I shot at that range last year. They had all of these wooden sidewalks and platforms, and at that time the targets were mostly set up at fairly long ranges, for compound shooters, I guess. But not hardly anyone was there, so I just shot from wherever I wanted to, and usually not from the wooden decks, usually. It's a great place to shoot at 3D targets, and not too hard to fine my arrows if I was to miss completely, which I did some. I was shooting a 45 lb Black Widow, and heavy 687 grain hunting arrows. I do shoot off of a shelf on all of my bows, as I want my arrow as close to my hand as possible if not actually on my hand.

I think an elevated rest would depend on your riser cut and you can adjust an elevated rest (the type that has adjustable threads). Since you are using what appears to be a stick-on rest then I think you riser is cut near on center. I second the Bear Weather Rest, I have been using one for many years.

No, the Bear weather rest is the bestest longest lasting rest. They are much better than those delicate things target archers use. The old ones that come on old bear-manufactured bows are fantastic!

Still better than I would've shot. Did the cars driving in the background bother you at all? I feel like that would hinder my concentration.

I didn’t notice it. When I’m shooting I’m pretty good at blocking things out.

Have you always used a rest? Seems like going from off the shelf to a rest would be like starting from scratch. I hope you found all of your arrows.

No, just witched over to it. Did use it for a short time in the 1980's though.

If you are going to shoot Barebow get a metal riser with plunger and flipper rest. Much easier to tune than wood bow with stick on rest.

Have one. Just want to see what can be done. Plenty of people don’t want it can’t afford one. But they can adapt different aspects of it.

Don’t beat yourself up. You’re shooting that crappy setup the best it can be shot. Look at some of your setups from a few years back. You were shooting good and relaxed.
