PLEASEEE react to "This is BTS: Crash Course to a World Sensation(2020)" ua-cam.com/video/M40jsKiIcm8/v-deo.html and "BTS From Nobodies to Legends": ua-cam.com/video/SrI4AvkABm4/v-deo.html to get more insight on BTS as a group
Both genders actually wear makeup in Korea, but those hip hop artists are talking about Hip-Hop standards. I mean I'm pretty sure Drake wears makeup so they were really dumbasses for saying that. But yeah makeup is common in Korea
Exactly. The artists mocking RM and Suga were saying that wearing the makeup the stylist chose for shows and photo shoots was being too girly because it was more the "pretty boy" look.
See...this is what kills me. Back in the 1980’s (I’m 52, but I’m still KILLING it. Sue me) they had what was/is called “Hair Bands”. A typical garage band with someone on drums, a guitarist, a keyboardist, and the front guy (it was always guys) who sang. They had long hair, teased to the max, and more makeup than Ru Paul. They were seen as the cool guys. The tough boys. Whatever. But never were they accused of being like “girls”. So yeah...that comment was shallow and thoughtless. That was someone being, in a word, a jackass. It’s people like him who I see go at BTS and ARMY that I LOVE to put in their place. I draw them in and rile them up with my comments until they get defensive and start attacking me personally to the point they say something I can report them for. Mainly racism.
A lot of Koreans males actually don't wear makeup. It's an idol thing for both genders to look "pretty." Makeup is a distinctive feature of Kpop idols.
Actually when Jungkook said he was 15 when he joined BTS he was referring to his korean age (different way of counting). He was actually 13 years old. *IMPRESSIVE*
He was 14 when he joined, RM was 16, almost 17, all were sooo young & when I researched back, I found that there's no other group, ever, that has been so prolific with all the huuge amount of music content + social media content, that they did, it's craaazy!! They all stayed so nice, too, thru everything!..So proud of them!💜
@@annemayseyfried8907 Exactly! That's why I'll always stand up for them against haters. Regardless if you like their music or not I dare someone to come at them as if they're not super hardworking, full of talent, honorable and humble people!
Another fact about RM: • Back when RM was the only one who knew English, he translated the English hate comments into positive comments and kept all the hate to himself. (It’s so heartbreaking :c )
of course we love them all a lot, but "the third guy from the left " was a nickname from the american non-ARMY people to JIN as they saw him really attractive :3
he have many of that kinda nicknames for going viral lol. like car door guy, the third guy from left ,zoom in guy, flying kiss guy, Guy with the Grey hoodie, pink mic guy, the guy who cry beautifully (lol) , the guy in waistcoat and ... wow I think I can give u an assay if I want to comment all his nicknames lol.
It’s kinda hilarious, tho. There’s multiple nicknames for all of them, too. “Chim Chim” probably being the most famous. I’m curious, do Korean ARMY’s refer to them like we often do? Or do y’all think we’re nuts? Lol!
Kelly Goins chim chim isnt the most famous bts nickname , the most famous nickname in general is worldwide handsome for jin , but chim chim is one of the oldest ones, jimin nickname chim chim started in american hustle life by tony. and yes koreans use nickname even more than international ARMY there are many example for jimin "Mang gae ddeok" which mean rice cake or " a man with a baby face but a glamorous body" (I just put the translation cuz it took too much to say the koreans and eng). or manner-dol for jin or sexy guy who can cook for jin and ...
Actually Jungkook was the one who sang those high notes in Carpool Karaoke, he was sitting in the middle row to the right. Jimin was in the middle row to the left with the RED jacket 👍
**LONG TEXT AHEAD** Since everyone here seems to be talking about Jungkook, I wanted to answer some other questions you had during the video, hope I could help clear up some stuff. I typed this during the video, so it might be a bit random It's interesting how you call RM the Eminem of Korea cuz Suga usually gets that title instead lol For the nicknames, the names in the video are their stage names, Army usually call them by their real names, like RM=Namjoon, Suga=Yoongi etc. Of course there are nickname we call them behind their backs but I'm sure they know all of them haha, for example Jimin=Mochi, and Jin=WWH as you probably already know from the Carpool video, other than those, Suga=Lil meow meow, J Hope=Hobi, Jungkook=Kookie, V=Tae etc. (also Namjoon as president!!! 💓) Don't mind if you didn't get Jin's joke, it's a Korean-English pun, if my memories are correct, he said so-song is when a cow sing, combining cow (so) in Korean and song in English, which makes the word lawsuit (so-song) in Korean Jin actually was the only one recognized by the Grammys as having a "silver voice", he may not have a singing background but he is definitely one of the most pheomenal singers in the world now You pronounced Suga's name right, don't worry, basically it is sugar without the r, and the song you like by him is Never mind. Funfact, Jimin actually has a 'never mind' fake tattoo (I don't know if it is real or not) on his right rib cage often when he preforms, which follows the lyrics "Never mind , It’s not easy but engrave it onto your chest", makes me soft every time I think about that (just my own interpretation) They always sing live, and since they're always so perfect, many people accuse them of lip syncing, that's why Suga will suddenly stop rapping sometimes during live performances to show the haters that they ain't lip syncing :) The song where Jimin flicked off his jacket is Blood, Sweat and Tears, one of their most popular songs, however, it is part of the Bangtan storyline, if you want to look into the Bangtan Universe, I recommend you following the order of the songs and watch the explaination video after that (the one by xCeleste is really good) I'm not too sure about the order of the songs, but I know it starts from I Need U (19+) version, maybe some other Armys will know more. To make it clear, their songs, lyrics have their own meaning, but the visuals, curtain music videos, stage performances etc make up a whole different fictional story line (think of it like a movie or TV series) Each member play their own character in this story line and it can be confusing since it reflects some of the members experience or feelings in reality (for example in Jimin's Lie, it's about Jimin feeling insecure about his body image/lying about his feelings, but it also link to the story line especially the imagery in the music video) V's voice is really deep, but he can hit'em high notes too, I think he has the largest voice range in the group Loved the reaction, you seem like a really genuine person, I also like that you read basically every line of the video, a lot of other reactors don't pay that much attention/can't keep up with the words but don't pause to read Edit: This was really long lol, but I hope it was useful
Lemon Tea Damn you really explained everything. I‘ve been an Army for so long but never understood the „lawsuit pun“. _Thank you for explaining it to me_
