    I'm a second-year PhD student at Columbia, and I completely agree on each point.

    Columbia sounds even more demanding today than it was when I went there half a million years ago! It may be in New York City but I remember my experience and I had to study so much there was little time to benefit from NYC resources.

      Hi. Congrats . I'm happy to discuss with you. However, since this is a personal decision perhaps it's better to interact personally. your question goes to the very heart of things: what is this degree "worth"? Let me know how much they are asking you to pay, and whether you have other lower cost options. You can connect with me via my contact form: greatcollegeadvice.com/contact/ . Depending on your situation, it may be worth buying an hour of my time to have a conversation on Skype or Zoom. Let me hear from you!

    SAT vs. ACT as viewed by Ivy League colleges anyone?

    • @Mikyle
      @Mikyle 7 років тому

      From my experience, there wasn't a particular preference. I took the ACT.

    Do it Obama's way:Have the Deep State plant records in Columbia's files.

      Did the "Deep State" also coordinate his matriculation into Harvard Law, being selected as the first black president of Harvard Law Review (a fiercely contested position which is earned through merit, as well as peer-driven elections), and his other post-academic achievements?
      The Deep State is even more powerful than I thought.
