About this channel: Welcome to my channel. I'm Amber Smith. My husband Granger and I live on a little farm in central Texas with lots of animals and our beautiful, super funny kiddos. We have London, Lincoln, River (who is now with Jesus) and Maverick. This channel is a spin off of our family vlog The Smiths.
I started Arise, when we lost our son, to share my feelings of loss, grief, love, hope, parenting and my faith journey along the way. We comb through scripture, I share what the Lord puts on my heart, I answer questions and more. My hope through Arise is that something I say makes you want to seek Jesus. He changed my life and my heart when I was in my 30s and I've been sharing the good news ever since.

My daughter was diagnosed with PANDAS 2 years ago. She had the ocd, ticks and unfortunately rage. I'm so glad London shared her journey because it makes others feel not so alone. I hope you get better London. We are walking this walk with you ❤️

When our son was 10, he developed tics. The neurologist described it as a "hiccup" in the brain. Our son is 47, he still has it, but over many years he has learned a lot of coping skills. I hope that is encouraging. We love your family so much and excited about your new book, Amber. You have turned into a dear godly lady.

It is exciting for me to hear London’s point of view on life for an almost teen and her desire to show Christ’s love even when it is so difficult at times. What a blessing it is to have parents that monitor and are so involved in their children’s decisions. The Lord is faithful and is always available to hear our praise and prayer’s 💜
London is so wise beyond her years. I’m 32 and I couldn’t handle reading chapter 7 because my husband had been in that dark place before. I’m still triggered by the S-word a decade later. I can’t imagine knowing about it at her age and dealing with losing river and knowing she almost lost her dad after. She is incredibly brave. I want to be London when I grow up.

Great seeing London on here with you. I have a niece who went through the ticks like London has. She's 17 now, and those have primarily gone away. I hope that brings her some hope about the days ahead.
London, if I wanted a role model for my 7 year old daughter, you would be it! You are so sweet, beautiful, and have a heart of gold!

I put my daughter in private middle school after watching what my older 2 kids went thru. MS is brutal!

Loved watching London she is so sweet and mature. Awesome that she loves mission trips and spread the word.
I went through tremendous bullying from kindergarten til the end of high school but from grade 5 on was the worst. I agree with London people will bully you but turning the other cheek and treating to others how I'd want to be treated really made a huge difference in the long run. At the end of high school I had a few of the girls that had bullied me from grade 5 on who asked me why no matter what they did I never treated them badly or retaliated. It was an opportunity to share my faith with them and share the Gospel. I pray that not only it will make London stronger but that she will have an opportunity to use this to share the Gospel through all of this whether it's those same people or others who may be experiencing bullying themselves. I'll be praying even more specifically for these things for London🙏 Thanks for coming on London!
I enjoyed London being on your podcast. What a very special beautiful young lady she is. Middle school is very hard, I think the ones that are being mean to London are just jealous of her. I will be praying for her and to also stay as wonderful and full of God's grace as she is now.
The part that I felt for London was when they mentioned the ET interview that she was in the room for. Can’t imagine what it would be like to hear my dad talk about having the thoughts that Granger was dealing with after River passed. I love how sweet London is about everything. I finally got the book in the mail today from Amazon. I just barely started reading it. I can’t wait to really get into it. You guys are amazing. 🙏🏻

I have read Like a River and I have a granddaughter abt the same age as London who has had similar bullying experiences as London and it really upset her. More Moms need to talk to their daughters. We should know what our daughters are thinking and feeling. I wish my Mom talked to me.
If you talk to those mean girls in 10 or 15 years from now they will tell you they sensed the difference in you (God) and they wanted what you have. God bless you.
and many of them will be living miserable lives at that point😰

I read "Like A River" I bawled through most of it. It is an awesome book, touching, eye opening and such a wonderful witness!

you have an amazing family to hold close to your heart
My daughter is in High school and the girls and boys not as nice either. I told her when she started not to take heart to all their nonsense because it's a short 4 years and most likely will never see them again. She is going to be a junior and she is agreeing with me now. That's what I wish someone had told me too back when I was in High school. She is also rooted in Jesus.
And so many of those kids are coming from various places of pain. That's not an excuse for their actions, but remembering it does sometimes help us take what they're doing less personally, although it feels so very personal at the time.
I believe that God is in her and helping her through each and every day.
I cannot imagine how different my life might have been to have a mom like you Amber..it touches my heart deeply to see you with your daughter. London, I enjoy listening to you , keep shining for Jesus!!

Tourett is nothing to be ashamed of. My uncle...only 4 yrs older so more like a brother .....had full on Touretts. We never really thought anything of it.

London is absolutely precious. I have a 4 year old (almost 5) and we lost her little brother and even at her early age, she remembers and talks about him all the time. I look at London and I picture my daughter at her age and I just hope that she continues to grow in her faith like London has! 🩵 I am hopeful for a close relationship like yours and hers as my daughter gets to middle school age and beyond. Bless her sweet heart, I know it’s hard. I’ll be praying for her during this strange and difficult middle school season and for her to stay strong in her faith in this scary world as she gets older!

London, I love your heart! Do you know the quote ''Whatever doesnt kill you will make you stronger'''? I believe this is true for you. 67 Bug bites is so miserable, but I believe it made you stronger through that experience of being there. I knew you always had a heart for others and a servants heart. I dont know any other american child whos done what you have done to the extent you have done it and succeeded at it. When life gets tough for you, please remember that satan is a big fat liar. When it seems your parents are being extra tough, remember they love you dearly and only want whats best for you. Keep running to Jesus sweet girl.

Loved this episode. Love how open you were about having a form of Tourette’s, London. I also have it and for the longest time I was embarrassed about it but as I’ve seen people embracing it and other disorders more I’ve realized it’s okay to just be myself! I’m so proud of you for recognizing that at such a young age. Satan’s gonna try to lie to you about it saying “See? you’re not normal” or “Everyone is looking at you” but just throw it back in his face because Jesus fearfully and wonderfully made you exactly how you are! Again, I’m proud of you! 28 year old here and I wish I had the maturity and self confidence about it when I was ur age like you do. Praying that yours goes away soon though!!

You are all in my thoughts and prayers. Please let London know that I know what she is going through. My brother passed away when he was 8 years old and I was 9. I am 48 years old now I will be 49 in June. I still have a hard time especially when the it's my brother birthday and the Holidays.