Not always, they sometimes sing w heavy backtracking which is close to lip syncing since it’s so heavy but it’s understandable since they dance so much they don’t wanna overexhast the performers, but they do and can sing live as often as they can but not always that’s just stretching the truth
Hey just wanted to say great reaction. Also I see that people are recommending that you react to award show performances like MMA 2019 and MAMA but I think as someone who is completely new to the vast world of BTS you should listen to more of their music and get to know the members better before you start watching those type of performances. Mind you, MMA 2019 was THE BEST live performance I’ve ever seen, but if you don’t know the songs and the members, you’re going to be completely lost. So in my opinion I think you should watch more of their official MV’s and maybe compilation videos that showcase the members distinct personalities so that you can really tell them apart. People get really excited and start recommending their amazing performances without realizing that the reactor still needs to actually get to know BTS and their music. Thanks for the reaction💜💜💜 Some MV’s I recommend are: Mic Drop Fake Love Both versions of ON DNA Compilation vids: From Nobodies to Legends 2019 Bts Crash course 2020 Namjoon being done with BTS’ English BTS being extra in America
kim namjoon went from being bashed for ‘betraying hip hop’ and not fitting in the korean ‘beauty standards’ to being one of the most influential people in the universe
Oh, and you're question about the makeup, it's actually quite normal for men in Korea to wear makeup, mostly eyeliner or some light foundation, nothing over the top, but that rapper who said that was just being mean because he thought bts wouldn't be as big as they are now, because that interview was still... Im not completely sure, but I think it was right after or before their debut
it's not in the norm for korean men to wear make up, it's normal to take very good care of your skin though. Make up on men is something that is for models, singers, actors, etc. Most korean men would judge other men for wearing it, not in a "are you a girl" way, but in a "why are you so vain ?" or "do you think you're famous or something ?" way. The rappers shading bts though were trying to shame them for becoming idols and betraying what they view as "real hip hop" culture, which is bullshit since hip hop artists do wear make up on stage.
@@SakuNishi Yea, thats kind of what I meant, but the reason I said it kind of normal, is becuese I have just experienced more korean men to wear light eyeliner or something small like that, but thank you for correcting me😋
Just finished watching, and I really wanna thank you for being so open minded about getting to know bts and listen to their music, and i also wanna know if you could maybe react to bts funny moments, just to see how crazy(in a good way) they actually are, and again, thank you for being so open minded and taking time to listen and understand our boys💜
Your nickname should be “D-Art” D for your deep voice AND it being the first letter of your last name and Art for the “art” you create in your videos AND it being the first three letters of your first name, giving both double meanings and play on words, like BTS is famous for. Plus, it’s simple and pure!
Thank you for your genuine video and welcome to the BTS family 😊For next video you can watch Bts From nobody to legend 2019, frm here u will learn hw they start frm the beginning and hw they inspiring the world😊
It is true in the Korean Culture age is really a big deal. Same here in the Philippines. The thing in BTS is that they respect, protect, love, care, trust each other.
jimin hit the high note. He's really amazing when it comes to it, even jungkook, the one that hit the high note as you mentioned in the carpool! But i would say jimin's voice is known for having the highest pitch/range in the group :)
the best reaction I've ever seen, I love how you were totally open, deconstructed and without prejudice, you've already won my respect, kisses from brazil
Please react to bts nobodies to legends 2019, bts crash course 2020, or bts contribution to music, these videos will help you understand why they are so famous and how they are such great artists and started from nothing to work their way to where they are now. Like I said before bts are very different, they have deep and great meanings in all their songs, out of all the fame they have now they still remain humble and kind and are a bunch of goofy ass people, they helped so many people with their songs, they were hated on for so long because they came from a small unknown company and people didn't like that they had so much talent that could over top artist from bigger companies that mattered, they were low on budget, bts seriously started from the bottom and showed everyone wrong and I smh to all the people that didn't respect them back then but do now.
RM the tired father of the group who keeps everyone together and is super smart but stupidly clumsy and it’s hilarious (god of destruction) Jin the cooking father who has the attitude of a latino parent, yelling at any disrespect, but is also very lovingly adorable (a confidence king) Suga the older brother who acts tough who is actually a very gummy and caring boy but will cus you out if you anger him (secretly fatherly) Jhope the happy go lucky brother who jokes around but, like Jin, is not afraid to put the younger members in their place (lowkey motherly) Jimin the popular brother who gets all the men and ladies, he is cute and adorable but also very sassy and at times devious (a baby) V the exotic brother who is unique and majestic but also weird and quirky, in the good way, he can literally fit any aesthetic (a fetus) Jungkook the golden boy who is scary strong and crazy ambitious, he teases the others but they still love him and he is still their baby (a fetus)
Clumsily stupid?? Please rethink this statement and the implications thereof. Clumsy is one thing. Stupid another. He is NOT both and how do both words conjoin descriptively?
the high notes in carpool karaoke was jungkook as many told u but all 4 vocalists of bts can hit high notes and actually jimin and jin do most of high notes in bts. jungkook was very young when he joined 15 is his korean age (korean age is 1 or 2 years older than when the baby is born s/he is considered 1 yrs old then after the new year they add another yr ) he was around 13 when he started and the members especially jin and suga basically raised him , jin used to drive him to school making him launch boxes and stuff and suga used to sign his parental documents lol.
