I think WhatsApp suck on this one because it doesn't have the option where you can retrieve deleted data like a deleted messages folder.

I had a OnePlus before and had everything backed up locally when i transitioned to my new poco X3 pro but due to some circumstances i did not have enough time to restore my previous backup and started WhatsApp without it. Now i know if I restore the previous backup i will lose the current messages. So i was wondering if there is a way to merge them both or restore old local backup without loosing current chats

I've tried your android to android methods, but when I hit the Restore button I get asked for my password... when I type it in the word verifying is shown for about 20 secs then the message 'Connection error please try again later' with an OK button... when I hit the OK button, it says 'Something went wrong please try again later' with an OK button again, when I hit the OK button I get taken back to the page where I'm asked to input my password again. What am I not doing correctly?

On android 13 when ai uninstall it seemed to wipe the backups from local storage, i.e the database folder has gone???

I have 2 backups for the same number on 2 different Google drive accounts
At the same day the newer one is smaller in size and WhatsApp keeps restoring it

I don't backup whatsapp to my drive.
Today when whatsapp has problem, I uninstalled it. Later when I clicked backup, it replaced my old backup in local storage, led to removal of my old chat history since my last drive backup.
Can you please help me to recover all my chat history?

what if mobile itself is changed and need to restore data (backup is not there on Drive)
It keeps saying account already exists and phone number exists.
So it's not letting me back it. I even created a new email and it's doing the same thing. I don't understand why it ask for email and phone # but says it already exists.

I have the same issue.I guess, you need to not check 'keep the data' after you clicked uninstall whatsapp. OR, you can go to your Whatsapp storage and click 'clean data' before you uninstall it. I haven't tried that yet though.

I installed WhatsApp but tried to backup(300mb)from previous chat but didn't succeed. I now went ahead and did a new backup(40Mb). I later on uninstalled WhatsApp and reinstalled. I started the process again and restore backup is 40Mb and not 309Mb. How can l get the 300Mb backup please? Any app or any idea please?

@@Todayhukamnama yass, we have to know exactly the directory location of the WhatsApp applications. In old version in WhatsApp folder directly but in newer version its in the android. Remember there are 2 layer folder Whatsapp in newer version. This is the issue
Firstly you have to copy/save/ss the folder directory to make sure the location of backup file

doesn't work on Android 11 on Samsung. There is no folder 'whatsapp' or suchlike
You have to look for it under a different folder in internal storage
