We need to be careful with the term “free” medical. Native Americans living on the Reservations get “free” medical. As it was a deal with the US government that them selling the land paid / prepaid for medical care. That division of the US budget is underfunded purposely and Native people are suffering from reduced quality of care and lower life expectancy. For me, give me a check, and I will have the freedom to spend as I please.
I work in healthcare. We provide a 'service,' not a right. I don't owe anyone healthcare. I do it because I like to help people that value it, not think they are entitled to it. Funny how people who think healthcare is a birth right, are not the ones providing it. Hello Judah, read this article co published by the New Yorker , by Lizzie Presser, July 15 2019, titled "Their family Bought Land One Generation After Slavery:The Reels Brothers Spent Eight Years in Jail for Refusing to Leave it", it will widen your perspective and range on this topic. During the Jim Crow Era, blacks did not have access to the legal system and land was taken from their heirs, by the state, due to lack of wills. Just as the decendents of Jewish Holocaust and native Americans receive federal reparations, then so would black Americans decendents of slaves. African sellers should be held liable as well, but that doesn't absolve state and federal government that sanctioned the atrocities and benefited so greatly from enslaved people, and benefited as a result of Jim crow laws, red lining etc. So, just as you would expect in a case of human/sex trafficking, the buyers and sellers must both be punished.

There were ethnic reasons for doing so, like, religious persecution, debt payment, and prisoners of war. Even more, Dahomey did not implement chattel slavery like Euro-Americans did. They also didn't spend another century committing race massacres, racial discrimination, unethical business practices, legal discrimination, gerrymandering, redlining, seizing lands, etc. Dahomey also wasn't the ones who took the funds that was meant to go to freely new slaves and give it to slaveowners. There's a lot of things Dahomey didn't do that Euro-Americans need to pay for.

During the Jim Crow Era, blacks did not have access to the legal system and land was taken from their heirs, by the state, due to lack of wills. Just as the decendents of Jewish Holocaust and native Americans receive federal reparations, then so would black Americans decendents of slaves. African sellers should be held liable as well, but that doesn't absolve state and federal government that sanctioned the atrocities and benefited so greatly from enslaved people, and benefited as a result of Jim crow laws, red lining etc. So, just as you would expect in a case of human/sex trafficking, the buyers and sellers must both be punished.

There were ethnic reasons for doing so, like, religious persecution, debt payment, and prisoners of war. Even more, Dahomey did not implement chattel slavery like Euro-Americans did. They also didn't spend another century committing race massacres, racial discrimination, unethical business practices, legal discrimination, gerrymandering, redlining, seizing lands, etc.
Dahomey also wasn't the ones who took the funds that was meant to go to freely new slaves and give it to slaveowners. There's a lot of things Dahomey didn't do that Euro-Americans need to pay for.