BTS never joke about performance onstage. Tbh I worry every time they have huge performances because it's been known that they have used respirators and canned oxygen backstage and have collapsed numerous times from exhaustion but they never let it show onstage. Things like these are why so many Asian artists and staff members respect them so much.
What a sweet spirit you have. I love your reviews of the members. Would love to see more reactions of BTS, they have sooooo much content. ARMY will glad to answer any questions you may have and they will guide you on what to watch in what order.
Glad you checked this out and getting to know them. Technically Jungkook joined as a trainee when he was 13 years old, and BTS debuted when he was 15 years old. So when he said joined when he was 15, he was referring to the Korean age. Yeah, it’s confusing lol. Something about the moment you’re born, you’re considered 1 year old. When the new year starts, you’re 2 years old... even if it’s not your birthday yet? So if they ever say their age out loud, they are probably 1-2 years younger than that.
Please don't say things like "Oh he's more hardworking" or "Oh he's the most handsome" or "Oh he can sing the best" because although its ok to have opinions, ALL the members are amazingly hard workers ALL the members are stunningly handsome and ALL the members are phenomenal singers/rappers
He's just getting to know them cut him a little slack. I understand where you're coming from but we can't expect him to know this at this point in time. He will realise this for himself.
Jimin Manoban Its fine to have opinions, but its better to acknowledge all the members, especially with something they all have (Singing/Rapping abilities, good looks, etc.) I'm not saying having an opinion is bad, but it's just better to acknowledge all of them :p
cxtton cxndy no, they did Intro: Persona, Boy In Luv, Boy With Luv, Mikrokosmos, and then all those solo segments, and then Dionysus with the remix and huge dance break in the middle. They did a ton of songs at the 2019 MMAs!
MMA is the epic performance with 5 songs plus their individual interlude. I feel though that its a lot to take in as a new fan and you wouldn't appreciate as much about it, knowing zero of those songs. So I don't think he should do that next.
11:19 I guess most of the asian respect older ones especially if you have a big age gap in some places you will add something to their names in order of respect example in korea Unnie(if you are a girl)-older sister Noona(if you are a boy)-older sister Oppa(if you are a girl)-older brother Hyung(if you are a boy)-older brother In some videos you can hear them calling Jin as Jin hyung
they always call jin hyungnim / hyung or seokjin hyung/hyungnim. jin especially is very sensitive I remember when yoongi asked him if he can call him without honorific but he strictly said no lol. and let me add something its not just for siblings , I mean a girl call their older boyfriend oppa too. or a boy call their older girlfriend noona.
I really enjoyed your reaction. I have been a fan of BTS for 6 months, I am amazed at the talent of these 7 humble young men, you will be also. I am a 64 yr. grandma from Georgia. #army
kareninthevalley Hi Karen, my first was Fire, Mic Drop, Not Today etc...A few days ago I discovered For You & One Day 💜 I’ve yet to find a song or MV or dance practice I don’t just love. I’m an ole Radio girl (20 years) music nut, never in my life time have I witnessed such talent. Nice to meet you! 💜
idk if you have watched this but i recommend you to watch youtube videos like a 'bts guide' to actually learn more about bts like a persons, to know their personalities, i promise its worth it..if you are interested of course!
4:30 good for you for having that mindset. I think all cultures have some who still believe in toxic masculinity where men must be "men" with no emotions, no weaknesses, no softness. Nothing wrong with makeup. Makeup is unisex. It's all how you perceive things. If you are confident in yourself, you have no reason for bashing others in such a manner.
11:10 Age is important in many Asian countries. South Korea, Japan, Philippines & China. We are taught to be respectful to older people you can’t talk back or disrespect them, because that’s how it should be we need to learn respect at a young age. (we also use honorifics when we talk to someone older than us) 1992 - JIN (Vocalist) 1993 - SUGA (Producer, Lead Rapper) 1994 - JHOPE (Producer, Rapper, Lead Dancer) 1994 - RM (Producer, Main Rapper, Leader) 1995 - JIMIN (Vocalist, Main Dancer) 1995 - V (Vocalist, Dancer) 1997 - JUNGKOOK (Dancer, Main Vocalist)
Wow you 100% got the message of that video and that's not often in reactors 👏🏽👏🏽 I suggest some older stuff first before diving into the new music and performances because a lot of new choreos and lyrics are references to older music and it ties in super well 😍 I suggest the music video "I need u 19+ version" and the dance practice for I need u - that's honestly still one of my favourites 💜 And whatever you react to, keep in mind NOT to do RUN BTS (their own variety show, not to be confused with the song "Run" which is fine) and their Japanese music videos! They'll get you copyright strikes because the Japanese companies are very strict about that! Videos from BangtanTV and BigHit Labels (and ofc compilations etc from other UA-camrs) are fine 👌🏼
About the Hip hop/rapper thing: In Korea, a lot of 'idol' rappers are usually looked down upon by underground rappers or solo rappers because in their eyes an 'idol' rapper is someone who can't sing so they decide to rap instead, without having prior experience or knowledge about hip hop and rap and they get all dressed up and stuff, so 'idol' rappers do get a lot of bad rep sometimes. Bobby from a group called Ikon was only acknowledged as a 'proper' rapper after winning a rap competition
Great reaction. I hope you keep delving more into these amazing guys. I have been ARMY since they debuted and I am a 60 year old mum. Their hard work, their message and the pure genuiness is what got me hooked. Oh and when Jungkook said he was 15, he was actually 13. In Korea, when you are born, you are 1 year old then on the 1st January every year you add another year. Therefore if you are born on December 30th you are 1 year old, but on the 1st January, you become 2 years old even though you are only 2 days old. Complicated right!Welcome to ARMY! We purple you 💜
29:58 they've kinda got vlogs called Bangtan Bombs on youtube (about 650 of them). They also have a variety show called BTS Run (almost 100 episodes so far). And they have a series where they travel to different countries called Bon Voyage (4 seasons so far). And they sometimes live stream on the app called VLive. They also tweet on twitter and put content up on Weverse. There's also two movie documentaries called "Burn the Stage" and "Bring the Soul". And Jungkook makes videos called GCFs (kinda like vlogs) that are amazing to watch too XD. BTS gives us a lot of content, not just awesome music lol.
