Kids Try Food From Fairy Tales | Epicurious
Little blonde girl breaks off Gingerbread Man's legs.
"Now you can't get away".
Ruthless.
Ikr! She killed him
Torture it is...
What’s
It's feels like that one scene from shrek
The witch: did you eat my house?
Kids: Nooooo.
The Witch: Where will I sleep?
Kid: In the forest?
😂😂😂
"do you feel feel guilty about eating a man?"
Boy on the left. *eats his head*
We served you expired food.
This is “Kids Try Expired Food”
Just great
The Helix
I've told kids this, and other nasty things about the food I've made for them, like including chopped worms in lasagna.
🐛😂 I really didn't. And they didn't believe me once I started eating it. 😂
Grayson is so adorable. Love the way he immediately feels stronger. Bless his heart
when i was a kid i dreamed about turkish delight from The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe. finally had it (a very, very bad version) and realized Edmund sucked even worse than I thought.
Moxie Beast ASMR
Real Turkish Delights are legit the best candy ever. The powdered sugar covered lemon and rose flavored cubes they're soooooo good 🤤
An important thing to remember is this is during the world war and sugar was rationed.
@@BothHands1 To be completely honest I tried some decently high quality ones and they're… not great. To each their own though, I'm just not big on the whole rose flavor.
They’re super good when they’re chocolate coated. I’m not too big a fan of them with just the powdered sugar
I try some before...don't know if it's a good quality or not, because that was the only time I ever eat a Turkish delight. I don't like it because it was really sweet it almost makes me vomit.
I like how they got more adventurous w/ their eating as they kept being inundated w/ more and more food lol.
The "It tastes like radish.... Obviously" kid is my favorite lolol he's got such a good sense of humor for a kid his age, and really just seems to have a good head on his shoulders. Awesome kid :)
"What food would you trade family members for?"
"Pizza"...
i was like falling from my bed lol
I snorted when he said this and scared my massive sleeping ridge back puppy enough for her to bark at me.
Im geting pizza or kfc for dinner
kitty love idc
Ay Jay good choice
4:08 Grayson is *THE BEST* kid in here b/c he doesn't care about other's close-minded opinions and will try any new food! On top of that, he's not staring at his neighbour's reaction; instead, he's actually relying on his own opinion to say whether he enjoys it or not. You only meet a couple kids in this world like him. *Props* to his mum and dad.
are you sure you're not one of his parents????
I DID notice that a few of the kids kinda feel embarrassed when they LIKE something their neighbour says is gross.
"It wasn't that funny."
other girl is shocked but starts stifling a laugh
What foods would you trade family members for?
Girl: Nothing
Boy: Pizza
My soulmate. :-D
more like:
sister: nothing.
brother: pizza!
sister: wait a minute...
3:58 "my disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined"
Shofa Pranata
Omg lol he's just soo cute lol
He legit wants to get stronger so he tears those dumplings up ahhhh tooo cutel lol
Disappointment*
Shofa Pranata *disappointment
IKR that makes me soo uncomfortable
1:13 when the producer finally gets fed up with the kids
The look of betrayal when they bite into the millet dumpling
Maybe they can feed it to a stray dog, pheasant and some monkey that broke out of the zoo. And defeat the army of ogres on the island off yonder
The dried persimmon is different in Asia. Rather than a dehydrated slice, it's a whole fruit pressed flat
“Omg this is really moldy” she eats it anyway
Awwww doesn't grayson adorable when he said he feel stronger once eating the dumpling.
The dried persimmon in Korean is 곶감 and it’s never made sliced up
I’m Korean and I have never seen 곶감 served like that...
They’re dried whole and it’s kinda squishy
Jeana Yeo I’ve never had dried one, just a regular one, and it’s great, but thanks for saying
i know :((( as soon as i heard what fairy tale its supposed to be from, it was sooo painful to watch. 내가 아는 쫀득쫀득 말랑 말랑 곶감은 저게 아닌데ㅠㅠㅠ 진짜 욕나올뻔..
I know! It is more like raisins made out of persimmons, so it's supposed to be chewy. Also, where is the gingerbread house...
Yeah I was just thinking that when I saw what they used
09:27 "What food would you trade family members for?"
Girl : Nothing!
Boy : Pizza...
Girl : _Makes a mental note not to trust him ever_
The witch house should be made of gingerbread!
I second that
Now that's a witch house: ua-cam.com/video/53DZlPQr0g0/v-deo.html
Though I know it with some decorations and not out of bricks, but I guess for a house that size, it had to be made out of gingerbread-bricks.
That was my first thought.
ummm...
I think in the old version, the house is actually made of bread with cake for a roof and sugar-glass windows.
