I wish I had a nickle for every time I bought an expensive knife a reviewer told me was awesome only to find out it attacks my nipples. I am glad someone is finally addressing this glaring over site.
Interesting fact. We are currently on gen6 of the xm18. Gen 5 came out at shot show and introduced a lockbar insert. At blade show We now have the gen 6 featuring an interchangeable pivot system. It come with a set of captured bearing washers, bronze washers and the standard Teflon.
Didn't think you would actually baton someone else's Hinderer, so props to Framelocks for giving you permission. Must now ponder the acquisition of a sub-$500 hot dog package openerer...
Who will complain when being landed knives for review? I wouldn’t. But I’m not a “reviewer”. At least not a public one. I’m here for the review build and not necessarily for the knives, which in tis case are completely flying under my radar. For the same reasons you mentioned. Enjoyed your production very much, as per usual! 👍🏻👍🏻🤓😎
Love your videos, and i agree 100% on your take on $200+ knives. Now my rant: i had an itch to scratch for years, and instead of getting a doctors apointment (and re-evaluate my female companions) i got a Hinderer, non flipper slicer, and a Sebenza. Imho, the Sebenza is kind of "worth it" if that's what you want. The Hinderer is not... For me at least. The Seb. Is really nice to carry, has a refeshing non-tacticool/old school/timeless/boring(?) look, the blade/knife is nice and slim for most utility work, and it has flawless build quality. The Hinderer feels a bit bulky, and acctualy more hevy than it really is, doesn't cut all that well, and came with a rattling stop pin. My most carried knives are still the Manix2, Delica, Buck Vantage Avid, Cold Steel Am. Lawman and CRKT M16 01z. Oh, and the itch is still present...
Hindererers are those kind of knives I appreciate that exist, think they look fairly decent, acknowledge they're well built and can't find any significant faults with them--yet, I just haven't found a compelling reason to spend $400+ on one. To those who love them, that's awesome! Maybe I'll join your ranks someday. Weirder things have happened.
I felt that way when I bought mine. It was a shot in the dark, and I had 30 days to return it as long as it wasn’t used. I was a bit unsure for a few days, only because I didn’t know what to make of it in hand. It wasn’t as svelt as my Umnumzaan, or as burly as my old SnG. It was this in between sweet spot of utilitarian/tactical and high quality aesthetics. It looks bad ass, yet up close, in hand you can tell a lot of thought went into the design and grip. So I sold my Umnumzaan and still have a number of knives to pick from, but I only carry the XM-18 anymore. I’m starting to look at customizing it with different scales or hardware. It’s amazing, and a real tool, not just a toy to look at.
I went from owning shirogorovs and looking at hinderers wondering what the fuss was about. I picked one up out of curiosity and now I am on number 5 and I also just gifted one to my father. They are great users and if I was to have a one knife collection it would be between an xm-18 and a large sebenza. They are a little rough around the edges when compared to the higher end stuff above them but to me they are a big step above anything Spyderco or Benchmade is putting out right now.
TheSandreth I draw a line at the price of a firearm. Anything north of 250 is out of the question, and I’m pretty sure the law of diminishing returns is at play around 150 anyway.
There are the zt hinderer... ers that kinda give you the same look, out of the same materials, but no sweet horse logo. Your reviews are great, can we send you beer, either for review, or out of gratitude, or both?
If a person would really like to send beer I may or may not have time to review, they can always contact me at advancedknifebro at gmail. They don't get much in return other than knowing I enjoyed it, whatever it tastes like. Unless it has raisin flavoring in it. That beer exists, and can go to hell.
Funny I was at Chris Reeve's shop today picking up some knives that I had sharpened. I had them de-convex a Bark River Bravo Necker and sharpen a Cold Steel barong machete. That machete was used and abused for many years. They put a mirror edge on that sucker and took the chips out of it. It's like a fucking light saber! Really excellent work.
"Hit me in the titt", "sensitive nipples".....HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! ON THE FLOOR! Sorry I have the mind of a 12 year old who owns around 40 knives. Keep rollin'!!!!
