . Cool, sophisticated and modern
I would love to see more Uniquely Japanese apartments.
Out of those three I preferred the last one.
@11:49 what is that door with the green light on it? I assume it's for evacuation purposes?
3:15 "this is where your storage is"
3:45 No, THIS is where your storage is!
on the last one....I like the ability to have green on the balconies and is there a water source for them and how do you dispose of spent plant materials and who cleans all those windows - are there fees for maintenance? The last one looks fantastic, just wonder how structural sound it would be during and earthquake.
The last one was worth the money. The other 2 while nice were very uninspiring.
I like that you had planters and 2 balconies in the last one. Anyone that could afford any of these should probably just splurge a bit more for the last one
They're all nice, but I really could see myself in the 2nd one.
yes new video
I've been to that pizza spot! 1:24
Friend that lives there always has us go after working. One of the few places with a tip jar in Japan 😂
the order from best to "worst" whould be 2, 3, 1. they are all nice houses sadly they cost mor per month than i get per month lol
this is not bad. a power couple definition for sure.

2nd is the best for useability. 3rd is a bachelor pad. 1st is just wasting money away. I think 2nd is the best for my taste.
if i had the money id pack up and move to the 3rd apartment in a heartbeat.
Lol. Calling out the Japanese cameraman for not knowing about the milk cupboard
To put this in perspective.. I live in Southwest Pennsylvania and live in a 3 bedroom home that has a two-sided fireplace in the living room for $800 a month 🤣👌
I like the middle one best
Day 🔆 and nighttime 🌃 shots of those great views would've been appreciated in this video.
Hiroo was my number 1
You can her the aging at 5:30 🤣
