Oh damn those tealights..I would have never thought that's how you were lighting the houses. I was thinking it might be a bit dangerous and/or creepy going inside. Well done!
Cool idea. I tried a 25 second exposure in manual mode with 100 iso and f8(sharpest for my lense) and painted with my phone flashlight tonight in my living room. Really cool!
man, i laughed so hard from 10:35 to 10:50 / 11:15 to 11:29 when you need a friend to help you situation. awesome video- im learning alot from you Chris. keep it up.
Hi Chris, I just stumbled across your channel today. I live in Ontario farm country and so I was happy to find this. Over the next few weeks I will watch your videos and start making plans to try out some light painting. I love the Tee candle trick there is an old pick truck in my neighbours back yard I will get out there and try it soon, hopefully with snow and a somewhat clear night. Thanks.
I'm down rabbit hole with your videos! 😅 Your info is super interesting (never thought of painting with light!) and you have a wonderful skill in the way you explain things. Love the tips from your wife at the end as well! I'm happy to be a new subscriber 😊
just stumbled across your channel coincidentally while I'm taking my photography into the light-painting realm...very good tips and tricks and your photos are excellent!
This was very informative! I would've never thought the tea lights would have such an effect with the right exposure. And thanks to your wife for the heads up concerning insects haha!
Wow!!! Just discovered your channel! I am familiar with light painting, only in the outline sort of way; you know like the neon lights. This makes me want to break out my real cameras again( which I pretty much abandoned when I got a cell phone)Thank YOU!
Been admiring your work for a long time now. I live in Sask and spend most of my time on the highway here. I've always wondered how you lit the insides of the houses, and sometimes thought about electric tealights, but I really didn't think they would give enough light! Anyway, this summer, I'm going to go down hwy 13, there is so much potential down that road. Also between Radville and Hwy 6. I absolutely love your work, and hope to make one of your classes soon. Thank you for this video! Have an amazing day!
This is the second of your videos I have watched and am hooked , thanks so much for making it easy to understand for a beginner , have Subed . Cheers Pete Western Australia
Curious about the settings ? Why not use a lowwer ISO with longer exposure? Or, use aperture priority and let the camera do the rest? New subscriber, Great videos!
I don't understand the need for high ISO and fast aperture. Why not use a slower shutter speed and set ISO lower to eliminate noise and a narrower aperture for increased depth of field?
This video is so underrated. Thank you for using real examples and showing the difference between exposures. This really helped me understand.
Thank you!
The best tutorials out there as there is no preamble hes direct to the point and so easy to understand
Thank you!!!

Hello. I live in Clearwater Florida. Can yiu give suggestions on what I can paint besides abandoned buildings? I live near beaches. Thanks.
Trees, trucks, boats, pretty much anything that doesn't have street lamps above it.
Lol! This great!!
Thank you!

After setting the camera and starting the 30 seconds LE , when should i start painting with light and how many times during the 30 seconds ... Thanks
Anytime and as many times as needed to make it bright enough in the exposure.
Im new to this …. Feeling overwhelmed … 😬
It's fun!
You should have gone into that abandon house and stayed in it!
Not when I am alone :)
He can’t. He’ll disturb the person who’s been tied up for the last 25 yrs in the cellar.
