Hey Judy! Yes I love seeing what others eat in different parts of the world too... I have to remember what's normal to me is not always the case to someone else! Have a nice evening there😊
Hi there and welcome Lilly! Yes it's always interesting to see how things work and the types of foods available in other parts of the world. So appreciate you subbing and watching, thanks so much😊
Great video and haul, as always! Usually I watch from my apt on the Upper West Siide of Manhattan, NYC, but this week I'm visiting my awesome Mom so I'm watching from my teenage bedroom in a tiny NYC suburban suburb! It's basically a perfectly preserved homage/time capsule of a 26 year old girl's 1995 bedroom! I encourage Mom redecorate, turn it into an elegant, welcoming guest room or a stidy/den for herself but she says she loves itt how itbis and the memories it brings bsck! As long as she's happy! We're cooking lots old, family fave recipes so I'm loving it! I hope you and your family had a great week and have an even better weekend!
G'day there! That made me laugh! How sweet your Mom loves your bedroom the way it was and still is... there's something so nostalgic about returning and staying in your childhood bedroom (and the 1990s was awesome)! Enjoy your time with your Mom and cooking. Have a great weekend too my friend😊
Lol! Well, I'm sure Mom wished my room looked like this when I was in high school! I should admit, I was a slob back then! The floor was covered eith a knee high pile of crap, clothes, books, magazines, just stuff! I'd make paths to my bed, dresser, closet and door tho@ so, the furniture, bedding, curtains and decor are all original, but now it is pristine clean and a bit OCD organized now! I went from one e treme to the other! I'm a bit of a pack rat! It's so much harder fun now to open a drawer and find boxes of old pics, cards, letters year books. I wish I'd kept it this neat and organized* back Dr hen!
Watching from Ohio in the US. I love seeing the items that are so different from what we get here. The "Chicken Tonight " sauce is no longer available here but we used to love it.
Hi there Tammy! Yes it's always interesting to see what others have available to them and eat in different parts of the world! The "Chicken Tonight" sauces seem to be a pretty regular item that our food bank includes in the box of groceries currently. Thanks so much for watching😊
Yes this muffin mix with the Belgian chocolate pieces is really nice. We've made them now a couple of times and they always turn out good, great for a sweet treat. Agreed on the Butterscotch😄I wish everyone would eat the lollies, not just me... I've got enough to last all year now!!
When I was growing up in Australia, we would split a Weetbix and put some butter and Vegemite inside. Would possibly work on weeks when you are running shy of milk😊
Hi Claire, Hope you're going good over there😊 I've never thought to do that before with Weetbix, that could work! Yes some weeks having enough milk is definitely an issue!
@Making Ends Meet yes, thanks. I'm hoping to be back in Australia later in the year. I plan to be stocking up on Vegemite. The good news is that's it's all mine. No- one will fight me for it here hehe
I use tomato sauce or spaghetti sauce as base for minestrone soup or pizza. We love fresh veggie on our Italian pizza dough. We love to smash fresh bananas on toasted bread. We like fresh apple sliced horizontally then dusted with cinnamon and sugar. I sometime mix meat even ground beef into baked beans. One solution is to give permission to your family to find your favorite food on Friday night. That way little bit and bobs of leftovers can be eaten and not wasted. Turns making a meal into an adventure. Mom organizes find your own choice cereal, one has crackers and cheese, one has leftover pasta one has egg on toast or toast and fruit.❤❤❤ Family is happy because it is fun alternative. As everyone is eating what they like. Mom is happy when kids are happy with all the choice. This way we present lack as plenty and a challenge not to waste anything and it saves time in the kitchen. Works great on movie night or when watching your favorite sport team on tv. Packaged snack for dessert. Saves clean up in kitchen use paper or cloth napkin to serve.
Hi Carlotta, That's a top suggestion for Friday nights and how to use up leftovers! I love banana sandwiches or bananas on toast too (bananas with peanut /almond butter on toast is delicious)! And I'm a big fan of lots of fresh veggies on pizza as well - yum! Thanks so much for sharing your great tips and watching😊
Hi there Vicki! Yes the food banks I go to are all church run and are open to anyone in need. I'm so grateful they exist, they provide such a valuable service to the local community. Thanks so much for watching😊
Hello from St. Cloud, Minnesota in the USA. My daughter loves sweet potato fries or wedges. You would be surprised how much 1 potato yields (make the same way as regular potato fries baked on a cookie sheet in the oven at 425 degrees fahrenheit). You could season them with curry powder, garlic powder, or whatever you like.
Hi there Paula! Yes I'm a big fan of sweet potato fries too, they're delicious when roasted aren't they?! I make them quite often too, though I haven't tried them with curry powder before, that sounds good. Thanks for the suggestion and for watching😊
Hi again from the Sunshine Coast. Qld. I spent a lovely girl's day out today (Saturday) op shopping in the Noosa area, which is the top end of the sunny coast. Plenty of bargains 😃 .. a great haul you got for your family, as always. Cheers Kelcy

Hi there and welcome Beth! Thanks so much, glad you enjoy the videos, thanks very much for watching😊 Yes I'm so grateful we have these resources in our local area too, it's a big help that's for sure.
Yes it seems to be mostly just a standard amount given to everyone with this food pantry I go to on Fridays... however sometimes as they hand out the cold items and fruit and veg they will ask, ''How many is in your family?'' and give more. Thanks for watching Marika😊
It’s now 6pm in the UK. Dark and cold outside, tonight it’s the brits music awards. I don’t know if harry styles is going to win but going to watch causalty on bbc1 - double episode. Spelling is not the best tonight.
This food pantry is open only on a Friday. I go once each week and pay $10. The food bank have the non-perishable groceries packed in boxes (usually one large carton box or a couple of bags if they've run out of boxes)... I usually transfer these items into my own bags and give them back the box... then they give you extra cold goods, fruit & veg, eggs, bread etc which works out to be another couple bags of food. So I end up coming away with several large bags of food every time I go. It works out to be great value for the money I pay!

How many boxes of food can you pick up on your food bank run? I'm asking for what you bought that's alot of food for the money
