You Are so Awsom to understand the wire diagrams. I really enjoy watching this!!
There's a George in the machine 👻
Nice work as always and a really cool machine to go with ❤
Thank you for watching!
Appreciate this videos! I have found that when a decagon sticks when rolling to 9 the teeth on the drive spool are not lined up correctly with the ones on the drive rack
Electro-mechanical devices are such finickly beasts. Previous repair attempts usually bite the last guy ( you) in the butt
when they eventually fail one way or another. Nice to see you can get this machine working as intended once again. It
was so much fun watching you play it at the end.
love your videos man, every cabinet not being mulched down into fertilizer is another semi immovable chunk of history kept intact, also the tip about the nail polish in the comments is spot on, a bit harsh and abrasive but ittl do the job just fine.

This is good to know Ron thank you for all you do,your[ awesome]
Joe, can you show us your triple thick technique? Would greatly appreciate it.
Hi. That’s a mighty fine looking machine now. Well done on finishing it up you had me worried in the last video. But broke now its not. Sure the costumer will be delighted with it I know I would. Bob.
I salute you on this 4th of July for resuscitating this and all other pinballs throughout the year. Truly enjoy your videos and humor.

Great job Ronnie. This machine was just a half step away from landfill, or at least being parted out. You saved it, and sorted out its many problems. I’ve never seen a machine with so many mangled switches before this. For machines that were only designed to last 5 years, these machines sure defy the laws of gravity. … as long as someone like you comes along. Well done Ronnie and Joe. another classic Gottlieb saved.
Gravity?
@@BaccarWozat- The law of gravity states "What goes up, must come down". What he meant is these machines were made to make money for 5 years, after that, these machines were meant to be trashed or parted out. This machine went up when it was made, but after all these years it is still complete after 47 years. It hasn't come down to be trashed yet. It has survived its main purpose to make money, before it was supposed to be thrown away!
Hello from Phoenix Arizona❕🔥

