- This large deck was eight years old and starting to show signs of deterioration. The surface was badly stained by green algae and in some places was carpeted with moss.
Elsewhere, rotten decking boards were in need of repair and the entire construction required sealing with decking oil.
This was a large scale restoration and I followed our 5-Step Plan to arrive at a terrific final result

Absolutely over the moon with the transformation Paul, it was always a lovely sunny space to entertain but now it looks even better! Hope the reminiscing of our school days didn't hold you up too much!. Your knowledge and expertise were just what we needed to ensure such a large decking was renovated properly. You are a true gent Paul.
So good to hear Nick. Like I said in the video, the best thing about this work is people's reaction when it's all completed. Let's keep an eye on those repairs though. Hopefully the area will dry out, now the soil has been removed. That said, it occurred to me afterwards that perhaps the soil is moving from the adjacent raised flower bed somehow. Probably worth checking in a few months.
There are loads of exterior cleaning channels on UA-cam but none come close to yours
Very informative, and your very conscientious.

This is the most thorough video I've come across of cleaning, repairing (even if partially), and finishing a deck, so THANK YOU! You are crystal clear in your descriptions and your tips are great.
I have a huge floating deck that needs several repairs and I've been putting it off because I've been intimidated by it. This honestly made me feel like I could tackle it!
That's great to hear. If you need professional help please look me up.
@@jetreadyuk I'm in Birmingham... Alabama, but if I ever move to the UK, you're my guy!
You don't have DeckClean Pro in the US, but Sodium Percarbonate and Oxalic Acid make for a good substitute. Lots of UA-cam videos about this.
Absolutely amazing transformation. The way you take the viewer through the process is great, you’re a natural presenter! Glad your customer is happy.
Thank you for watching and also for the kind words
well done paul you should be at more subscribers
I had a long break from making new videos and lost momentum. Back up to speed now. Thanks for watching.
Awsome paul
Cheers
Great job, sir!💥👌👏👏💯💯
Thank you! Cheers!
How well do you think this product can be stored after opening? Wondering if I bought 5 gallon and coat once..will the product be usable a year or 2 later for recoat?
I'm not sure. Better to ask the manufacturer. They are Expert Stain and Seal.
Superb results and as always an excellent how to guide
How long do this one take to complete and how much oil did you use
Cheers and keep up the awesome work
It took two days. Day One was cleaning and repairs, and Day Two was sanding and sealing. If sanding by hand it would have taken up to four days. It was 120m2 and needed 9 tubs. Important to bear in mind they are US gallons or 3.8L each.
Thank you for your reply to my questions greatly appreciated
Love your content👍 two qs (1) Can n i use the same techique to remove paint from decking then oil stain?
(2) Which of the stains did you use? Light, med, or heavy?
Many thanks 👍
Removing failed decking stain (paint) is hard work. The easiest way is to use paint remover followed by pressure washing and then sanding. Don't underestimate the amount of paInt remover you'll need.
Thanks. It's a pretty poor paint job, with little prep by the looks of it, so that may help! Can I ask which colour stain you used?

@@kustorez_kurganinsk гипохлорит натрия