ZT 0562 is a more perfect Hinderer they say. I have the 0566 coz the size is better for me. But i dont know about the Gen 6 Hinderers that have the triple pivot system
The main reason I watched this entire episode was not my interest in hinderer knifes, but because of the camaraderie I felt in knowing that someone else out there could relate to the suit coat carry and the resulting nipple soreness from to heavy a knife! We are brothers you and I. Tender nipple twins! Pasty pals, well you get the idea...
Fist time ever hearing the English word ‘nipple’ in a knife revue.... holy shit AKB is awesome at this. You won YT overall man. Don’t know what your prize is (maybe crabs?) but you earned it 😃
I have big hands n use an investigator pen. Please review one after edcing for 6 months. I now hate using other pens but hated it when I first bought it. Since then I’ve been eyeing the xm18 thanks for the awesome review n comparison. I now want both sizes
Nipple sensitivity is the metric of the future. AKB staying ahead of the curve. That's why he's ADVANCED. Give Tactical Baby 1.0 a hug, and give 2.0 an external pat.
ZT 0562CF is a $250 Hindererer with better materials and the same build quality. I'll sell mine to you if you want it. Great knife, but not lefty friendly.
You want something that is a Hinderer, but is cheaper? ZT0561/2 or ZT0566 and half the price of a Hinderer. And it isn't a knock off. Did I mention that they come in S35VN and Elmax?
ive got 2 XM18s .. a Bowie and a Skinner .. both buttery smooth and lock up SOLID .. both are S35VN and hold a RAZOR SHARP edge .. not my favorite folder , but no complaints about the XM18 from this knife guy 👍🏼
Got the tri way version with bearings and I agree the flipper with its odd sharp angle is not comfortable to use at first. Don’t understand this at this price level. Cool knife otherwise.
I just can not understand teflon at this price range. Especially by a company that seems to think they make hard use knives. What possible advantage could teflon have over bronze? Other than that it is cheaper.
Glad to see you were able to get this video up. Writers blocks can be solved by whiskey and beastie boys by the way. Its a trade secret worth sharing 😉. Your welcome.
I think, you´re one of the funnier-er knife reviewer to watch. I like your kind of humour. And as an Austrian, I have to know a lot about humour, right?!
My hard drive lets me log in now. I had it in safe mode all day yesterday and tried to do a time machine backup. I decided to restart in standard and I was able to transfer files and footage. I am not chancing this hard drive- and already have the $250 worth of parts ordered to replace the hard drive with a SSD. It literally could crap out an any time.
Who wouldn’t like your reviews? Enterertaining & informativerer. I liked my first Hinderer well enough to have just bought another - both gen-6 XM-18 3.5” models. I like the modularity of the brand and all the factory & aftermarket bling that’s available. It keeps the knife interesting to me. Kinda like when I went through my Griptilian phase. I like my Sebies too but they’ll always look the same unless I become one of them lanyard guys. NOT!
The finger should never get poked! The finger does the poking! It’s not a difficult concept really. Personally, I give it to the Lion Steel. Thanks Bro, pleasure as always. Cheers!
Fair review, I think a xm18 and a sebenza are actually comparable, one is more hard ass and one is more gentlemanly, but both very high end semi custom way overpriced blades. Strider more comparable to zero tolerance, both not custom but hard use. Then there is Emerson, maybe somewhere between.
You know...they do make a 3.5" xm-18 skinny....it's an in-between. 3 inchers thickness and blade stock 3.5 inchers size. 4.5oz in weight. They make a no choil version in m390. So...you get 3.5 inches of blade plus a better steel imo. The one I have has a slicer blade, so...less metal behind the edge vs the 3 inch slicer due to more blade width. Probably my overall favorite knife.
"𝘞𝘩𝘪𝘤𝘩 𝘬𝘯𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘴 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘬 𝘣𝘦𝘴𝘵 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘱𝘦𝘱𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘰𝘯𝘪 𝘴𝘪𝘻𝘦𝘥 𝘯𝘪𝘱𝘱𝘭𝘦𝘴?" I can't tell if you kept putting "er er" even after you said you'd stop. But I've been chuggin' Grain Belt™ so it might just be the liquor talking. Great review, bud!
haha, love this video man. very different from the "standard" review of knives , a refreshing take with the humor and very thorough. "hunting....for hotdogs"
Hi. Nice video bro. I liked the little knife but not that much. Frame locks aren't really my thing. Both knives look overdone. Too much going on. A pocket knife should be simple and sensible. Still a pretty good video though. K, bye.
