  • Nothing can really prepare you for the first time you see Carnac, its an amazing place, with so many megaliths decorating the French countryside in an area of France famous for having one of the densest collections of megaliths in the world.
    At the end of 2016 we crossed the English Channel to film a structure that absolutely baffles researchers who can only guess at the reasons why over 3000 stones, weighing up to 67 tons were erected in lines stretching across a thin 4km long strip of Brittany. We visited all of the different sections, taking some amazing drone footage and the film also features some of the menhirs and dolmen/tumulus structures in close proximity to the alignments, including the le Grand Menhir Brise that would have stood over 20m tall and weighed 350 tons before it broke into 4 pieces.
    Our continuing aim is to show there was a global civilization before our current one and we believe the distribution of megaliths around the world strongly substantiates this theory. We believe this site is a very important piece of the puzzle if we are to understand what our ancestors were up to and adds to the evidence suggesting there was once a global civilization before the last ice-age that was both spiritually and technologically more advanced than the current one.

    Good footage, you missed a couple of dolmens in the area that are absultely worth visiting but less known. If your french is good, the locals will take you there, if not, they won´t. And btw, cut the "energy" bullshit.

    this film totally rocks!. It made me wonder why we ( in our case in the South of England- just across the Channel) had no knowledge of this incredible place. All school children should learn about these ancient civilisations and how their building and amazing engineering skills are replicated across the whole globe. AND WONDER HOW COULD THIS BE SO

    Survival was the first aim of 'megalithic'man. The first aim of any tribe would be to build communal housing ,storage for harvested foods and meats, and shelter for domestication of animals . Look at the layout of any modern housing estate ,and you can see the antecedents of it staring at you here, in the few surviving'bones'of its skeleton. Religious worship and building edifices to the 'gods' would have been the last thing on anyone with half a brains list . Archaeology needs to drop the religious mindset of its practitioners. It is corrupting history.

    Work on Saint-Michel at Carnac actually began circa 6000 BC. The Grand Menhir (which stood from 4700 BC to 4000 BC) was a moondial, the largest in a line of menhirs that are no longer in position. Fragments of one were used in the construction of two nearby tombs.

      Not at all. You are just ignorant. Science and history totally falsiefied and not taught in schools or Universities which only teach Rockefeller science. For me he claims nothing not already found by me. Carnac false name. Ker Ys and the disappearance thereof interesting. Islands above Scotland 70 meters difference in sealevel after a piece of Norway broke off. Asteroids hitting earth, causing several polar shifts. Do your homework. Doggerland also interesting. Never taught in my dutch school.

    According to archaeologists shouldn't these stones be under several feet of soil by now. I mean they always say they're digging down to this layer which is the time of whatever people lived and so on. I never believed that it somehow rains a foot of dirt every thousand years.

    Thank you once again Mick and Jason - A Grand Tour de France! I have been exploring megalithic sites world-wide since 1990 and yet it was only last November we finally got to Carnac. You are so right - nothing compares to these stone alignments and all the integral structures in the area. Carnac is reportedly a 'Moon site' and as authors of "There Is Something About The Moon..." (find our Group with same name on FB), John and I went to see Carnac, not realising that we would arrive on the night of the Super-Moon (14-11-16) and saw the huge full Moon rising over the Carnac Stones. We cannot understand why we saw only 4 other people there to watch this amazing event, yet our photos proved that we were accompanied by thousands of 'orbs'. Your video travelogue is very natural but excellently filmed and narrated and it was great to see the over-view from so many different angles (from a drone, I presume?) Howard Crowhurst is an incredible mine of information about this site, having lived nearby for many years, and his mathematical geomancy is mind-blowing. There is so much more to comprehend about the Megalithic Era... Well done! (Wendy Salter)

    A french astrophysician has find the signification of this site. Here the links: ua-cam.com/video/0vUEtdPim8o/v-deo.html ( for those who don't understand french here the animation of the theory: ua-cam.com/video/Pc7FgrQ7hTs/v-deo.html )
    So Carnac is the statement of the course of some stars (Venus, Jupiter, and others) for some days. The alignment is the result of their observation.

