I think that PIP and ESA health assessments should be done by the person's General practitioner (GP) or specialty doctor. It's as if the DWP don't trust the GPs or specialty doctors to do this.

Not in their interest as they would end up paying more claimants the benefits they deserve.

Many thanks Stu for such an informative & helpful channel. I learn so much from you, particularly whilst navigating PIP. Thanks also for reading out my comments - I thought it was important to encourage others who’ve had poor PIP assessments to persevere with a Tribunal. I’d like to provide voluntary practical assistance in this area, though I’m not professionally qualified. Do you have any suggestions on which organisations to approach or how I could accomplish this please? (Will be writing to MPs, petitioning & spreading awareness about the dodgy PIP assessments etc.) All the best.

I have cptsd from severe child abuse by a narcissist mother. This put my central nervous system in ‘fight or flight’ mode, permanently. This lead to my fibromyalgia, chronic pain and fatigue. My last living relative died and left me money. I bought a house with that for me and my daughters. DWP did not like that I’m being currently investigated by the criminal division. Because my relative was in the states and put that money in the states in a trust. Because of the different banks involved to transfer money, I think the bank reported me to DWP. I’m on UC and it’s been over 6 months waiting to hear about disability payments. I don’t have any money anywhere now and depend on benefits to buy items to help with my mobility like certain coffee, sugar etc., containers I can open etc. eventually I think I will need either mobility scooter/ car as my lower back and hips getting worse. I have to wait and see what happens to me.

Thanks as always Stu for taking the time to answer my question. I think you and I have similar views on the way this government do things. They do what they do whenever they want to and change the rules if they don't suit them but for the most part there's nothing we can do about it. I think the vote against them poking around in ppl's bank accounts will get plenty of support but I also think it'll get totally buried as well. Sorry for being a downer, just not feeling great atm. Hope you and Becky are well, take care.

Redacting items on your bank statement may all be very well now but once they start allowing themselves to start dipping into everyone's accounts at will, there won't be much point. :/

Heard dwp is adding disability premiums to uc, the ones you got on the legacy benefits. Is this for the pip daily care recipents who transition from legacy benefits to uc from feb 14th onwards or for every one on pip daily care receiving uc?

Thanks Stu. I applied for PIP and was turned down even though the The Social Security (Personal Independence Payment) Regulations 2013 quite categorically state that I should be eligible according to my circumstances. I then requested a Mandatory Reconsideration and was denied again. I then requested an appeal to the Upper Tribunal and that has been rejected too. I don't know what to do because the criteria is very clear and I am eligible and meet the required criteria with ease and they recognise I have health issues. Do you have any suggestions please?

    Hi Stu. Quick question:
I am on Universal Credit and am getting limited capability and work related top up. When I reach retirement age, which will be in 9 months, will the limited capability still continue to be paid to me, or will I lose it? Thanx, in advance for your channel and the advise you give.

Ive just received my ADP decision and backpayment (2K). The issue is that they havent given me anything for mobility. I have severe agoraphobia and this doesnt seem to make sense so Im considering an appeal. My query is if they reconsider it can I come out with less points would that mean I have to pay back the backpayment?

I've just received my hearing date, and it will be 2 years and 3 months since I applied.
On my appeal they couldn't get through to my phone and the original assessor was lazy and repeated the same sentences through every question and the same stuff was used for appeal.

Hello Stu I understand that the transition payment on universal credit will rise on the 14th February and keep rising with inflation which is good news! Could you do a section on this on your next programme? I'm interested if and when they are going to start making payments to people that loss money over the years. I don't think a lot of disabled people realise how important the court case taken by two people over two years ago. Many people including myself could get payments over £4,000. Regards John Hughes

So many people on the wrong benefit. Nobody can get pip.
There's no point sitting here talking about your benefit because you already know answer you're getting nothing you've got to fight for it
People are going to the court tribunal for the first time you're going to be waiting up to one year
That's the rules of the game. It's your first tribunal and you're going to be waiting one year

I didn’t have to fill in any forms for pip or limited capacity for work, not 1. They referred me for a assessment which was done over the phone and that was it. I didn’t get pip which I didn’t even try to get & Im not bothered as I do work part time sometimes. I did get limited capacity for work & work related activities though 👍