Actually in Korea they are really into men wearing makeup and taking care of their appearance; the problem was that because they were doing hip hop, they “were not supposed to do it” since in Hip Hop it’s not that common (which is ridiculous). So they had to be through comments like that since the beginning, and kind of the same now because of stereotypes, xenophobia, weak masculinity and people that judge without knowing.
To know more about them you have to watch their shows-- American Hustle Life, Burn The Stage, Bring The Soul, Go BTS, BTS Gayo, Lucky Draw, BTS Rookie King, Run BTS, Bon Voyage S1-S4, Summer and Winter Package, Concerts and other shows. They have their own YT channel BangtanTV. You’re gonna love them genuinely. 💜
I think theres so much to learn about Korean music culture. I'll try. Kpop is more than just a genre in the Korean music scene. It's a separate industry. The kpop industry is a multi million dollar industry. The have their own award shows, weekly tv music shows where groups perform, music charts, etc. Kpop artists are called idols. Kpop is multi dimensional and includes not just the music but also the song and album concepts, dancing, and visuals including clothing, hair and makeup. Kpop music is blended music which includes various styles of music and rapping. It's both an auditory and visual experience. Now many call kpop manufactured music because very few idols actually participate in making the music themselves. And honestly hundreds of groups debut but few stay around very long. It's a fluid industry. The industry itself is not easy for idols. It's highly competitive for the artists and the companies treat the idols as disposable. When you audition for a company, if you are selected. You sign a contract (with the chance of making very little money) you basically sign yourself over to your label. You live in dorms, are told what to do and when to do it. Idols spend hours and hours a day training in singing, dancing and public speaking. They are weighed, put on diets, and some even get plastic surgery to maintain a perfect look. Their companies determine what they will sing and the concepts for their music. Their is an even darker side where female idols are not treated well at all. Since the beginning the kpop industry has been dominated by the big 3 entertainment companies that had both the money and influence to have their groups rule the kpop scene. These companies even own stock in tv networks and some of the weekly shows so it would be easy to say coming from their companies gave you a higher chance at success. 2010 In comes Big Hit, The company that manages BTS. BigHit had a whole different approach. The CEO of Big Hit used to work for one of the Big 3 and branched out on his own. While he employs some of the same practices as other kpop companies what makes the different is his approach to music. He hand selected each member for a specific talent bringing together a musicl7super group. And most importantly, he gave the members of BTS the freedom to be active participants in their music. All 3 rappers write a produce a large amount of the BTS music along with a small team at BH. BANG PD, CEO of Big Hit wanted them to make music that spoke to them. So BTD decided they wanted to make music to heal and move others. They felt it w important to sing about things that related to their own lives, things that are very odd topic for Korean society. They sang about social issues facing youth, societal pressures, anxiety, depression as well as overcoming your struggles. And bang didnt worry about forcing the to meet certain Korea beauty standards )they did impose some on themselves though just because it's their society). BH is more like a family to BTS. BH nearly went bankrupt three times until BTA found success. BTS has been through A LOT of hate and discrimination. In fact they only debuted because another group cancelled last minute. They were treated poorly by every aspect of the industry: other fandoms, companies, tv shows, etc. They were told they would never succeed, made fun of because they were from a small unknown company and basically crappedon by everyone yet they continued making music. (They actually began making many international fans before really getting big in their own country.) It took the mover 2 years to win a basic weekly music show. But their fandom grew...and as it did the fans really did a lot to support and help BTS. Fans would give them money, buy them gifts and food. They are really a true underdog story. It wasnt until 2016 that they won an award at a kpop award show and even then other groups protested their wins. It was very difficult for them. But wth the ongoing support of their company and a growing fanbase they just kept at it. It was about 2016 when they started making US charts, albeit it pretty low but they were growing a strong fanbase. Fast forward to now. Big hot is the #+ Entertainment company in SK. BTS is the biggest group in the world. They write and produce a majority (all members contribute) of their music and they maintain a very personal relationship with their fans throughout social media, vlogs, behind the scene logs, and live vlogs. They are the epitome of a true underdog story. On top of all that you will find the members to be more than friends, they are brothers. very protective of one other and very supportive. They are special humans.
Everyone here is answering questions and saying more serious stuff and I’m over here like “I felt it when he was partially crying but still dancing to the song.”
So fun fact, RM and J-Hope were also recently promoted to full-members of the Korea Music Copyright Association, joining Suga who was inducted in 2018. So all of our Rapper-producers are members now! (Side-note, I really love this intro video but I do wish it did a little more justice to J-Hope as a producer. He has 103 credits to his name (the second most in the group, after RM) and he's so passionate and hard-working when it comes to writing. He's given us a lot of our favorite melodies.)