      The name Carnac is named after Karnak Egypt. Falsified history. I found Ker Ys. Am curious as to the original name of this site. the area is where my maternal ancestors came from Somewhere on the coast there are those huge stones. Those are the real Pillars of Herakles to guide ships to Atlantis. Fpund the info in ancient greek manuscript. So it was information that was commonly known at one time. Which lies opposite to the west. Plato. In Ireland they are removing them or constructing fake burial sites with them. The Tuatha or Tuatha De were that original people who travelled all over the earth. Apollo in his flyingmachine to Hyperborea. They arrived in Ireland in Spaceships. Danann again falsified history later added. They also instructed the locals in Egypt coming from elsewhere. Red haired white giants, very handsome/beautiful, blond or red hair, blue, grey or green eyes. Skeletons found worldwide. Smithsonian claimed a few years to have misplaced them and were unable to locate them???? Native Americans genocided them is in oral history. Red Haired giants in New Zealand narrated by white and black Maori tribes interesting. They are also mentioned in Khazarian history, called the red jews. In some russian historic vid one of them was drawn. Gobekli Tepi said to have a stargate to Mars.

    That "stone floor" is actually the natural bedrock. The soil is very thin there and the stones are (incredibly!) set into the bedrock

    Back in the late 1970's, I saw an American T.V. program, that was about artifacts from the late stone age, like Stonehenge and Carnac. I don't remember the name of it. It claimed that stone rings that are like Stonehenge, but are located near European seashores, were for determining latitudal and longitudal bearings of places, on the other side of the Atlantic ocean, that Stone Age Europeans were at that time traveling to. It also claimed that Carnac's rows of stones were a library, of these latitudal and longitudal bearings, before some of them were later hauled off for building projects. I have no idea if this is accurate or not, but the program did make these claims.

    Fairly obvious that they made strong fences with long lines of stones tapered in towards a common kill zone(look at the plan). The ends and gates would be open for a few days and once closed beaters would drive boar, deer etc that wandered in from the forests towards the killing pen at the end. Profitable business, hence the extent. The practice died with the forest cover that provided the fauna. You have to see it in the context of the landscape and wildlife of the time, not the farmland and towns of today.

    • @mcshair21
      @mcshair21 Рік тому

      Do you think that justifies moving such heavy stones?

    • @TheWonderfulStevieP
      @TheWonderfulStevieP Рік тому

      @@mcshair21Sure, the alignment stones aren't that big for the most part, boar are extremely strong and deer can leap anything less than 6ft. Don't forget this would have been big business at that time. edit: It's a large animal trap, which is prosaic but a better explanation of the size, effort, spacing and arrangement than wizardry and woo. Similarly there are ancient fish pool traps that fill with the tide, no one looks at those and thinks they're down to magic and ceremonies. Humans are practical and need food and raw materials.

    The Great Broken Menhir at Locmariaquer is amazing. Before it fell and broke into four pieces it stood 66 feet tall and weighed 350 tons. In prehistorical Europe it was the tallest structure . How did prehistoric people before the pyramids of Egypt move 350 tons and erect it?

      Witch an english word for Wise woman, man. A 20 year study. You refer to it as Magic, a total denigration. Wisdom of slaughtered Druids hidden? not written down or perhaps by some monk?. Many namechanges of goddesses in Ireland. Carnac also a namechange named after Karnak Egypt. Check out Ker Ys sunken city. Leylines and another system i forgot the name of is just common scientific knowledge. It is where all st Michael churches are built on ancient sacred places. Next time verify.

Namechanging also popular. This site not called Carnac. Nor Lemuria Lemuria. Carnac named after Karnak Egypt. Lemuria after Lemurs on Madagaskar, which were named by roman pirates, invaders, thought to be evil spirits, whilst locals called them Our ancestors. 8 monkeyspecies once. Built Adams Bridge.
