Ashgabat is a fascinating place. All the splendor of Las Vegas at night yet with Military Police everywhere thinking it was North Korea. The visa formalities of getting one is a challenge after obtaining a Letter of Invitation as a tourist that had taken two weeks, then sending away the passport to Embassy taking two more weeks, they give me 5 days on my visa....dates fixed.I liked the British Pub/ Club Florida in Ashgabat.
And dont overstay that 8 day visa...even if its the fault of the sketchy local airlines or ships...or you'll end up in Turkmen jail. Or so I was warned.

+Dounia Verzo No thats not correct. I booked 2 flights to Ashgabat. There are turkmenish tourist organisations which offer you the invitation letter, you'll need for the Visa. You only have to book your Hotel or your Tourist Guide on their Homepage, so that they will send you the letter.
