How dare you coach having your own opinion on gloves you bought ! Always enjoy your reviews keep them coming
@@grantdavenport7904 I know shocking 😂
Thankyou I appreciate the support 🙌🏼🙏🏼
I'm a massive fan of both; I own a pair of each, got myself blue lighting ones, and love them, but I prefer winning myself. Overall at least for my hands they feel better
As always, I love your vid’s Coach Simon, but the one big turn off, for me, about those Fly gloves is the stitches on the “punch surface” side of the thumb. Yeah, I understand that the thumb isn’t a target area and a fighter isn’t going to use the thumb as such anyway, but I’ve always viewed those seams as a point of failure or a venue that could cause a cut in a straying punch. Sure, it’s not likely, but just my opinion!!! Anywho, Cheers and have a blessed day!!!
I have both gloves and have done for years..... its close and has always been close. It's near enough impossible to separate the two. Reason I actually bought winning is because I always heard it had great protection when training and I had cracked my knuckle previously with ringside gloves. Then just as Fly hit the scene I decided to give them ago and they're just as good. I couldn't score them different other than to say you'd have to go based on style and how they feel really and truly. Brilliant review and spot on from a user of both 👍
They are both great gloves and have very a different feel. The areas I have winning, winning lol are leather durability, thumb design, knuckle protection and liner. While I love the feel of the fly liner, it feels hot and stays wet after a good workout longer than my winnings. Ergonomically I actually prefer the flys.
For me - not in the UK I end up paying comparable prices for winning and fly. The style, I don’t care enough so for me
STYLE 10-10
COMFORT 10-10
DURABILITY 10-8 Winning
SPARRING 10-9 Winning
BAG 10-9 Winning
V4M 10-9 Winning
So my scorecard ends up 60-55 in favour of winning.
I had Fly Premium gloves in their oxblood colour which IMO is the nicest colour glove in boxing, bar none BUT the thumb would stub a lot and cause me a lot of problems that I had no issue with other gloves. Durability, I would be generous to say I got 6 months out of my Fly’s. I’ve had significantly better durability with Bayoneta, which is a boutique brand compared to Fly, Fly should NOT be losing H2H in any department from a boutique specialty brand, they should be way more consistent at the scale they run.
I think the reason you might get a lot of detractors when it comes to Fly gloves is because of that inconsistency. Your set might better than winnings, but mine really weren’t. With Winning I have a lot more confidence that I will get gloves that have no defects or issues in the medium term. That to me is why I like winning. I really did try to love Fly, but was really let down and I paid all the extra in customs and importing to here (Korea) because the brand supports a lot of fighters I admire.
I will say, before the issues they did feel and smell great lol. They are definitely a premium product and I hope the new superlace 2 addresses some issues.
Why do you even bother giving them the time of day to explain yourself? So far, you’ve been spot on. Take the hitnmove headgear, for instance. You praised it, and then Mike Tyson was seen wearing it-even though some have accused you of being paid for your endorsement.
There are people who flock to a certain forum, You could easily be a popular reviewer if you just echoed the opinions of that circle and spoke positively about what’s trendy there- Winning. But you choose to say what you believe.
@@christophercarter6151 💯 🙏🏼🙌🏼 you nailed that 🥊
😂 You're right about the Reddit sub! Honestly, there are so many clueless people. It's funny how the winning traders are the ones constantly posting “is this legit”. same users comment on everything like they’re monitoring the sub like a stock exchange! No serious boxer is on that subreddit
Great video mate, thankyou! I've reached that important time where I'm due for a new glove. I'm sick of paying $500 (AUS) for gloves as I've done in the past. I'll be giving fly a go as they're about $400 down here. This means I can buy some fancy boots as well haha. Thanks mate
I have 5 pairs of Winnings and have been using them for many years. I also have 2 pairs of the premium leather Flys, including the lightning in the red colour, which I purchased more recently. I agree with your overall assessment. Both manufacturers are brilliant. The Flys edge it for me because they are a bit softer and more malleable in the hand. I do wonder whether the leather is slightly better quality. The contest is, however, a very close one, as you rightly say.
@@christophereverest4547 i appreciate that comment your experience reflects mine
Love them both
Great to have so many amazing gloves 🙏🏼🙌🏼
I don't have any Fly gloves yet but i do have a pair of 12oz winnings. I wish winnings had a flat punching surface like Mexican made gloves.
I was a big fan of your channel until seeing this, learning that you have your own opinion that differs from others was incredibly shocking. I feel betrayed, cheated and tricked. Do better Simon.
Get a life?😅

If you have ACTUALLY tryed BOTH winning and FLY SUPERLACE LEATHER
How did you score them ?
I have the Superlace and a pair of Winnings. I think the lining is more comfortable on the Superlace but the wrist support and thumb is better on my Winning gloves.
@krowvakabon how do the knuckle areas compare? Which one is better for sparring, mitts etc?
@@2linefitness450 I use my Winning gloves mostly for sparring; not a fan of them on the bag. The knuckle compartment is a little snug, which is fine because I have very dainty hands. I feel like the Fly gloves mold to your hands more and the knuckle area is a little more spacious. I feel like they're better on bag.
I would go with Winning for sparring simply because I've injured my thumb more using the Fly gloves
😂 exactly perfectly spoken mate. It can be followers with winning refute everything and demand winning is the best...just go in one direction and completely not willing to accept or even look at anything else. At the end of the day someone likes winning, someone likes fly, rival whatever. We all have preferences of what we want, look for and need in a glove or gloves and that doesnt mean winning is the best for everyone and every situation thats just not true. My bag glove choices are totally different to my sparring glove choices and winning is not my sparring No.1, No.2 or No.3 not my bag no.1, No.2 or No.3 🤷 thats just me & personal choice. Most people like one all rounder and thats great for them but doesnt mean its great for others. Its just life 🤷
Simon, I need advice:
Which glove is roomier in the knuckle area-Cleto Reyes or Winning?
I really want a pair of both 😅
Have you had chance to test the Fly Superloop 2, Coach Simon?

I'm planning to get my first sparring gloves my budget is around ~200euros and im looking at Fly X. I'd love to hear your opinion on this! Do you think there are better options in this budget?
@@JohnFuryATH lace or Velcro
@@Fit2Box im not sure yet to be honest. I got a lace2loop convertor because i dig lace gloves, but im getting mixed messages about the wrist protection on Fly gloves. What do you recommend?
@@JohnFuryATH mixed messages from who ?
If you tie the gloves correctly you can get an excellent wrist protection with Fly X

Both are really expensive that being said i want my mum to get me some fly gloves for christmas

You had Sabas Supersoft beating Winning in head to head so these new subscribers that say you’re only bias to Fly for some reason are trolls and probably curse at their mum.
@@matthewmayfield4543 yes the Velcro gloves that was a long time ago
Yes their value for money was incredible
I think my videos over many years show my BIAS is towards amazing boxing gear I literally don’t care which country they are from
Amazing is amazing
how dare you give your honest opinion and rate Fly higher. You might as well say you hate winnings.
