Miss the San Jose and the Mtn View location. The price however I do not like but it normal for the area now. Please tell me you did not eat all three lunches... and the camera person and director ate some too. That was a $70 lunch!
Finally someone showing some love and appreciation for this great establishment. The food is a mixture of classic homestyle goodness. I'm not going to lie you almost brought a tear to my eye. Three thumbs up! Thanks Michael.
Been going to Harry's RWC in the 70s. Stopped going in the 90s-early 2000s. I started going back 15+ years ago. This place has been stuck in a time warp. NOTHING has changed which is a good thing. Food is still great!

I used to work at Sanwa Bank 20 years ago, that is was at the corner of where Harry’s Hofbrau is at. At lunch, I would always order a hand carved Turkey Sandwich for $6. It was THE BEST. Thx for making this video. With all the famous spots of San Leandro closing down like Prings, Bancheros and Pipers, I can’t believe that Hofbrau spot is still open. When I saw this video, I thought it was filmed 15 years ago …. 😅. Not realizing it’s still open today
The turkey dinner was always my go to at Harry’s In San Jose. The meat was moist and plentiful and you could request just dark meat, just white, or a combo. And you’re spot on about the mashed potatoes and gravy! The line could be intimidating but they went quickly. Never left there hungry! I miss that place.
Dude, I love Harry’s Hofbrau in the trick is you season your own food because there are a lot of elderly that come in. Enjoy meals there. So that’s the reason why the food is not season for dietary needs of others. There’s plenty of condiments for you to season your food on the table, salt, pepper, audit, flavored mustard, ketchup, etc. etc..

You could venture downtown to Original Joe’s or one of the casinos but the cost was more. The last time I went to the Redwood City location I was very disappointed in the prime rib , especially since I bragged about Harry’s restaurant to my guest’s I took there, it may have been because they were packed that rainy night about a year ago. That’s good food at Harry’s Hofbrau. I would have got some pickles to chop up in my macaroni salad. You said it true, you add the au jus, the gravy, makes it all taste better.
