It is good to see a sensible concrete floor. All too often mud or gravel seem to be left to do the job, at a cost in safety and quality of work.

Do the last couple of off-seasons represent the most concerted works program Blodge has ever seen? Surely this has now to-be more than was needed (back in the 1870s) to turn a repair facility into a works capable of turning out it's own (home designed) locomotives.
So what loco sheds does the F&WHR now possess? At Blodge, 'Old' and 'Small' (is the existing running shed still going to be so used?), at Glan-y-Pwll, the 'Top' and there's the one at Dinas (Llanwnda) .... is that the lot? Or is anyone counting the NRM as a sub-shed of Blodge!!
Loving the progress .... though I suspect the GLTW ought by now to be looking at a traction plan for the post-hydrocarbon world and a secure 3rd century of operation. Forty years ain't all that far away. Bob knows, the past forty vanished rapidly enough .... and the 25 before that, come to think about it!

Well done; did you think to emboss a completion date in the concrete of this magnificent project? See 'you' over the forthcoming 'Snowdonian' weekend.

What is the dip in the floor for, why not all level with the rail head?