I like this dude because he doesn’t skip parts or cut the video. I like long reactions! With his bts mv reactions tho, he should go all the way to the end. You wouldn’t want to miss a thing when it comes to bts!! 💜💜
jin didnt have any musical background at all singing dancing and ... , and V, suga and RM had no dancing back ground. I made ur comment a bit easier to understand :)
Seeing how you were shocked by Jimin's dancing you should probably check their performance at MMA 2019 (an award show) it's pretty long but it's worth every second. They show individual and group stages, probably one of bts's biggest live performances ever. Oh BTW thank you for your reactions 💜
the one hitting the high note in this video is jimin, u were watching his part. the one in the carpool karaoke was jungkook, the last guy shown here (: my baby jimin can hit really high notes, his voice is amazing
I am OT7 (that means I don't have a bias a.k.a. favourite and instead support them as a whole), and even people who have biases will like and send love to all 7. There's no "who's the better one overall" because that's not how ARMY rolls ^^
Hey! I enjoyed your reaction!! And just to let you know, we love them all, of course there could be one of them which we can relate more than the others but other than that army (bts fans) love them the same amount, for us all are equally intelligent, talented and good looking!!🥰💜
I don’t think any of the members have a ‘proper’ singing background. RM and Suga were rappers from the start, Jhope was a dancer and had to learn to rap and sing, Jin was training to be an actor not an idol, V accompanied a friend to the auditions and was scouted there, hence V most likely had no training until he became a trainee and Jungkook already stated that he wasn’t expecting to become the main vocal because he had mostly a dance background. It’s honestly amazing how they became this massive around the world and I’m so proud of them. I’ve been a fan since their debut and they’ve grown up so much 🥺 (I sound like there mum even though I’m 7 years younger than Jungkook 😂😂😂)
JK Wifeu I now wonder if Jimin had a singing background. Like, he obviously had a dance background if he was the top student of contemporary dance, but did they also teach singing at his arts school? (Baby Army -over two months- right here)
The song you wanted to know what it's called to react to is called blood sweat and tears, very good song you should react to their debut song too so different from them now but so fun to watch it's called no more dream 😊
In Korea Kpop, make-up is very normal and common, as Suga in another interview at the grammys ever describe Kpop as 'integrated content' which involves music, choreography, costumes clothes, make-up, visuals and stage settings (which provides audio & visual entertainment). So idols in Korea including the men wear make-up for their performances. However, we also do know that make-up is actually a norm especially if you're a celebrity and you have to appear on TV. But that rapper was dissing BTS in front of RM & Suga, because he didn't think BTS would become this BIG as they are today.
Jin is the visual, all ARMYs have different opinions on who is most good looking. I think BigHit thinks Jin in the most handsome because they picked him for the visual.
Absolutely! Jin is the "official group visual" and most definitely WWH. And yet, the most exciting part is ALL BTS members are like fine wine, they get better with age. They all went from cute & cuddly to hot and handsome....just plain pretty, each and every one of them.
Thank you for reacting! Btw there’s a lot of army suggesting videos that I probably won’t recommend watching them now due to you are still learning about them :) maybe continue watching introduction videos and some of their music until you know all the members well💜 that’s just my opinion but anything is fine, thank you ! :)
The hip hop community and kpop community in Korea clash all the time. Hip hop artists in Korea are actual rappers.. they write their verses and rap over beats. It’s nothing like Kpop at all. The Kpop world has many rappers in it but most idols that are “rappers” are just assigned that role because their singing is weaker or they have some charisma. Basically every Kpop group has a “rapper” but it’s not a legit rapper or hip hop artist, it’s just someone who learned how to rap or talk over the beat in a “cool” way. That’s why the hip hop and kpop communities clash, because real rappers in Korea don’t consider Kpop artists to be able to pull off authentic hip hop or rapping. That’s why BTS is such a special group and why RM and Suga got so much hate. They’re real hip hop community rappers but performing in Kpop. This basically means no one would take them seriously as rappers anymore due to the stereotype of most Kpop rappers. However we all know they’re real and legit at their craft and even better than so many so called “rappers” in the Korean hip hop community who look down on them. Just because they’re in a boy band it doesn’t take away their legitimacy and talent. Just wanted to explain this to you because many don’t know the context of the Korean music industry before watching this.
Yeah we definitely don't mind long videos because they're interesting and I have seen a reaction video to this that lasted almost 2 hours but I still watched it til the end because it was interesting to hear people's thoughts and stories.
now you'll understand why ARMYs get so mad when someone's disrepecting them without knowing who they are. they criticize the fans for liking BTS just because they're pretty people but they don't know that we love them for who they are because they are more than just their songs and their dances.
We can see anything whid Bts , the have a channel called Bangtan Tv, a show called Run. We can see when the where at Billboard, Ama, Grammy. we can also see when the have had vacation is called Bon Voyage 1 Scandinavia, Bon Voyage 2 Hawai, Bon Voyage 3 Malta and Bon Voyage 4 New Zeeland
Actually we like all the members equally because they all contribute to BTS in their own ways. There isn't like the "most favorite" member lmao. But Jin and V does get a lot of comments for their good looks :)

Jungkook was the one hitting the high note in carpool karaoke. But actually all the vocalist can hit high notes.
It was the youngest member, Jungkook, who made those killer high notes in James Corden’s Carpool Karaoke
Regina Chu rappers too, 😏
*flashbacks to that one karaoke run bts episode*
He was 13 when he joined
@@nicoleloss7987 Yes. 13
I thought it was 1 year difference. Not 2. Let's not stretch the truth here lol
Another fact about RM:
• Back when RM was the only one who knew English, he translated the English hate comments into positive comments and kept all the hate to himself. (It’s so heartbreaking :c )
That's our leader!!!😭😭😭
That's y Suga cried so much when they won their 1st award. Cuz he thought of all the Hardships that RM had to go thru as a leader.
of course we love them all a lot, but "the third guy from the left " was a nickname from the american non-ARMY people to JIN as they saw him really attractive :3
he have many of that kinda nicknames for going viral lol. like car door guy, the third guy from left ,zoom in guy, flying kiss guy, Guy with the Grey hoodie, pink mic guy, the guy who cry beautifully (lol) , the guy in waistcoat and ... wow I think I can give u an assay if I want to comment all his nicknames lol.