I mean I could go through some... but I'd just be listing off specs- and the theory behind why people like each steel. Cedric and Adas channel is much better at dissecting blade steel than mine. One of the few review channels who has a repeatable fairly objective analysis on blade steel.
I like the idea of people loaning me stuff like this... is keeps me neutral and I don't feel like I have to be overly mean or nice... just taking a fair look at it. My most controversial review, at least by this channels standards, is guys commenting on my Sebenza review as to why that knife is worth it. I own so many cameras, lenses, bicycles, and tools that cost me much less than a Hinderer would, and a hell of a lot more went into making one of those.
I use my $400 knife ocassionally. It's not that I feel like I'm gonna hurt it- I just have other cheaper knives that are better looking and are just more fun to use.
What possesses any designer to design a flipper tab that points forward so that it digs into your finger, I will never understand that decision, you know, lets makes a flipper tab that is as absolutely uncomfortable as possible and won't everyone still say they like it because the knife is a Hinderer or Ferrum Forge (The Dao) lets call if for what it is, bullshit, don't torture us with your individuality, we don't need .
You might make the best quality videos and your super funny but I agree, not the guy to reveiw high end/ midtech Knives. So that begs the question are you really “advanced” knife bro? Whoa that’s deep man.
I hate it when a knife smacks your nipples. I’ve never owned a hinderer-er, but I’ve owned a zt 0550. Basically the same materials used, and half the cost. Thanks for another awesome video
hey, man Im looking for a really durable knife steel, ya know, can you recommend something that can withstand the divine light as I pierce the heavens. The usual goats blood dagger I use just cant stand up to the impact. thx bro, devil bless
I've had my eye on some ChinaM390. Wondering if its pretty similar to BoehlerM390. There are a few lesser known (lesser known than like... WE Knives) like TwoSun that have been coming out with some neat designs in "M390" Steel, even saw a cool looking titanium integral in "M390" steel but it was selling for like $130... so that can't be right... can it?
buy a Hinderer Knife if that's what nobody is aksking me but I am willing to tell you.I like my Hinderer'ers in ZT form. There I love them. In the 0566, the 0392 PURBLKWC and the 0393 . I also had the Cryo II that I loved but I gave it to my best friend. It'll have a happy home though. I am not sure if I have any other hinderer stuff. But I wouldn't buy a regular Hinderer if that's what you're not asking but I am just telling. Why? I don't like to invest much time after the fact. I want the out of the box nice experience. That's why I pay more for shit. I am like this and I don't apologize. I don't want to buy parts for a PC and then assemble that shit. No I want to unpack it and boom: Working computer.. The out of box experience is important and Hinderer just doesn't do it.. although ZT aren't the greatest with that either. Ok, I'll stop now.. I think I am still manic
It's coming... I still haven't wrapped my mind on what I'm going to do with it yet. The editing is going to probably take a while, and I plan on using music. When I do music slow motion and editing, it always takes longer. Nothing shot and on paper yet though.
I’m perpetually tempted by the 3.5” Bowie, but the historically crappy detent feature puts me off. It’s also a bit ridiculous for my uses, given the weight and blade thickness. Ultimately my want is tempered by the likelihood of disappointment.
I might be in the minority but I'm of the opinion the whole overbuilt knife thing is just an excuse for something that is basically heavier but doesn't add any real durability.
Name change suggestion: Advancederer Knife Bro.
I wish I had a nickle for every time I bought an expensive knife a reviewer told me was awesome only to find out it attacks my nipples. I am glad someone is finally addressing this glaring over site.
NewZona Rides lol 😆 indeed. This is not nearly addressed enough.
I really try!
NewZona Rides Idk man I like it when my knives attack my sensitive nipples
It feels very good
Nipple sensitivity is why I keep coming back here. Good review.