Yes, Phoenix Arizona❕🔥
Hello❕🖐
It is interesting that motor 1A and motor 4A both look like clock pulses on 2 different phases.
Yup it's basically the same idea. You can see how they transferred a lot of what they were doing with switches into electronics basically acting like switches....
Well, it’s taken me several hundred videos, but I had my epiphany moment at 20:40; I was actually shouting at the screen “4C must be closed as well!” before you did! First time I’ve felt I’ve learnt anything in the last 35 years! Seriously, though, I learn a little with every one of your videos, and you sharing them is so very much appreciated. Regards
That sounds really cool. Very hard chimes and thuds
That stuck ball looks like a magnet 🧲
really enjoted this series of rejuvenation, than you for filming for us guys x
0:01 I have a copy of that Nintendo strategy book on the floor facing the camera. Doesn't bring back any fond memories though, I have a bunch of those. Strategy guides by people who didn't know all the tips, tricks or secrets, and usually couldn't take decent screen photographs. But it was all I had until I got to the point where I could afford the games themselves.
Congrats on finishing the work on the pinball game! I love detailed looks at the inner workings of old electromechanical devices, though sometimes you just can't beat solid state integrated circuits. I mean, it might damage them.
Don't beat them solid states!
What a serious restoration on this machine. Great job as always.
Happy 4th from Canada Ron. Great job as usual on this machine. Cheers!
I always loved this machine. They are getting hard to find. Very cool game.
Awesome game. One of my favorites.
looks a nice machine
It's a nice little design, they did a great job with this one!
The hanging ball can also be fixed with auto clear touchup/clear nail polish. You can just use the brush to dab some in the divit. You can also use a needle to drop it in. It will self level.
Great series Ronnie, Looks great and plays well. Cool, how it was July Fourth and the game title is Spirit of 76 and the final video you put out on the 4th. see you on the next video.
Believe it or not, it was completely accidental, I didn't even realize until the morning of the 4th!
That came up real well! The explanation on the score real switch tension was very helpful, I’m sure I’ll use that info in the future.
Thanks👍. A whole lot of hassle for almost nothing on these 4 score wheels. Indeed, in a UA-cam interview with Wayne Neyens (Gottlieb's board designer during the company's golden age), Wayne recounts how Gottlieb had sought to assess the value of putting 4 players on their games. To do this, they put counters on each player of machines offered to the public. They found that the 4th player was hardly ever used, and not much more the 3rd. But they continued to make them because operators asked for them!
Happy 4th! Yeah, those score reel switches are tricky. Gottlieb made everything so darn small. They are hard to adjust once they get out of whack.
Happy Treason Day! Tried to watch this last night and couldn't for all the fireworks, sounded like a war zone in my area.
They're just celebrating their country by blowing up a small portion of it
@@LyonsArcade I'd be a-okay with that, just not at 2 am... my neighbors are bonkers.
I just love these videos. Thank you! I was never been interested in pinball until I ran across your channel. Can you talk about pricing? This is a huge amount of labor ... between the parts and labor, what does it cost you to refurbish a machine like this and what does it sell for eventually?
Good job Ron, you and Joe made that play field very nice after the rat piss and shit... I know you'll figure it out, can't wait to watch you play it
its fun. its fun. still lovin it.
Hey could you possibly do a full restore to like new with one of them?
I personally couldn't, I wouldn't really want one that was like new or want to spend the time making it that way. It can be done though, lots of people do it.
@LyonsArcade I just thought it might be interesting, but that's cool, what you do is awesome.
do you think an airbrush would be better for the back glass?
I like some EM machines, but I must say the invention of kickers really made a pinball machine. without them it is uh well. Just my opinion still a great game.
Almost all EM's have kickers, those came along in like 1932. They can't make every single game have the same exact layout at the bottom so they have to try something different like this at some point. It's like saying
"My favorite food is sea urchin!" and then you have Sea Urchin. Then the next night, instead of a steak, you say "a steak is not as good as Sea Urchin!" and won't eat a steak.
Imagine a library with your favorite book in it.... and 10,000 copies of your favorite book. That would be a little boring, we need a little variety
Okay I like pinball games that have kickers. That simple. LOL.
How are you doing that ? Getting the ball to stick there ?
It's George!
@@LyonsArcade- George definitely likes driving games, but plays pinball when the driving game runs out of gas.
Schematics... no schematics ... I still wouldn’t have figured it out. 😆
Nice work on this one Ron. My only fault, if you can call it that, is that you didn't do your traditional "lets read the instructions" before playing it. I've been looking to one day add one of the old patriotic games of that era. There are a few.
I did on the previous ones I did of this, there's a playlist here on the channel (I think we've done two or three of this same game!)
@@LyonsArcade thanks. I’ll go check them out
The lubricant could have been glycerine or something. That won't attack plastic, but oil (and particularly any sort of petroleum oil/grease) will.
What did they originally use on the tape head stepper of 8-track players? I've always suspected it might have been organic. It sometimes has a smell.
@@samuelcolvin4994 I don't know. Good question.
(13:50) You messed up, Ron. All the player scores are in binary.
Its not suppose to do that, when it goes to second player first player lights go out. That is what my Spirit of 76 does what ever player is up the other lights on the other players go out until that player is up again.
What is that pinball machine on the right ? That looks old
The chime sounded a lot better before you worked on them. They were very ding ding ding in the first four fifths of the video and at the end there very dull.
Why did that happen ?
There was no glass on it in the first half of the video, and in the first half of the video they were rattling off the metal brackets the chimes sit on, making more noise.
Sounds like a nasty arc going on when changing players
amazon Stain Glass Paint, Transparent Stain Glass, translucent Window Paint, Lacquer Based for Superior Stained Glass Art Paint with 9 Brushes
That would work great if all the paint was missing already

Happy 4th of July Lil Everette!
sorry, i shouldn't question the master.
IT'S BROKE.❤️
It sure is!
This channel is like going to college to get some knowledge. Ronnie is as fearless as Shango066 when it comes to mouse and rat excrement tainted devices. I would pass.
