I kinda rev it a little bit on downshifts haha. That’s what makes it pop. Not sure if it’s possible on the paddles. I havent gotten pops on the upshift yet! Are you hitting the limiter?
@@jonsauce Im assuming from my knowledge that getting pops on the upshifts isn’t possible on manual because of the clutch disconnecting the engine but yes, hitting the paddle accelerating at 4.5k-5.5k creates a pop it almost sounds like a motorcycle quickshifter like the bmw s1000rr for example which is ironic because everyone talks about how the slow the auto shifting is. I’ve experimented on how to get loud pops and crackles on the downshifts with the paddles but I just don’t think its possible because the auto rev matching doesn’t rev high enough.
It was fun at first, but after a whole year of having it on, on a daily, the 2-2.2k drone was not fun. I went back to stock, now i feel like the car returned to feeling executive, or return back to its class. I sold it and use that money to fund my speaker upgrades instead haha
Do you plan on running headers? I really like this subtle sound but I also love the really aggressive sound you get with with UEL headers paired with a catback.
I’d love to eventually. Dustin W had a catted header on his 86 that I loved the sound. Definitely want something like that, that adds a bit of rumble. Soon maybe =). I am worried it’s going to get real ugly loud fast especially with no muffler 😀
You will miss the turbo forsure. Although it’s fun revving up to 7400 I do miss the noises my focus ST made. BRZ is going to attract a lot more attention though. Everybody I know loves it. And although it’s not as fast, it’s enough for the streets to have fun in
What’s up man! Not yet. Sitting at 2500 miles and no problems so far. Car pulls hard as shit 😂 and no RTV in dipstick. I’m just going to not worry about it until my first oil change in a few months
So from the comments below can you clarify with the windows up or down on the hwy going 70-80mph there isn't drone or high level of noise past stock exhaust? (I drive a lot of hwy daily) I have a 2023 brz coming in october. Did this axle back void your warranty? I appreciate your response.
It’s definitely louder than the stock exhaust but it’s not going to give you a headache on the freeway. I’ve gone to LA and back to SD (about 2 hour drive) going 65-80 and ride felt fine. I could hear my music, talk, it was no big deal. I think for $400 you can’t get a better exhaust! This will not void your warranty :) unless you make a claim to get your muffler replaced, which wouldn’t be covered since remark is an aftermarket brand! Hope this helps and congrats on your BRZ :-)
Unfortunately no tune exists yet, the ECU hasn’t been cracked. Which is really annoying cuz it’s been like 8 months and the Integra was cracked immediately on release because it is very similar to the Civic. So you can give that one more power, but I can’t even tune my damn exhaust lol. Dunno why Subaru is cracking down on tuning so hard. No tuners means less interest in these cars, unless that’s intentional. But why would you release a gen 2 then? You know how much attention turbo and superchargers give these cars…
Yeah it just gives the most clear sound. In cabin on camera you won’t hear anything. Unless it’s like a high pitched raspy exhaust. Most good exhaust sound like a little bass or lower frequency so getting it closest to the source makes it sound more like what the actual exhaust sounds like in person.
I have an Invidia N2 on my manual and I’m kinda jealous cuz it takes a little bit of work to get loud crackles, they’re usually a bit tame and it can be a little boomy off throttle above 3500 on the highway (when I’m going over 80). But then again I have mufflers, I just don’t want it to be too loud in my neighborhood…unfortunately it still kinda is lol should I just sell it and go axleback?
Dude. Axleback is the best choice by far. cold start is a little bit annoying but apart from that, car sounds great. No drone on the highway (normal driving pretty much) and it gets really loud if you step on it. Try bolting on your stock exhaust and just leaving the muffler off. It’ll give you an idea of how it sounds. Just less raspy. The remark axelback has 0 rasp and it sounds really good. As for the pops and stuff this exhaust is great 😂. I love it. Every downshift i just give it a little gas and it backfires. I say go for it. Can’t beat it for the price. It’s loud but not too much. I’ve honestly thought it’s a little quiet at times when I want to make noise for my passengers 😂
Yes. This audio however comes from right next to the exhaust. It amplifies it for the video but it’s pretty close to what it sounds like in person. If I used the cabin recording it wouldn’t have picked up much.
Not much bro! Really have kept the car pretty much stock. I think this summer we’re going to be getting a lot of good carb legal stuff, so hopefully I’ll have more to add then!
Awesome! I finally got my car so I’m really trying to settle between this and the mbrp axleback. Love your driving clips and rev match techniques! Trying to learn 💯
Hi! Axle back only replaces the rear most part of the exhaust. So pretty much just the stock muffler! Catback replaces the muffler AND the piping leading up to the catalytic converter. So pretty much Axle back = muffler delete Catback = full exhaust replacement starting after the catalytic converter 😀
Interesting choices haha. Tomei is nice forsure. Even though the remark axleback is loud I’ve heard the tomei is ear bursting loud lol. Which can be a good thing. It looks really nice too. But honestly if I were to go single exit I’d get the remark R1. I just think most exhausts sound the same tbh especially on this car. Once you get a header it changes things of course. But I figure might as well get a cheap one (remark) and then if you really want something different you can easily sell it for what you paid for it. Remarks are made to order usually so in my area the axlebacks sell for like $400.. used
The remark axleback is essentially a muffler delete 🙂. You remove the stock muffler for an axleback with no muffler. You still keep the rest of the original piping like the resonator. And you can keep the original muffler to swap back. It just bolts right on. No cutting or irreversible procedure required 😄
Crazy how good it sounds in video considering its only an axle back. Definitely gonna get one of these for mine
Love how it consisted of at least 3 touches to the shifter
Ahaha I think we’ve all got that bad habit of touching our knob !
I like my cars pretty stock but I gotta say this sounds great! Especially considering no headers.
It’s much better than I expected! Hoping it pairs well with a catted header!
I have the auto and mine pops upshifting but doesn’t pop and crackle like crazy on the downshifts, kinda jealous lol

@@archive636 ooo gotcha. Well they’ll have some tunes out soon enough and we’ll get sick of the pops and crackles before you know it 😂
Have you ever worked out if it can pop on downshifts with the auto if you are in the right rev range?

I totally get what you mean haha. I like the rowdiness of the exhaust though. My gf has the boring car 😂 so I’m even thinking of adding a UEL
Header 😅
Debating between this and mxp comp rs 😭 wanted a super deep rumble.

It sounds great what type of brand is the exhaust?
Remark axleback 👍
How droney is it at normal speeds in the interior, it's hard to tell on video
I’m trading in my 20’ stage 2 Wrx for a 23 brz, this will be the only mod

I’m still gonna send it when mine comes, I’m just wondering whether or not they let you borrow a car if they indeed need to fix the brz

Not too bad 🤙🏻 it’s there but only in very small RPM window like 1600-2300 rpm. You get used to it

Yes. This audio however comes from right next to the exhaust. It amplifies it for the video but it’s pretty close to what it sounds like in person. If I used the cabin recording it wouldn’t have picked up much.
