From KOF 94 to 03, there is no damage scaling, XI has a HUGE fucking damage scalling when switching characters, XII is.... _no,_ XIII damage scalling in comparison to any other fighting game that has it... is very low, infact, drive can probably halve your health to either 400 or 300 while normal combo is 700, maybe even 600, and with bars... since super has a fixed damage, scaled way less, 1 bars is enough to halve your health, combine with quick meter build, that’s how you get an offensive focus fighting game, so basically, what I’m saying is: KOF XIV damage scalling was a mistake

I watched this twice. I don't care if many of these combos are impossible in a real combat. Truly impressive. Someone here said they need a lot of set-up but even that requires superior mastery. You really need to know what you're doing. I was also pleasantly surprised by the death combos of some all-time underrated KOF characters such as Shizuru and Billy.
Learn your game people...from what i see, this is all legal. First of all, it uses screen lock, which it is an in game exploit that allows some pretty sick stuff by not allowing the opponent to go away due to hits like it would normally do. Second...whenever you are charged in Advance mode, you recieve a damage bonus, and your supers do much more damage. Last but not least and this is very important, if you pay attention, a lot of this combos have, either the opponent hitting the character or launching an apparently meaningless attack, however this is done to recieve a "reversal" or "counter" and since KOF 96 if i'm not mistaken, a counter gives you a bonus damage (not sure about the reversal), so a counter plus a fully charged character plus super desesperation move plus some pretty clever ideas...and the result is this video.
Screen lock you only can do this in kof,by edditing the rom where you use,this process is called hex editing,its not a legal process,its a hack mod to editing the details of the game(you can programme automatic combos with this) in mary combo,he do it 6 hits with a low punch,in the original version of the kof not edited,this is not possible,you can do it on max 3 hits because in the third hit,have a distance for you and enemy,this guy make this combos not legal,a experient player in kof can see this :P

I tried some combos with my friend and found sometimes the damage varied (not to death but with a little HP). I've been playing KOF from the year of 1997, in these 17 years I didn't even know there is damage variation range (for the same character)...
+习特勒 Because arcade KOF98 has a setting that were never used in later KOFs, which is as follows: If one move has more than one hit and first hit does, lets say, 16 damage, then the 2nd hit does 8 damage, 3rd hit 4 damage, etc. always half damage of previous hit. When starting with a counter, the first hit will do an extra amount of damage, but the 2nd hit doesnt do the half damage of 1st hit, but the whole damage of 16, and then 3rd does half damage of 2nd hit, which is 8, and etc. This setting makes counter hits stronger than ever and is almost the reason why this whole movie exists

As of now, Japanese players basically conclude that KOF98UMFE is worse than KOF98UM which is worse than KOF98. So Japanese players never play KOF98UM/FE any more. Chinese still have Tencent holding UMFE tournaments, so they're still playing.
Because the balance isn't any better than KOF98. KOF98UM/FE make EX mode too good, AB in this mode (I'll call it EX AB later) has no vulnerable frames or position change and can only be punished by grabs, so it's automatically the greatest counter to fireball characters. Since you now can tech normal grabs in EX mode, you can spam EX AB as much as you want if opponent character has no command grab, and spamming EX AB is a great bait to trick opponent to come close and throw. On the other hand, EX meter is too short, takes little time to charge, backward jump right after round starts and charge it to full becomes the best option for EX mode players, so they'll have a fireball super at hand as a deterrence and red life fireball super spamming is a popular method of consuming opponent's patience. Even if you don't have fireball super, you still have a full meter at hand, capable of quick recovery and guard cancel. So system-wise, KOF98UM/FE is a defense-encourage game. Character-wise, some characters have less recovery/active frames for their moves, so spamming some moves isn't as risky as before. And you have omnipotent Krauser in 98UM and overpowered Eiji in UMFE. High skill players can play very offensively, but general players will go defensive because that's the easiest way to win, which makes playing matches very boring to both players and audience.

Ya el kof solo te sube el daño al entrar en modo max (tanto en advanced como extra) y los ataques aturden un poco mas, eso sumado a que siempre que comienza con un counter si llegan los combos

That's a technique appeared in several KOF games, input LP>SP/LK>SK will result in a double LP/LK. Mary's St LP in KOF97/98, Krizalid's Cr LP/LK in KOF02UM, Orochi Iori's Cr LK in SVC and more can use this techique. Robert's Cr LK in KOF96 may also use but I'm not so sure. Heavy D!'s Cr LK is just that quick, similar to Terry's St LP, you don't have problems with the latter it appears. You're saying combos in this video being hacks makes me feel you're living in a cave for decades. If you don't know something, ask and learn.

Yes, they're tool-assisted indeed. Although most of these can be be done manually after some insane practice, which won't be worth doing, the movie is tool-assisted in order to achieve optimal screen soft lock and manipulate random damage.
If you can't recall it, find a command list and read through carefully. There is no other version or mode of it, it's just Brian, you haven't fully known this character yet.

Why can these hits do so much harm? Some just with three or four hits and take away all the blood. Are they all Counter Hits ?
