  • A District-Wide Approach to Improving Outcomes for Students with Disabilities - Afternoon Session
Students with disabilities continue to be the lowest performing student group in the United States. And although Indiana continues to make strides educating students with disabilities in their Least Restrictive Environment (LRE), this progress has not resulted in improved outcomes. ESSA requires Indiana’s state accountability system to identify schools with one or more underperforming student group(s). For many districts, this highlights the lack of progress and growth for students with disabilities. In this session, the Indiana IEP Resource Center (IEPRC) will facilitate discussion among District Leadership Teams (DLTs) on current policies, programming and practices directly affecting students eligible to receive special education services. DLTs will have the opportunity to review and analyze district-level data and conduct a success gap analysis to make informed decisions and develop action plans targeted to improved outcomes for students with disabilities.