Wikipedia: Valerianella locusta is a small annual plant that is eaten as a leaf vegetable. It has a characteristic nutty flavour, dark green colour, and soft texture, and is popularly served as salad greens.[2] Common names include corn salad,[3] common cornsalad,[4] lamb's lettuce,[3] mâche[3] (/mɑːʃ/), fetticus,[3] feldsalat,[3] nut lettuce,[3] field salad, and rapunzel.
Sorry wrong vegetable in the video.
Thank you.
Yep! We were questioning that elsewhere. I believe the video was trying to match rampion - Campanula rapunculus - with its parsnip similar root.
@@deaconsmom2000 I didn't know that one, sounds very plausible too. Thanks.
"What foods would you trade family members for?"
girl: "Nothing"
boy: "Pizza"
girl looks at boy with a betrayed expression
But it was a gingerbread house... Not just random candy :D
Also, Rapunzel is a Type of Salad...
Yeah, I was always under the impression that Rapunzel was a kind of leafy vegetable.
I feel that a channel called "Epicurious" could've done a better candy house ;)
It looks like a piñata.
I could have done a better one :/ and I've never made one.
The witch made up for it though ;p
if i recall, both the root and leaves of rampion were eaten in the beginning of rapunzel, since they make a great salad served together
it's also the first known account of pregnancy cravings ruining lives
Sister: NOTHING
Brother: Pizza
Sister: =T
Eric Andal XDDDDDDD
“Is this Peter rabbit or the odd couple
I would PAY to eat these foods
The little red headed girl and the little boy are so freaking cute!😭
5:06--I can't be the only one who felt bad when the melon said, "Ouch!", right?
"Aww, stop it! You're hurting the melon!"
Yes, but the mother made a salad from the leaves of the rampion, she didn't eat the root vegetable.
Juliet Rosner exactly my thought - had this picture book where she’s clearly eating greens
she eats lamb's lettuce
that's what I thought too, it's lettuce not root vegetables
"so what foods WOULD you trade a family member for?" Girl "Nothi..." Boy cutting her off..."pizza" I got a HUGE laugh from that! I love these kids!
Grayson is so cute he reminds me of Bastian from The Neverending Story lol
The first kid's face is like "do I look like I'm 3 years old? But I'm too nice so I'll try to be nice"
What foods would you trade family members for?
Girl: nothing
Brother: family
Girl: stares in disbelief
4:28 I learned about Anansi in my Social Studies class
1:35 WHO TOUCHA MY SPAGHET???
Are you sure about this roots? It says in the fairy tale, that the Rapunzeln, that Rapunzel's mother ate, were green and she made a salad with it. In Germany we call corn salad "Rapunzel" and that is, so we tell our children, what Rapunzel's mother was craving for.
Yeah, I don't know why they didn't just give them ramps, which are fairly easy to find in my small American city. Maybe they were out of season.
They're going with the version where Rapunzel's mother wanted rampion, Campanula rapunculus, not the salad many of us were expecting.
9:36 I LAUGHED SO LOUD 🤣🤣🤣
excuse me!? the house in hänsel and gretel is out of gingerbread and not regular candy and stuff
Actually, it was made out of regular bread and sugar, but it has been mistranslated into English.
In Germany, we make „knusperhäuschen“ every time around christmas season, and at least in my area, the knusperhäuschen is linked to hänsel and gretel (i still have that one sentence in my head „knusper, knusper, knäuschen, wer knuspert an meinem häuschen“ which means „crunch, crunch, crunch, who‘s crunching on my house“) and we normally do knusperhäuschen or lebkuchenhäuschen out of gingerbread and apply some sweets like chocolate or haribo gummy bears to it.☺️
Grayson is so cute!
3:16 I thought he said kpop and then I was like oh cake pop 🥴
i thought that also same 😝😝😝
2:26: I just wanna punch it(breaks it down)
Chef: all my work ruined
0:26 aww the kids trying to get the gingerbread man
*do you feel guilty eating it?*
Kid *uh..I mean.. atleast it's not cannibalism*
Lol I love that 🤣
Eating a gingerbread man isn’t canniblism
It’s candylism
Cannibalism* and the person who does it is a cannibal
Herta Schneider really are kidding me right now
@@Cassxowary r/woooosh
“Where am I going to sleep?”
“In the forest?”
Rapunzeln is one of the thousend names of Feldsalat in Germany and that means lamb's lettuce!
I'd like to try the blue corn cake. Very interesting. Kudos to the kids for trying these foods.
6:40 When going homeward from GA, my cousin (currently living in OH?) gave us a box filled with books. One of them was A TALE OF PETER RABBIT. I tried to conceal the book. Right before leaving Branson, MO, my brother searched everywhere in the cottage. In the midst of it, he found the book.