Gotta give the people what they want.
Videos keep getting betterer.
You haven't seen my next one yet!
Or have I, those unlisted videos get listed sometimes bro.
6 generations of perfection- That's nice!
Didn't think you would actually baton someone else's Hinderer, so props to Framelocks for giving you permission. Must now ponder the acquisition of a sub-$500 hot dog package openerer...
Great for skinning wrappers off processed meat.

Why am I craving a beer during a knife review? Interestingish.
I know right! A blue moon maybe!
Hindererers are those kind of knives I appreciate that exist, think they look fairly decent, acknowledge they're well built and can't find any significant faults with them--yet, I just haven't found a compelling reason to spend $400+ on one. Just got a ZT 0450 today.. love it
Nice!
Those actually look pretty comfy in the hand but a I draw a line when knives approach and surpass car payment territory.
TheSandreth I draw a line at the price of a firearm. Anything north of 250 is out of the question, and I’m pretty sure the law of diminishing returns is at play around 150 anyway.
TheSandreth I would only pay more than $300 for a custom of my design, and not by much.
True dat man.
If you have to ask why it costs that much then it’s not for you.
I appreciate your zero fucks given to battoning a loaner knife , thumbs up AKB
He allowed it! I only do what the owner is comfortable with... and even then I only tend to review users and not "safe queens"
Sometimes I put on one of your playlists and let it roll while I go about my day. 😇
Fine by me! I haven't created a new one in a while.
Advanced Knife Bro I did the Benchmade one and then the Spyderco. Does one have 271 vids?

I'm not the one drinking Hamm's.
"Hit me in the titt", "sensitive nipples".....HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! ON THE FLOOR! Sorry I have the mind of a 12 year old who owns around 40 knives. Keep rollin'!!!!
Hey me too!
Favorite designer for folders. Hinderers look so damn awesome to me.
Nice review man, it's got me all fired up for some tactical deployments. That packaging doesn't know what's coming. Tactically.
These blades have working edges, so they weren't super slicy at cardboard- my rule of thumb is never sharpen another mans knife.
ZT 0562 is a more perfect Hinderer they say. I have the 0566 coz the size is better for me. But i dont know about the Gen 6 Hinderers that have the triple pivot system
Betterererr And betterrer r r videos every time 🤘👍🏼
UA-cam needs a mediocre button. I don't quite like this video, but I don't dislike it either.
I feel the same way about this comment.
Ok. You persuaded me. I hit the thumbs up.
I like the bowiererish one best! Gooderer job!
Thananks.
4 ounce or less rule seems to keep the knife swinging down. It would be nice if I could wear jeans and a t shirt to work- but I can't!
Fist time ever hearing the English word ‘nipple’ in a knife revue.... holy shit AKB is awesome at this. You won YT overall man. Don’t know what your prize is (maybe crabs?) but you earned it 😃
I struggled to get past the nipple references, Mr. AdvancedKnifeBro, but I didn't want to quit and be a weenie.
I have big hands n use an investigator pen. Please review one after edcing for 6 months. I now hate using other pens but hated it when I first bought it. Since then I’ve been eyeing the xm18 thanks for the awesome review n comparison. I now want both sizes
N your the best for expensive knives cuz most dudes think like you
Anti-Strider virtue signaling? That should be good for a few upvotes.
Man those threads over there sure are nasty aren't they!
Nipple sensitivity is the metric of the future. AKB staying ahead of the curve. That's why he's ADVANCED. Give Tactical Baby 1.0 a hug, and give 2.0 an external pat.
ONE DAY ILL BE RECOGNIZED
ZT 0562CF is a $250 Hindererer with better materials and the same build quality. I'll sell mine to you if you want it. Great knife, but not lefty friendly.
I'm good... these aren't super my thing.
Advanced Knife Bro No, I insist. Buy my knife.
Nipple sensitivity is the *only* factor I consider when choosing multi-hundred-dollar knives ☺️
This guy... err, uh... gets it.
ElyssaAnderson I make sure it attacks my nipples
I like it
I waited until prices dropped below crazy high before buying mine. Now I carry a CF Native. Who knew!!!
