I don't think is the same, but is unnecessary, and maybe a bit of a show off like when Francis does his washing of the feet or all his body on the floor head down before the cross but doesn't kneel for communion and did not let people take communion on the mouth during Pope Benedict xvi funeral mass. You might find an answer to that by reading some articles or watching some videos of the SSPX regarding the New Mass or by reading some books by Monsignor Marcel Lefebvre. When you start clarifying certain concepts, you'll feel less overwhelm each time. Ask the Holy Spirit for discernment.