Candy house: *exists*
Girl: I’m not gonna share, it’s to good to share.
Her pancreas: *GUESS I’LL DIE*
When fairy tales get so woke you don't know 9/10 of them
😍😍😭I have hated kids my first 17 years on this planet, but the past year I really wanna have one for some reason😭 like wtf? I literally have dreams of having kids, playing with them, cuddling them❤️❤️ videos like these are my favorite honestly! Sorry for sounding cheesy!
Grayson is so adorable omg
I must admit that witch startled me. She popped in out of nowhere. 😂
The way they just stare at the food is hilarious! 😂
"we served you expired food this is kids try expired food"
Me: now I know why they been gone
Grayson is the cutest. No contest.
ughhh I know
8:04 he was adorable in the early vids.
The 100 years of brown bag lunches is the best.
These kids outsmart kid me at every turn. Vicarious pride :)
I wonder if "red corn cake" boy's parents know he's colorblind.
We need more of this "hiho" "cut" contents on UA-cam, but in a different style plz
It’s so cool to see some of them growing up.
Who else grew up with a book about Momotaro? ❤️ #nostalgia
"This is really moldy."
proceeds to put it in her mouth
00:43
Um..
That is not a favorite food for tigers...
I think you bought the wrong food..
You were deceived by the shopkeeper lol
korean original dried persimmon does not supposed to look like that. it's not sliced and dried, the full fruit goes through specific process and it is soft, lil bit chewy and moistfully softly dried just so right. it is actually very sweet and too good. u can't stop eating them coz its too irresistable thats why the baby stopped crying when he heard the name of it!
I love these segments. That one girl could really get carried away with her story.
lol @ the producer playing along and saying they were serving expired food
And at the costumed witch.
Wait a minute...doesn't Alice eat a cake/ drink from a bottle to get smaller/ bigger ?
That's the movie version. The original Lewis Carol book has her eating a mushroom and drinking a potion.
@@O2life ah thanks ! :)
Oh my god, I *love* the story of Momotaro!
I love Anansi and the talking melon! I used to read it a lot back in elementary school. also, Anansi was not trickster spider. He created a hole in a melon and ate his way inside it and ate till he got full and was too big to get out of the hole, so he was stuck, an elephant picked up the watermelon and Anansi decided to play a trick on everyone
Sees Momotoro*
GASP. PEACH BOI. MY ABSOLUTE LAD. Eagle, dog, and monkey too. OverlySarcasticProductions made a good video about that one.
I don't know who the parents of the kid in the red tee and a blue shirt are, but I wanna meet them - they must be real cool. That kid and his older sister are usually the most fun of the bunch.
“I just wanna punch it and it will fall”
Honestly me 😂
3:10 birds: excited chirping
0:25 when gingerbread men leg broke I would be the kind of kid who would cry 😭 because of that
Just say to the witch “You can’t eat me, otherwise you’ll become diabetic; because us kids are always loaded with sugar!” ... now THERE’S food for thought! LOL. 😂
TBH, I'd probably have the same facial expressions and poke at these foods in the same way.
I love these kids reactions they r 😂
Radishes are plenty of tasty -- but if you eat too many at once, you get the burps. I also like parsnips, and mushrooms are one of the most delectable foods nature has to offer
"Oh my god this is really moldy." *eats it*
I thought to myself why all these kids act so braty? but then i remember their grown up also act like this too... so yeah, no wonder...
0:32 Me when I plunge a lobster into boiling water
1:46 the face she made while the one on the right was just talking
Omg the witch scared me lol so cute
My favourite fairy tail was Mary had a little lamb and I’ve ate lamb before does that count? Or is that a nursery rhyme? 🧐
Nursery rhyme not fairy tale and I hope you know now not to eat fluffy babies who have families, friends, feelings, thoughts, opinions, etc and want to live safe too
I'm sorry... I'm so sorry. But Mr. McGregor had a garden. It was never established as a farm. That is all.
Persimmons -- dried or fresh -- are divine
I liked this can you do a full Hansel and Gretel story video?
1:45 MADE MY HEART MELT.....
I wish I could eat one of those 😅
Rainbow Cake Plays - Minecraft
Yeah, i wanna try that corn cake lol
3:12
Future Gordon Ramsay
I've read most of these stories including Momotaro
I have had dried persimmon before and the first time eating it is kinda weird but from the second time onwards it's amazing
Wow i've never heard of some of these.
"Its moldy", proceeds to eat it.
we want kids try expired food
"this is kids try expired food"
Please dedicate an entire channel to these kids. 32 videos is not enough :(
Grayson is the most adorable thing ever!
