I think a simple tag reader or QR code reader just before you plug in the battery could be a cheaper, lighter, backwards compatible solution.

Might catch on .don't think any companies are going to release graphene or any other type of batteries until they suck us dtmry from li ion .liposuction sadly ,as ide love to fly or see friends or foe fly not 5 minutes but 50 plus .wouldn't that be awesome. Thanx for sharing .love the speed in them electric cars .an back in the day with noise nitrous I thought they were just it lol.🎉have a good one😊😊

I use the bashing 5000mah 4s with the hard case (from 3dxr) for my big quad (10 inch rotors the weight of the case doesn't matter for me). brillant battery, the case saved issues when I had an unplanned landing on to a hidden barb wire fence the case stopped the barbs piercing the pack. replaced two broken rotors and the esc that failed and caused the unexpected landing and was back in the air. If it had been a soft shell lipo there probably would have been a fire and a burnt drone.
