I will start out by saying I will put this on, lie down, relax, wiggle my toes, and play it perfectly in my mind first..THEN...give thanks for this talented musician from whom i may or may not be able to emulate in this life....somewhere down the road! Definetly dooable but harder if you go straight for this without tackling slme easier songs along the way! I think some lf the hardest bits for me right now would be just remembering the note timings and melodies ingeneral

Tip: if you can play it slow you can play it fast. Basically don't rush, Patience is key.
The last night of our cruise the crew put on a variety show however I didn't care to listen to their 92 decibel entertainment so I got up and left. Fortunately as I walked away I heard the unmistakable piano playing of Fabrizio Caligaris . The rest of my evening was spent listening to his fabulous music. Asked him to play "Don't Cry For Me Argentina" and it was beautiful. Even had a chance to chat with him during one of his breaks. He gave me one of his cards and now I listen to him on UA-cam Love his piano playing.

The solo part (after causa de amor) is of your composition and I think it adds quite a bit of flavour. Especially the staccato chords in the bossa nova rhythm right before the solo section

I know you could do it and it's such a classic.
Bud Powell is another who played it before Evans. So there is all kinds of potential influence.

right hand looking good for me, but can’t get that ridiculous arpeggio that leads into lyrics ‘how i watch her so sadly’. any advice?
Hello Ashley, arpeggios are just flourish musical embellishments. You can avoid those, or play chords instead arpeggios, using the same notes, or make it simple, slower, half time, with less notes, just 2 octaves instead 4, like I do a couple of bars after that one.

Practice more arpeggios, or just skip those embellishments, .. are not mandatory :)
Fabrizio Caligaris yeah it’s kinda funny because pianists like phineas Newborn jr, Art Tatum, and Oscar Peterson were known for their incredibly fast and precise riffs that flowed with the melody perfectly, but it’s really not that necessary.
I prefer musicality and telling a story over playing a lot of notes (even if Oscar is my favorite haha)
Do you ever play classical pieces such as by Debussy? Do people like them as much as jazz?
