Bill Skarsgard is starring in a new adaptation of The Crow. While it's not the same as the Brandon Lee version, it looks like they're at least going for a different vibe. Remakes are supposed to change up the original enough to modernize it for a new audience. While I'm confused about the direction of the character's look, I'll reserve judgment for when the movie actually comes out.

Seriously what is that S?!t?! The Crow is one of the best Movies ever. Brandon Lee, the Gothic-Look and the Grunge/Rock-Soundtrack is just Perfection. This is a new Low for Hollywood. They turned Eric Draven into a MGK-Crackhead. WTF?!

The benchmark is too high for The Crow. The sequels couldn't come close to the original and neither will the reboot. Not to be a hater, but I don't have a lot of faith in this retelling.
I guess we'll have to see when it comes out!
People walked out on screenings, but I'll still give it a go since I'm a huge fan on the original

I don’t know that I’ve ever been immediately turned off by a movie like this. The Crow is my favorite movie ever and this looks fucking terrible. Like a mix of Post Malone and Jared Leto‘s Joker. Good God. 🤦🏼♂
We can only hope that they turn it around.
They really took inspiration from lil peep and post malone instead of the actual source material.

It's not exactly the same, but it vaguely reminds me of Wild Justice's hero albeit with hair. His markings took the form of tattoos all over his body. I don't think that's what they're doing here, because those look like regular tattoos.
Aside from the LOOK, what you described they're going for with the SoundCloud rapper stuff doesn't sound very interesting to me. They could have just used one of the dozen or so other The Crow comics or even made an original version.
We'll have to see when it comes out, but being left confused by the look isn't a good start.
Based solely on the pics, so far, this looks like absolutely shit.

No. Absolutely not. Not ever. This was already a disrespectful pile of shit before I saw the pictures. I'm pretending this doesn't exist. Soon it'll be forgotten like most remakes anyway. Can't wait for the original on 4K, though.
Unfortunately this movie is a product of its time and the timeframe it exists in, so it basically reflects the crappy society we have today.
