Toadstool leather care and cutting

This is a short video all about the toadstool leather coral. It is in my opinion that these corals are underated. Toadstools are a soft coral and that means that they do not have a calcium carbonate skeleton but are flesh all the way through. These corals are perfect for somebody that is just starting out in the hobby and wants to get their first coral. Toadstool leathers tolerate swings in chemistry very well and this makes them well suited for newer aquariums. Toadstools can tolerate dirtier water better than most corals and may even have better growth with higher nitrates and phosphates. These corals can add a nice swaying movement to an aquarium when they grow to the larger stages. Toadstools are very easy to cut and manually multiply if your looking for another reason to get one. I will go over some of the general care requirements in this video and how to safely cut them. Toadstools do well in just about any flow rate and tolorate a multitude of different lighting schedules and intensities. If your looking to get into coral keeping then make sure toadstool leathers are on your list for one of your first corals to keep. Happy Reefing!

Do they like a lot of flow and plus I just got my first one today and it haven’t open up yet how long does that take plus great video

Thank you for watching I am glad you enjoyed it. These guys really do not need a ton of flow. They do well in most conditions so it is a great coral and easy to care for. As long as all your parameters are correct in your aquarium he should open up within 48 hours. He is still a little shocked from the move I bet.

@@cmaquatics7428 thank you and also I didn’t glue him because the guy In the pet store said there gonna stick it’s foot on two the rock plus I put him in a tight spot and I got a lot of flow in my ten gallon plus my water was perfect so I can’t wait to see it grow