K.I.D I was gonna say the same. The locals gave it to him but then I’d have to explain locals😁
It’s kinda hilarious, tho. There’s multiple nicknames for all of them, too. “Chim Chim” probably being the most famous. I’m curious, do Korean ARMY’s refer to them like we often do? Or do y’all think we’re nuts? Lol!
Kelly Goins chim chim isnt the most famous bts nickname , the most famous nickname in general is worldwide handsome for jin , but chim chim is one of the oldest ones, jimin nickname chim chim started in american hustle life by tony. and yes koreans use nickname even more than international ARMY there are many example for jimin "Mang gae ddeok" which mean rice cake or " a man with a baby face but a glamorous body" (I just put the translation cuz it took too much to say the koreans and eng). or manner-dol for jin or sexy guy who can cook for jin and ...
actually korean nicknames are the weirdest nicknames u might hear but cute at the same time.
BTW when JungKook said "15", it is actually 13. Please minus off 2 years. Koreans count their age differently 😁.
Everyone just used to make fun of BTS when they debuted but now they're legends
Jungkook became a trainee when he was 13 but debuted at 15/16 so he's been living with the guys since he was 13, they literally raised him 😂
Actually Jungkook was the one who sang those high notes in Carpool Karaoke, he was sitting in the middle row to the right. Jimin was in the middle row to the left with the RED jacket 👍
**LONG TEXT AHEAD**
Since everyone here seems to be talking about Jungkook, I wanted to answer some other questions you had during the video, hope I could help clear up some stuff. I typed this during the video, so it might be a bit random
It's interesting how you call RM the Eminem of Korea cuz Suga usually gets that title instead lol
For the nicknames, the names in the video are their stage names, Army usually call them by their real names, like RM=Namjoon, Suga=Yoongi etc. 💓)
Don't mind if you didn't get Jin's joke, it's a Korean-English pun, if my memories are correct, he said so-song is when a cow sing, combining cow (so) in Korean and song in English, which makes the word lawsuit (so-song) in Korean
Jin actually was the only one recognized by the Grammys as having a "silver voice", he may not have a singing background but he is definitely one of the most pheomenal singers in the world now
You pronounced Suga's name right, don't worry, basically it is sugar without the r, and the song you like by him is Never mind. Funfact, Jimin actually has a 'never mind' fake tattoo (I don't know if it is real or not) on his right rib cage often when he preforms, which follows the lyrics "Never mind
, It’s not easy but engrave it onto your chest", makes me soft every time I think about that (just my own interpretation)
They always sing live, and since they're always so perfect, many people accuse them of lip syncing, that's why Suga will suddenly stop rapping sometimes during live performances to show the haters that they ain't lip syncing :)
The song where Jimin flicked off his jacket is Blood, Sweat and Tears, one of their most popular songs, however, it is part of the Bangtan storyline, if you want to look into the Bangtan Universe, I recommend you following the order of the songs and watch the explaination video after that (the one by xCeleste is really good)
I'm not too sure about the order of the songs, but I know it starts from I Need U (19+) version, maybe some other Armys will know more. To make it clear, their songs, lyrics have their own meaning, but the visuals, curtain music videos, stage performances etc make up a whole different fictional story line (think of it like a movie or TV series)
Each member play their own character in this story line and it can be confusing since it reflects some of the members experience or feelings in reality (for example in Jimin's Lie, it's about Jimin feeling insecure about his body image/lying about his feelings, but it also link to the story line especially the imagery in the music video)
V's voice is really deep, but he can hit'em high notes too, I think he has the largest voice range in the group
Loved the reaction, you seem like a really genuine person, I also like that you read basically every line of the video, a lot of other reactors don't pay that much attention/can't keep up with the words but don't pause to read
Edit: This was really long lol, but I hope it was useful
Lemon Tea
Damn you really explained everything.
I‘ve been an Army for so long but never understood the „lawsuit pun“. _Thank you for explaining it to me_
@@theunicorn1167 Glad I helped 💜
With me being a long date ARMY thank you for explaining this much and so well about our boys darling 💜💜💜💜
@@savanah5892 Thanks 💜💜💜
Thanks for the reaction💜💜💜
Some MV’s I recommend are:
Mic Drop
Fake Love
Both versions of ON
DNA
Compilation vids:
From Nobodies to Legends 2019
Bts Crash course 2020
Namjoon being done with BTS’ English
BTS being extra in America
Yvonne Powell Yeeeeesss pleaseeeee
kim namjoon went from being bashed for ‘betraying hip hop’ and not fitting in the korean ‘beauty standards’ to being one of the most influential people in the universe
Carpool karaoke was JungKook who hit the high note not Jimin. But Jimin can hit high notes too.
24:48 it's "blood sweat and tears "
I love how his room is perfectly purple 💜
When he said rm was like the korean Eminem I was like, dude wait till you see suga🤣
I really appreciate the fact that you actually didn't said anything rude & you respected them, i guess im your fan now😄💜
Oh, and you're question about the makeup, it's actually quite normal for men in Korea to wear makeup, mostly eyeliner or some light foundation, nothing over the top, but that rapper who said that was just being mean because he thought bts wouldn't be as big as they are now, because that interview was still...
@@SakuNishi Yea, thats kind of what I meant, but the reason I said it kind of normal, is becuese I have just experienced more korean men to wear light eyeliner or something small like that, but thank you for correcting me😋
Actually it’s a culture in Asia that we have to respect for people who older than us. Even they’re just one year older than you. :)
If you’re looking for a live performance you should react to them performing at the 2017 MAMA in Hong Kong. It’s amazing 🤯so is the MAMA from 2019!!