Nice and light!
Yep... bowie is my favorite blade here for sure.
Got the tri way version with bearings and I agree the flipper with its odd sharp angle is not comfortable to use at first. Don’t understand this at this price level. Cool knife otherwise.
Does this make you AdvancedBrowie now?
I just can not understand teflon at this price range. Especially by a company that seems to think they make hard use knives. What possible advantage could teflon have over bronze? Other than that it is cheaper.
There's a lot of reasons that makes one wonder why this knife costs $400.
I thought this was a beer review channel.
Me too. It's about to be a Magic Eraser channel too.
Glad to see you were able to get this video up. Writers blocks can be solved by whiskey and beastie boys by the way. Its a trade secret worth sharing 😉. Your welcome.
I was so pissed when my computer crashed tuesday and I was so close to finishing it.
I think, you´re one of the funnier-er knife reviewer to watch. I like your kind of humour. And as an Austrian, I have to know a lot about humour, right?!
That's the stereotype!
Mac-problems solved? Great video.
NOT!
striders genuinely aren't worth it. up down lock rock on all 3 that I own...I thought I'd get a good one if I kept trying.
At least you won't buy a 4th right?
The finger should never get poked! The finger does the poking! It’s not a difficult concept really. Personally, I give it to the Lion Steel. Thanks Bro, pleasure as always. Cheers!
I like what ye hath brought to knife reviewing. I always thumbs up de videos.
I’d love to see you review the Cold Steel Recon 1 in full serrated blade. There’s just something wicked about that blade.
I might one day!
Do a Gen 6 KnifeBro! Maybe I should look for that video before posting.
Nice knives! Great video.
Your videos are so damn good how dont you have more subs
Fair review, I think a xm18 and a sebenza are actually comparable, one is more hard ass and one is more gentlemanly, but both very high end semi custom way overpriced blades. Strider more comparable to zero tolerance, both not custom but hard use. Then there is Emerson, maybe somewhere between.

@@AdvancedKnifeBro well how dare you! 🤣 Spyderco smock, shaman lil native? Lol! Then ya don't! Tons of knives out there!😁

I say, it's about time we get to actually *see* this suit carry situation of yours.
Views!
😁
🔪👍🍺😎
Steve Kluver I’ve seen him in the suit. Might have been on IG though. I think he was at work messing with techy stuff.
But, have you seen him batoning? While wearing a suit, Tony Canniffe?
😁
No Steve. But it’s a great idea. He’d need something classy, so his only option is the Sebenza.
I think my dress shirt has shown up somewhere, but not my full ill fitting work suit.
That's fine. Ill fitting or not. We want to see you batoning in it, once!
Gen 4 XM 18 3" non flip is an excellent EDC knife.
Much like the Crooked River, I, too, am a bit awkward when wet.
Get the hose!
Hey, you couldn't baton wood outside, why not baton cardboard inside? XD
You are AWESOME!! Thanks for the humor in your vids! :)
haha, love this video man. very different from the "standard" review of knives , a refreshing take with the humor and very thorough. "hunting....for hotdogs"
'Hinderer' is what happens when you increase the pure early 2000s hard rock power of Hinder. They're more Hinderer than ever.
This is a hair band knife if I’ve ever seen one.
I love reviews for knives I already own. But I wonder why mine say Kershaw Cryo and Thermite?
You cheap!
Hi. Nice video bro. I liked the little knife but not that much. Frame locks aren't really my thing. Both knives look overdone. Too much going on. A pocket knife should be simple and sensible. Still a pretty good video though. K, bye.
yep.. not really my thing either. Thanks man!
Lost so much street cred mentioning wearing a suit jacketerer.
I love you as a man.
never seent a goodererer review in my life got damb
wheel sheet
Advanced Tim Taylor Bro!
Mmmmmmm... nice. I agree on the buuuuuwie style blade. Sweet.
Would it be possible to get a video on types of blade steel?
I mean I could go through some... but I'd just be listing off specs- and the theory behind why people like each steel. Cedric and Adas channel is much better at dissecting blade steel than mine. One of the few review channels who has a repeatable fairly objective analysis on blade steel.
