Ok, I can forgive the prayer wheel slander in act 1 when you're in a rough spot and you need a power boost to get you to the boss. But calling it "eh" again on the second run was painful to me. I love that relic, dearly. It is the unsung hero of so many runs. It deserves so much gratitude, but it just get's ignored while doubling your combat rewards. I think we all need to appreciate the prayer wheels in our lives.
Such a fun thing about a game like Slay the Spire is that people can feel strongly about so many strategies, and lots of different people can be right at the same time.
100% recommend a mantra + retain build, *especially* if you can get something like Battle Hymn. Just play defensive until you get 10 mantra, go into divinity, and drop a nuke on whateevr you're fighting
I'm loving the Slay the Spire content and I know you don't want card tier lists and things like that, but the best advice I ever got on this game is none of those things. It's simply to stop looking at a card for how good it is on its own and start evaluating them on how they fit within the deck you're building. STS is made so well in the way that every card can and has been used to beat A20 Heart. Some obviously are way more generally useful, but context is King in this game
Him not playing Alpha at like 29:00 against the boss confused me so much. He had like 6 cards in his draw, which means he'd absolutely hit the chain, and that's just free damage every turn.
i have over 600 hours in this game and all ascension levels unlocked on the first 3. still haven’t messed with watcher. i feel like i need to do long division when i try 😭

My first run and clear last night with Watcher used a light Mantra build. I unlocked more after the clear, but it was awesome during the run itself.

Mantra _obliterates_ if you can get it running early. Not great to pivot to late, but divinity is just so much damage.
At 1:00, Miracle + Eruption would have left you with enough energy to play the rest of your hand, so you take no damage and win the fight next turn.

People sleeping on Alpha/Beta/Omega builds. When done correctly the card wins games. You just need defense and let it be all your damage.

Meh, Seal the Rift is more entertaining and interesting than this old game