It’s important in Portugal too
Your nickname should be “D-Art” D for your deep voice AND it being the first letter of your last name and Art for the “art” you create in your videos AND it being the first three letters of your first name, giving both double meanings and play on words, like BTS is famous for. Plus, it’s simple and pure!
The song you said you wanted to react to is called "Blood Sweat and Tears" *TRUST ME* its a bop!
Thank you for your genuine video and welcome to the BTS family 😊For next video you can watch Bts From nobody to legend 2019, frm here u will learn hw they start frm the beginning and hw they inspiring the world😊
I just wanna say congratulations because you meet BTS. Welcome to our BTS&ARMY family. Keep going, please be nice to our boys 💜🌻
It is true in the Korean Culture age is really a big deal. Same here in the Philippines. The thing in BTS is that they respect, protect, love, care, trust each other.
Most of asia actually. We have to respect our elders
Ahh I think Jimin just caught another man 😂 Your reaction at 23:34... There is one quote: Once you JimIn you can't JimOut
jimin hit the high note. He's really amazing when it comes to it, even jungkook, the one that hit the high note as you mentioned in the carpool! But i would say jimin's voice is known for having the highest pitch/range in the group :)
Suga is the Korean Eminem, sir :) LOL I noticed even if the best is just slow Suga, still raps soooooo fast. I can’t even say Lachimolala LOL
the best reaction I've ever seen, I love how you were totally open, deconstructed and without prejudice, you've already won my respect, kisses from brazil
23:52 The JIMIN effect, everyone. 😏
Every member have their own fans equally..we ARMY loves all 7 eventho we have our own bias...
Jimin (top student at a art school) is the guy called “baby mochi” in carpool karaoke. its because he has such a fluffy cute face🥰
RM the tired father of the group who keeps everyone together and is super smart but stupidly clumsy and it’s hilarious (god of destruction)
Jin the cooking father who has the attitude of a latino parent, yelling at any disrespect, but is also very lovingly adorable (a confidence king)
Suga the older brother who acts tough who is actually a very gummy and caring boy but will cus you out if you anger him (secretly fatherly)
Jhope the happy go lucky brother who jokes around but, like Jin, is not afraid to put the younger members in their place (lowkey motherly)
Jimin the popular brother who gets all the men and ladies, he is cute and adorable but also very sassy and at times devious (a baby)
V the exotic brother who is unique and majestic but also weird and quirky, in the good way, he can literally fit any aesthetic (a fetus)
Jungkook the golden boy who is scary strong and crazy ambitious, he teases the others but they still love him and he is still their baby (a fetus)
Bro this is 2020 and people still think of bts like this the cringe is real
Clumsily stupid?? Please rethink this statement and the implications thereof. Clumsy is one thing. Stupid another. He is NOT both and how do both words conjoin descriptively?
Honey bee maybe I should’ve put stupidly clumsy
V isn't weird or quirky though he grew up and is more quiet now I would say
And calling them fetus is weird I'm sorry lmao
Fati A let them be, if its not about delulu shipping seeing them in this roles kinda describe them .
"do they make vlogs?" ahahahahahahahaha hahaha oh boy so much vlogging all the time you have no idea
Jin is now one of the more outstanding singers. He's has mastered falsetos and high notes. He's super lovely and loves making other people laugh!
yes even Grammy and many music award shows and experts highly praised his skills , high notes , falsettos and breath control.
the high notes in carpool karaoke was jungkook as many told u but all 4 vocalists of bts can hit high notes and actually jimin and jin do most of high notes in bts. jungkook was very young when he joined 15 is his korean age (korean age is 1 or 2 years older than when the baby is born s/he is considered 1 yrs old then after the new year they add another yr ) he was around 13 when he started and the members especially jin and suga basically raised him , jin used to drive him to school making him launch boxes and stuff and suga used to sign his parental documents lol.
We BTS Army love the 7 of them. They have their own charm. No competition. 💜
I love that after every member you give a first impression and feedback 💜💜
Please don't say things like "Oh he's more hardworking" or "Oh he's the most handsome" or "Oh he can sing the best" because although its ok to have opinions, ALL the members are amazingly hard workers ALL the members are stunningly handsome and ALL the members are phenomenal singers/rappers
He's just getting to know them cut him a little slack. I understand where you're coming from but we can't expect him to know this at this point in time. He will realise this for himself.
minks 2B I guess you're right...
It doesn’t matter everyone has their own opinions
Jimin Manoban Its fine to have opinions, but its better to acknowledge all the members, especially with something they all have (Singing/Rapping abilities, good looks, etc.) I'm not saying having an opinion is bad, but it's just better to acknowledge all of them :p
@@mg6070 ofc it's okay to have opinions but it's still nicer to appreciate all the same or atleast kind of the same :)
omgg havent even watched it but im already excited. Next could u maybe react to bts MMA 2019 performance? its epic
MMA not MAMA.
cxtton cxndy no, they did Intro: Persona, Boy In Luv, Boy With Luv, Mikrokosmos, and then all those solo segments, and then Dionysus with the remix and huge dance break in the middle. They did a ton of songs at the 2019 MMAs!
MMA is the epic performance with 5 songs plus their individual interlude. I feel though that its a lot to take in as a new fan and you wouldn't appreciate as much about it, knowing zero of those songs. So I don't think he should do that next.
