VNM pedals having bearings on all the moving parts would make them silky smooth with no play compared to brass bushings on the simjacks. But for the price simjacks are very good if you are prepared to do a bit of tinkering to get them right, also I have heard the supplied elastomers are not great.

you can tell way of the difference between a 24 bit and 16 for bit there are more resolution when you’re pushing on the gas pedal so if you barely push on the gas bill on it in real life you’re barely pushing the gas bill and game that means when you do hill toe kick their more precise

So I just got a set of these from Sim-Motion and received a different pedal plate. This plate mounted the heel plate lower, so it doesn't raise it like you were complaining about. Much better I feel. Weird thing is, nothing states that I should have received different ones and I see no documentation of them changing them or pictures showing a new style.

👍👍Will. Im coming into this video off of watching Gamers Nexus tremendous call out the huge Linus Media group on their errors, lack of ethics and unprofessional behaviour. I hope this can be a lesson to all youtube reviewers out there who just want to pump out content without regard for quality. I stopped watching them a while back because i thot it was getting a little too "show-man"y and snake oil salesman but this Nexus video just exposed them big time.
Keep up the great work Will

    • @boostedmedia
      @boostedmedia  Рік тому +1

OK watched it. I've always respected Linus and his approach to how he handles sponsorships and his transparency, etc. However I must admit have had my concerns recently about the sheer volume of content necessary, and other potential sacrifices to core values that may be necessary to sustain a business as large as LMG has become, so it was certainly interesting.
We've been at a point recently where I have to make a decision as to whether we take on more staff to increase production capacity, or start saying no even more than we already are in order to keep overheads low and retain an intimate involvement with every bit of content we produce. This cements my decision to keep things small and release videos when they are ready rather than making sacrifices to pump content out.
It will be very interesting to see how this plays out as I know Linus has expressed a lot of respect for Steve publicly in the past, which means he can't jsut dismiss this.
Thanks again for pointing this out. Not how I expected to be spending my afternoon but this is important stuff!

@@gadpettersson9173 It's so strange how few reviews there are! Especially for how popular the cup1's were. So far I have only tried the pedals with the hydraulic brake and I'm not the biggest fan because the pressure is so stiff and doesn't have that initial uptake that Boosted talks about, which I like as well. I am planning on getting the LC brake because it has an integrated spring with the polymers similar to this VNM set. I ultimately decided on the Meca's because I like the design of the pedals and cup concept for the polymers, plus they are relatively cheap for the quality of build which I can assure you is excellent.

I've had these pedals for about 6 months. I did not get any of the extras, just a 3 pedal set. I love the aesthetics and large faceplates on these. The pedals are a bit tall for my rig, so I had to raise my feet up to get more leverage on the pedal face. I blew out/split the brake elastomer in the first few weeks of owning them, but only because I was seeing how hard I could press on the brake and apparently I found the limit lol... But I haven't done anything to repair it since then and it's working just fine. There is a faint "squeaking" sensation in the brake if you play close attention, as the broken elastomer rubs against itself. The throttle has excessive throw... I wish I could move the bump stop even further to reduce the throttle throw, because at full throttle the pedal is like 3inches past the brake pedal, which results in some lower back/knee pain. I fixed this by having the brake mounted slightly behind the throttle so the distance to the pedals isn't so much of an offset between my two legs. The clutch pedal can be a pain in the ass to make adjustments to because it involves so many screws and washers. Once you get them dialed in, they are awesome to use.

Is there any chance you could PLEASE compare the fully upgraded versions of this and the P1000 with hydrolic brake and throttle kits? I know that the Simagic haptics can be attached to both (with a small adapter purchase for the VNM), so it can be ignored for comparative purposes. To me that is the ultimate test of the best under $1000 pedal set.
If you don't think a full video would be compelling to enough people, Id love to hear your thoughts. The one thing I know is that the damper kit on the VNM is mechanical and not hydrolic, but not sure how much that will actually matter. I'm waiting build my sim rig until I know the direction to go on this :)

I got these pedals few weeks ago. They are really nice set of pedals. I made the decision to get them thanks to this video, because this is nicely detailed video and the pedals looked good. And now that i've used them, they are amazing and i'm super happy. I got them from a sale and with very good price so it's a massive win. My previous pedals weren't that special and i always felt a bit uncomfortable with them, but with these i was instantly feeling so much better and it even improved my driving because i feel more confident and i can be more consistent.

Resolution level is kinda ridiculous, a human body naturally has physiological tremor and many others noisy movements especially in a tense static state, 2k evenly distributed points on 20cm line gives 0.1 mm distance between them, I think any resolutions higher 10-12 bits are marketing, it is also hard to believe that real car will behave differently if you apply 70% and then 70.01% of break in the same situation.

Had mine since December. Love them. Excited to watch this review.
I will say, for the clutch I could never get the second stage to happen sooner. The vertical holes dont seem to be very useful in that regard. I ended up setting the software around the clutch point of the pedal and that worked ok.

I wonder how long it'll take for companies to finally abandon elastomers. Its the Achilles heel of everything on the market. There's no such thing as an elastomer that won't require replacement and an elastomer that can transfer force without damping and delay

That's a very tough question as I'd honeestly be happy with either. I think I'm leaning to these very slightly though simply as I like the feel of the damper kit (which VRS has discontinued for their pedals), and I prefer the sleek black design.

Owning their shifter and HB I'm not surprised the pedals are good too. As for best presentation explanation and build quality and performance my Simtrecs ProPedal GT are un matched. I was on Sprints before and find the dampers on my Simtrecs actually one of the best things on them so if the dampers on the VNM do the same job I recommend getting the option.
One thing I will say VNM have terrible documentation and the software is weird. I still to this day don't know how to update the software 😂 but it works I only use ld it once for my HB and never opened it again

@benclimo461 best pedals I've ever had the chance to try or own up to date. The tuning is endless and being able to change the strength of the potentiometer on demand is amazing. It depends how much you want to spend and if you'll use all the tuning. I drive rally gt formula and anything in between so to be able to switch my pressures on demand is valuable to me.

I love mine, i've had them since december 2022, they are built like a tank, no squeeks or rattles, everything is super smooth. I got them initially without the brake upgrade kit because they were out of stock but i bought it recently and it is worth getting them together if you are buying these, this way you can really finetune the brake because it's super stiff out of the box, one thing i wish was better is more adjustability of the pedal plates because of my crappy rig the angle of them isn't the best but that is a problem specific to me and will be "fixed" once i get a proper 80/20 cockpit, i checked my cables and all of them have heat shrink on them so your set propably wasn't picked up during qc, i would recommend these over heusinkveld sprints, i paid 902 CAD$ with taxes for a set of 3 pedals with 200kg loadcell, meanwhile a set of 2 Heusinkveld 100kg loadcell (gas and brake) is 899 CAD$ before tax so i'd say VNM are much better value.

I've been holding off buying new pedals for a while because I'm just not sure which way to go. I have Titan Exodus pedals, which I'm pretty sure are a knock-off of another brand. I've really had my eye on the Simagic pedals, since I have the Alpha base. But there's a few pedals around that price and I just can't pull the pin on anything atm. These reviews are great but always make it tougher!