Love the videos ~ you easily tslked me out of these. Not real fond of the 2 different sides nor the price
I don't know why but $400 pocket knives hold no interest to me. Oh wait yes I do! I only carry knives I'm willing to use.
I use my $400 knife ocassionally. It's not that I feel like I'm gonna hurt it- I just have other cheaper knives that are better looking and are just more fun to use.

Nice! I have lots of duck tape laying around.
Hey. You changed measurement text color.
It's back today!
what type of work that you have to wear a suit.
1:40 "tallnesses"
$200 is spot on. Not the knife for me, got one at a good price and sold it shortly after-er. But, America.
You said you didn't know of any other knives that looked like a Hindererer with S35vn. How about ZT566 and 562?
There’s a lot of ZT hinder designs yep. I have a few Kershaws too.
The Hinderer-er-er-er-er knives are built for the Seals. You know, because you sound like one, when you pronounce the full name with all the "er"s.
Sea Dwelling creatures that are blue in color.
More like dark stonewash to polished DLC.
Nipple sensitivity? Coulda been worse. Could have been an entire TedX talk on testicle tenderness. Now THAT would have been nuts.
Just commenting to say I enjoyed the testicle pun.
So it sounds like you weren’t impressed with those Hinderererreers hahaha. Great review 👍!
They don’t do much for me. Not my thing I guess.
I watched for two mins and had enough.

For touching it or leaving it on the shelf?
Both. Really a lose-lose-situation you got yourself in there. Tim and Anne can smell these sort of things.
At 2:54 you can see a mosquito land on your hand and start drinking your blood.
He may have wanted to get drunk.
@Bernd DasBrot Gee, Thanks for the hot tip and I am familiar on how to utilize this style flipper tab but it just isn't my preferred style.
You might make the best quality videos and your super funny but I agree, not the guy to reveiw high end/ midtech Knives. So that begs the question are you really “advanced” knife bro? Whoa that’s deep man.
I want to review a few customs and plan on it... but only knives I really really like.
I hate it when a knife smacks your nipples. I’ve never owned a hinderer-er, but I’ve owned a zt 0550. Basically the same materials used, and half the cost.
Thanks for another awesome video
There you go... if you want the premium feel without the $400 tag, go with a ZT Hinderer.
Did making this review hinder your sense of humor
How did I miss this!
That darn writer-er-ers block.
Missed Opporortunity.
That looks dummy thicc behind the edge.
hey, man Im looking for a really durable knife steel, ya know, can you
recommend something that can withstand the divine light as I pierce the
heavens. The usual goats blood dagger I use just cant stand up to the
impact. thx bro, devil bless
I think I'll stick to cheapererer knives. Like benchmades and stuff made from chinad2...
China D2... favorite steel flavor.
I've had my eye on some ChinaM390. Wondering if its pretty similar to BoehlerM390.
There are a few lesser known (lesser known than like... WE Knives) like TwoSun that have been coming out with some neat designs in "M390" Steel, even saw a cool looking titanium integral in "M390" steel but it was selling for like $130... so that can't be right... can it?
What this video lacked in jokes was more than made up for by the lack of jokes.
Posting this comment doesn’t help your case.
buy a Hinderer Knife if that's what nobody is aksking me but I am willing to tell you.I like my Hinderer'ers in ZT form.
When you gonna review the Z-Hunter lol
It's coming... I still haven't wrapped my mind on what I'm going to do with it yet. The editing is going to probably take a while, and I plan on using music. When I do music slow motion and editing, it always takes longer. Nothing shot and on paper yet though.
9:00 Poetry snuck into a knife review
DID YOU FORGET THAT THE ZT HINDERERS EXISTED ? I NEED MORE SARCASM NOT LESSSSS
I got sarcasm.
5 ounces is a good number.. For a big ole bag o weed ..lil heavy for pocket art..
It kills me that you can get a ZT-er-er version of these knives, that are much nicer-er-er for half the price if not less.
Yep!
The frame is titanium.
Didn’t I say that?
Hinder er, might add a beer er er..😏
I need a beer.
