There are some things that need address in a separate video that Beatstars failed to mention in this video. stay tuned for that video later this week!

Good points, however their video fails to mention the 12.5% service fee for all transactions on their marketplace now. That’s a BIG problem for our customers. Also they didn’t mention removing stripe as a payment method. PayPal is now the only option.

I noticed these things and are topics for another video as this video was only mentioning what they said in the vid they dropped :)

This is the most positive outlook on the release, so salute to you. Beatstars is the best in the game right now but I think this release was a complete miss on their part and didn't give the majority of users anything that we've been asking for unfortunately.

I like Beatstars, I’m grateful they are around but these updates were kind of meh…. I was hoping for the launch of an ad platform that’s more targeted.

I think it is smarter to hold onto the promo credits until next month. Everyonethat received the $50 and is going to flood the marketplace in the next couple days with their beats. Wait until everyone's used up their promo credits so that there's less competition

What do you guys think of the 180 day hold they've imposed?

So they not only removed stripe but they've made it so you essentially have to wait 1/2 a year to payout funds from your beatstars wallet. I made my first bigger sale yesterday and now I've got to wait until February 20th, 2024 to withdraw. @@joegautrey_music

That 180 day hold period is ridiculous , im thinking now theyre behind on taxes because whats the point of holding our money that long if the customer already paid for the beat, its not collecting royalties , thats 6 f*cking months , thats sketchy af

@@GENOVANII something sketchy is going on with beatstars behind the scenes, i understand a 10-15 day hold on your money but half a year is basically pocketing our money , i dont even care about the service fee that half a year hold is alot worse

I'm busy uploading my first beat, but I feel like I'm going against so many great beat makers, and I'm terrible at marketing myself :/

your only competition is yourself. without other beat makers the market wouldn't be as big as it is! just do your thing and be unique then we will all grow together :)

As someone who just started producing again just about a month ago, I can suggest the following in order to market yourself and gain some loyal listeners
      1. Start a UA-cam beat channel.
I begun mine quite some time ago and have started and stopped throughout the duration of it's existence due to various reasons, but I began daily (weekday) uploads to my channel mid July and I've had some good results. (went from 23 subscribers beginning of July and now I'm just about to touch 400 & my most viewed is at 18K rn)
I've noticed that uploading daily @ around 4:00 PM EST is what most producers on here tend to do and for whatever reason it works. Whenever I upload at 4:00 PM I tend to see the most rapid increase in views over the next 24 hours. 🤷🏾‍♂
      2. CONSISTENCY IS KEY
Uploading daily definitely shows people you are serious and it also works as a great way of practicing your craft. Helps with the algorithm pushing you and all that. Algorithmic growth or organic views are the best because you know that these people are here because of what you can do and while not all of them will subscribe, the few that do are genuinely interested in what unique qualities you bring to a preexisting genre!
      3. Find a niche. Be creative!
Produce things you like to listen to. I listen to various waves of music but as of recent, I've been into the Neo Soul x Jazz sound found in songs like "Little Things" by Jorja Smith. Producing things you like is a sure fire way to attract at least a decent subset of viewers who also like the things you like. Also attracts artists who are looking for that sound to sing/rap on and as such they have a bigger catalogue of beats to look through and likely purchase from you.
      4. Post on your social medias whenever you upload
I personally post a "demo" of the tracks I post daily on my Instagram (I feel I have the most pull there, and people on X/Twitter don't really interact with me). I take a screen recorded video of my most recent upload, crop it, then post it on my story alongside a link to the beat. You'd be surprised how many people might actually hit you up asking about various uses or leases for your stuff.
Sorry if you didn't ask for all this advice lol! I hope I'm not boring you- it's just I find it so interesting that after all this time, averaging 20-60 views per video on beats I feel stand out I get around 1-2k and on beats that I still tried something on but maybe didn't execute as well, I still get around 200-600 views. The process really does work! Make sure you always take the time to bring quality and a unique element to your sound and people will remember you for that! Good luck brother. I may add more to this as I remember things that helped me grow. 👍🏾