@@ForgetfulDreams6 yea I actually meant the MMA's I got them mixed up
This is a great intro to the members as individuals, but just bare in mind it is fanmade and kinda old now. So many things have changed
of course we dont mind longer videos, since we even stay up late just to watch a glimpse of bts :)
11:19
I guess most of the asian respect older ones especially if you have a big age gap in some places you will add something to their names in order of respect example in korea
Unnie(if you are a girl)-older sister
Noona(if you are a boy)-older sister
Oppa(if you are a girl)-older brother
Hyung(if you are a boy)-older brother
In some videos you can hear them calling Jin as Jin hyung
they always call jin hyungnim / hyung or seokjin hyung/hyungnim. jin especially is very sensitive I remember when yoongi asked him if he can call him without honorific but he strictly said no lol. and let me add something its not just for siblings , I mean a girl call their older boyfriend oppa too. or a boy call their older girlfriend noona.
I really enjoyed your reaction. I have been a fan of BTS for 6 months, I am amazed at the talent of these 7 humble young men, you will be also. I am a 64 yr. grandma from Georgia. #army
Hurray! 57 here. Been following their career since debut, but first song i really loved was Not Today.
kareninthevalley Hi Karen, my first was Fire, Mic Drop, Not Today etc...A few days ago I discovered For You & One Day 💜 I’ve yet to find a song or MV or dance practice I don’t just love. If you want to watch a live performance, I would recommend the MMA 2019 performance, that's one of my favorites
idk if you have watched this but i recommend you to watch youtube videos like a 'bts guide' to actually learn more about bts like a persons, to know their personalities, i promise its worth it..if you are interested of course!
It was jungkook the one hitting high notes in the carpool karaoke he’s the main vocalist
11:10 Age is important in many Asian countries. South Korea, Japan, Philippines & China. We are taught to be respectful to older people you can’t talk back or disrespect them, because that’s how it should be we need to learn respect at a young age.
(we also use honorifics when we talk to someone older than us)
1992 - JIN (Vocalist)
1993 - SUGA (Producer, Lead Rapper)
1994 - JHOPE (Producer, Rapper, Lead Dancer)
1994 - RM (Producer, Main Rapper, Leader)
1995 - JIMIN (Vocalist, Main Dancer)
1995 - V (Vocalist, Dancer)
1997 - JUNGKOOK (Dancer, Main Vocalist)
Wow you 100% got the message of that video and that's not often in reactors 👏🏽👏🏽 I suggest some older stuff first before diving into the new music and performances because a lot of new choreos and lyrics are references to older music and it ties in super well 😍 I suggest the music video "I need u 19+ version" and the dance practice for I need u - that's honestly still one of my favourites 💜
And whatever you react to, keep in mind NOT to do RUN BTS (their own variety show, not to be confused with the song "Run" which is fine) and their Japanese music videos!
Really thank you for appreciation to them 🤧💛 I love your reaction too much.
Suga is actually known for being the Korean Eminem 💜💜
I like this dude because he doesn’t skip parts or cut the video. I like long reactions! With his bts mv reactions tho, he should go all the way to the end. You wouldn’t want to miss a thing when it comes to bts!! 💜💜
JIn had no background in singing and dancing just like RM, SUGA, V.. but they all work Hard to learn dancing aside from singing..
jin didnt have any musical background at all singing dancing and ... , and V, suga and RM had no dancing back ground.
24:40 That song is "Blood, Sweat and Tears"
I am OT7 (that means I don't have a bias a.k.a. favourite and instead support them as a whole), and even people who have biases will like and send love to all 7. There's no "who's the better one overall" because that's not how ARMY rolls ^^
Hey! I enjoyed your reaction!! And just to let you know, we love them all, of course there could be one of them which we can relate more than the others but other than that army (bts fans) love them the same amount, for us all are equally intelligent, talented and good looking!!🥰💜
And yes, they are like a family, oír family, as you now 😉🥰a big family all over the world
Everyone of them is a hard worker im telling u they all try to do their best n makes sure dat every thing is perfect
I love your eyes, and you are always smile. Thank you for finding out who BTS is. Waiting for your another react to BTS vid
Jungkook had a sing background to he audience for a kid music show .got offers from 8 companies
JK Wifeu
I now wonder if Jimin had a singing background. Like, he obviously had a dance background if he was the top student of contemporary dance, but did they also teach singing at his arts school? (Baby Army -over two months- right here)
No jimin had no singing background just dancing.
Nicole Loss
Thanks I‘ve been wondering that for a while
Jungkook was a natural singer and a b boy
Taehong lmao thats one of the funniest pronounciations of Taehyung Ive ever heard 🤣
The song you wanted to know what it's called to react to is called blood sweat and tears, very good song you should react to their debut song too so different from them now but so fun to watch it's called no more dream 😊
New subscriber here looking forward to more reactions, p.s ur rly funny. be prepared for lots of recommendations HAHAHAH
Ohhhh. Liking that purple light. We purple BTS. 💜💜💜
Please do react to BTS from Nobodies to Legends Pt 2
Thank you💜
Thanks for giving something different a chance :) Welcome to the black hole, you'll enjoy it here... but there's no return haha
Thank you for taking the time to learn about BTS, they are an amazing Korean group.
This song was blood sweat and tears
Jungkook is the one how hit the high notes in carpole karaoke
He totally talked over jk high notes and vocals during karaoke 😂
The name of the song is "Blood, Sweat and Tears".
Thank you for reacting! Btw there’s a lot of army suggesting videos that I probably won’t recommend watching them now due to you are still learning about them :) maybe continue watching introduction videos and some of their music until you know all the members well💜 that’s just my opinion but anything is fine, thank you ! :)
' Boy with Love' thats a lovely song
19:22 you are so correct. BTS is soooooo much more than music for us ARMYs
now you'll understand why ARMYs get so mad when someone's disrepecting them without knowing who they are. they criticize the fans for liking BTS just because they're pretty people but they don't know that we love them for who they are because they are more than just their songs and their dances.
I love how moved you got but especially for jimin. I was sleeping on jimin for a minute but he is a sweet angel from heaven and I love him so much.
